To watch free movies on a supported Samsung Smart TV, start with Samsung TV Plus: connect the TV to the internet, open Home, and select Samsung TV Plus. It offers free, ad-supported live and on-demand programming. For other options, find a compatible streaming app in the TV’s Apps screen and install it. What you can watch—and which TVs and apps are supported—depends on your country, TV model, and software.
Start with Samsung TV Plus
Samsung TV Plus is the built-in option to check first. Samsung describes it as free and ad-supported, with live channels and some on-demand programming. It requires an internet connection, and channels or content can change. It is not a promise that every movie will be available to stream on demand.
- Connect your TV to the internet.
- Press Home on the remote.
- Select the Samsung TV Plus tile or its entry in the app bar. If you do not see it, check the local Samsung support page for your TV model and region.
- Browse the channel guide or the available on-demand area.
Samsung Australia describes one way to find on-demand titles on some channels: while tuned to a channel, press Down and select the on-demand option if it appears. That instruction is specific to Samsung Australia and may not apply in other markets or on every model. See Samsung Australia’s TV Plus instructions.

Eligibility is regional, not a single worldwide model-year rule. Samsung’s US support page says TV Plus is available on Samsung Smart TVs and projectors from 2016 onward in select areas. Samsung Australia says Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 onward are supported and notes that current firmware is required. Check the support information for your country and exact model rather than assuming either cutoff applies everywhere.

For details, see Samsung US support for TV Plus and Samsung UK’s TV Plus page. Samsung UK describes live and on-demand viewing and says account creation is optional there; account requirements can differ by service, device, and region.
Install another free streaming app
If you want a different service, look for it in the TV’s Apps interface. App availability is not guaranteed across all Samsung TVs or countries, so confirm that the service appears for your model and region before relying on it. “Free” also does not necessarily mean ad-free; check the service’s terms.

- Press Home and open Search or Apps; the label and path can vary by model and software.
- Search for the streaming service by name.
- Select the matching result, choose Install, then choose Open.
- Follow any sign-in or setup prompts shown by the app.
Samsung’s India app-installation guide says a Samsung account is required to access the app store. Samsung’s US support guidance says an account is required for network-based smart services, while Samsung UK says an account is not required to watch TV Plus in its described context. Follow the prompt on your TV and consult the local Samsung guidance; requirements are not identical for every region and service. Menu names and features can also vary by model, software version, and region. See Samsung India’s app installation guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf Samsung TV Plus or an app is missing
- Check the exact model and country. Service and app availability vary, and model-year guidance differs by region.
- Check the internet connection. TV Plus and app-store access need an internet connection.
- Check for a software update. Samsung Australia specifies current firmware for TV Plus eligibility there.
- Search the Apps screen. If a service does not appear for your TV, its app may not be supported for that model or region.
A separate streaming device is not required for TV Plus on a supported, connected Samsung TV. Consider one only if your TV cannot run a service you want; an antenna receives over-the-air broadcasts, not internet streaming.
