To charge Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, place them in their charging case with the nose bridge seated on the case’s charging area, then close the case. Ray-Ban says the case is the only way to charge the glasses; charge the case separately over USB-C.
How do I charge my Ray-Ban Meta glasses?
- Open the charging case and place the glasses inside. Make sure the nose bridge rests on the case’s charging contacts.
- For the first charge, remove the protective plastic tab covering the case’s metal charging connections.
- Close the case. Check its LED or the Meta AI app, if the glasses are connected, to confirm charging.
Do not connect a USB cable directly to the glasses. Ray-Ban identifies docking them in the case as the only way to charge them. See Ray-Ban’s FAQ for model-specific guidance.
How to charge the charging case
Connect the case to a power adapter with a USB-C cable. Ray-Ban lists USB-C-to-USB-C and USB-C-to-USB-A cables compliant with the USB-C standard. Its stated requirements recommend a cable rated for at least 1.2A and a compliant adapter rated at 5W or more; lower-rated equipment may charge more slowly. A compatible cable or adapter is only needed if you do not already have one.

How long charging takes and what the lights mean
Ray-Ban’s FAQ gives approximate estimates of 22 minutes to reach 50% and 75 minutes for a full charge in the case. The FAQ page does not state a publication date, so treat these as manufacturer estimates rather than a guarantee for every model or condition. Check Ray-Ban’s Meta FAQ for current guidance.

The US product FAQ describes these case-light indications:
- Solid green: fully charged.
- Solid orange: charging.
- Blinking red: charging error.
LED behavior may differ by case or generation. If the light does not match these descriptions, check the FAQ for your model. When the glasses are connected, the Meta AI app can also show their charge status.

What to do if the glasses or case will not charge
- No charging indication on the glasses: reseat them so the nose bridge meets the case’s charging area, check that the contacts are clean, and make sure the protective tab was removed for the first charge.
- The case does not appear to charge: try a different outlet, USB-C cable, or adapter.
- The glasses will not turn on: check that the power switch is on, then dock them in the case for an hour. Ray-Ban advises seeking a warranty replacement if they still fail after several hours of charging.
Choosing a replacement case
The glasses are supplied with a charging case, so a replacement is relevant if the original is lost or faulty. Match the case to the glasses generation before buying: Ray-Ban says its Meta charging case is compatible only with Ray-Ban Meta glasses, not Ray-Ban Stories.
