The Casper Cooling Select 12-inch Memory Foam Mattress is Costco’s medium-firmness, all-foam model—not the separately sold Cooling Select Hybrid. RTINGS’ September 2026 review gives it stronger scores for motion dissipation and responsiveness than for pressure relief and longevity. That makes its published test results useful for comparing features, but they cannot predict how it will feel or hold up for a particular sleeper.
What is the Casper Cooling Select mattress?
This review covers the Casper Cooling Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress listed by Costco. RTINGS describes it as an affordable, all-foam bed-in-a-box available exclusively at Costco in the United States. Costco lists the mattress as medium firmness and 12 inches thick.
It is distinct from the Casper Cooling Select Hybrid. The hybrid is a different construction with a separate RTINGS review; the foam mattress’s scores below do not apply to it.
Construction, firmness, and sizes
Costco describes a cooling knit cover and a four-layer foam design: a breathable top layer, pressure-relieving memory foam, zoned support, and a durable base. Its listing also says the foam is CertiPUR-certified and contains no ozone-depleting chemicals.
#1 Best Overall
- DESIGNED FOR ALL SLEEPERS: Balanced support and medium firmness fits all sleep styles
- PREVENTS OVERHEATING ALL NIGHT: Unlike traditional memory foam Casper's breathable open-cell Flex Foam keeps air flowing so you can stay sleeping cool
- ADVANCED MOTION ISOLATION: Layers of premium foam absorb motion transfer, giving you uninterrupted rest- even if your partner moves throughout the night
- DECADE OF DURABILITY: Casper mattresses use premium foams that prevent sinking and sagging, keeping your bed comfy and supportive year after year
- WORRY-FREE PURCHASE: 100-night risk-free trial with support from the Casper customer service team, CertiPUR-US certified, hassle-free returns, reliable 10-year limited warranty, and financing with Affirm up to 24 months 0% APR
RTINGS gives a more granular layer description: polyfoam and memory foam comfort layers, a zoned transition layer, and a polyfoam support layer. It says all foam layers are independently CertiPUR-certified. These are two publishers’ descriptions, and their layer labels should not be assumed to map exactly to one another.

How did it perform in RTINGS’ review?
RTINGS updated its review on September 18, 2026, using its Mattress Methodology v1.2. The scores are RTINGS’ publisher-specific test results, not a guarantee of an individual sleeper’s comfort or outcomes.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems| Category | RTINGS score |
|---|---|
| Cooling | 7.9 |
| Motion dissipation | 8.6 |
| Support | 7.5 |
| Pressure relief | 7.3 |
| Edge support | 7.7 |
| Responsiveness | 8.3 |
| Longevity | 6.7 |
Within that set of scores, motion dissipation and responsiveness are the highest-rated categories, while longevity and pressure relief are lower. Scores are best read as a comparative snapshot of RTINGS’ testing rather than a complete measure of fit: body type, sleep position, preferences, and bedroom conditions can affect an individual’s experience.

RTINGS also groups the mattress among its recommendations for affordable options, King and California King sizes, heavy people, and back pain. These are the publisher’s classifications, not clinical advice or a promise that the mattress will suit a particular person.
Foam or hybrid: which version are you considering?
The main distinction is construction: this reviewed model is all foam, while the Cooling Select Hybrid is a separate model. Compare the specific variant listed by the retailer and do not carry one model’s performance results over to the other.

RTINGS’ separate hybrid review says that model combines low-, good-, and high-quality foam and warns it may sag and form permanent body impressions faster than options made only with higher-quality materials. That is RTINGS’ assessment of the hybrid, not a general conclusion about all hybrid mattresses or a finding about the all-foam model.

Cost, delivery, returns, and warranty
Costco’s listing showed a starting price of $469.99 and an offer of $100–$150 off in a product comparison result. The product page also showed a Costco Direct multi-item promotion valid August 31 through October 29, 2026, while supplies last. These are dated offers, not guaranteed current prices; price and eligibility may vary by item and location. Check the live Costco listing and checkout before buying.
Costco says delivery is to the doorstep by default, without setup or package removal. Setup may be available for an additional fee quoted at checkout. The listing says Costco.com items can be returned to Costco warehouses, while delivery availability depends on the area. Confirm current return terms and local eligibility with Costco before ordering.
Casper’s general warranty page describes a 10-year limited mattress warranty for eligible mattresses purchased from Casper or authorized retailers in the United States or Canada. The warranty is subject to its written terms, limitations, and exclusions; the general page alone does not establish every model-specific claim detail or whether a particular Costco purchase meets all conditions. Review the warranty documentation that applies to your purchase.

Who should consider this mattress?
- Consider it if you want a medium all-foam mattress, are shopping through Costco in the United States, and find RTINGS’ category results relevant to your priorities.
- Compare carefully if pressure relief or long-term durability is your primary concern: RTINGS’ scores for those categories were lower than its motion-dissipation and responsiveness scores.
- Check the exact listing if you meant to buy the hybrid, need a particular size, or want setup, because those details can vary by product and location.
