Hostinger is worth considering if you want a guided way to install Joomla on shared hosting and can accept paying for a long term upfront. The main trade-off is the low introductory rate versus a substantially higher renewal price. Performance evidence is limited: an independent reviewer monitored one test site, not a Joomla-specific setup.

Does Hostinger support Joomla?

Yes. Hostinger’s US Joomla hosting page advertises one-click Joomla setup on its shared-hosting plans, along with features such as SSL/TLS, caching, backups, and support. These are the provider’s descriptions; they do not establish how a particular Joomla site will perform. See Hostinger’s Joomla hosting offer.

Hostinger also lists Joomla among the open-source CMS platforms it supports for migration. Before moving a live site, make a full backup and verify that your site’s extensions, configuration, and restore process are compatible. The migration guidance does not promise a particular completion time or guarantee a successful transfer. Hostinger migration guidance.

How much does Hostinger Joomla hosting cost?

The US Joomla page displays the following rates for a 48-month term paid upfront. Its monthly figures divide the total price by the term; they are not month-to-month prices. These are the page’s displayed prices, not a guarantee of your checkout price. Prices, discounts, availability, and terms can vary by country and change.

Plan Displayed monthly rate Upfront price for 48 months Listed renewal rate Sites, storage, and backups shown
Single $1.99/month $95.52 $8.99/month 1 website, 10 GB SSD, weekly backups
Premium $2.99/month $143.52 $10.99/month 3 websites, 20 GB SSD, weekly backups
Unlimited $3.99/month $191.52 $16.99/month Unlimited websites, 50 GB NVMe, daily backups with restore

The offer describes “unlimited” features as subject to fair-use terms. Confirm the current plan details and the total checkout amount for your region before buying. The page also advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, with exclusions that may apply. Plan and offer details.

What should you check beyond the headline price?

Resource limits and fair use

Website count and storage do not tell you how much processing capacity your Joomla site can use. Hostinger says resource limits depend on the plan and directs customers to the plan’s Details section in hPanel. It warns that resource overages can result in errors such as HTTP 503 responses. Check the limits that apply to your selected plan and market rather than assuming fixed CPU, RAM, inode, database, or upload allowances. Hostinger’s resource-limit guidance.

Backups and restore options

Weekly backups are listed for Single and Premium, while Unlimited lists daily backups with restore. Check what is included in your current offer and how restoration works for your account. For a migration, keep your own verified full backup rather than relying solely on the hosting plan’s backup schedule.

What does the performance evidence show?

TechRadar’s 2026 review reports 99.96% uptime over 10 weeks for its monitored test site. For the last seven days of monitoring, it reports an average response time of 382 ms, with measured responses from 171 ms to 1.73 seconds. These observations describe that reviewer’s test site and period; they are not a Hostinger guarantee and do not measure a Joomla installation specifically. TechRadar’s 2026 review.

Separately, Hostinger advertises 99.9% uptime on its Joomla page. That is the provider’s claim, not an independently measured result. Shared hosting means customers share server resources, so results can depend on a site’s workload and plan. Neither figure establishes what your own site will experience.

Can you move an existing Joomla site?

Hostinger’s migration guidance includes Joomla, and its Joomla page recommends a full backup before transfer. It names Akeeba Backup as one plugin that can back up and restore Joomla sites. Treat that as one possible method, not a guarantee that every site or extension will transfer without extra work.

  1. Make a complete backup. Include the site files and database, and verify that you can access the backup before beginning.
  2. Check the destination plan. Review its resource limits, storage, and backup/restore details in the current regional offer and hPanel plan information.
  3. Follow the migration and restore steps for your site. Confirm compatibility for your Joomla version, extensions, and configuration; the available migration guidance does not specify a universal duration.
  4. Test the transferred site before changing where visitors go. Check key pages and site functions, and retain the original backup until the new installation is verified.

Who is Hostinger Joomla hosting a good fit for?

It may fit a personal, small-business, or early-stage Joomla site if its resource use is appropriate for shared hosting and the owner values a guided control panel, one-click installation, and included backups. The available evidence does not establish a universal traffic threshold or a Joomla-specific capacity recommendation.

If your site has demanding workloads, first determine whether the plan’s resource limits leave enough headroom. When comparing plans, weigh the full upfront cost and renewal rate alongside site count, storage, backup frequency and restore options, fair-use terms, migration needs, and performance evidence relevant to your location and workload.

Verdict

Hostinger is worth considering for a Joomla site that fits shared hosting, especially if the 48-month upfront commitment works for your budget. Do not choose based on the displayed monthly rate alone: account for the listed renewal price, verify your region’s current terms and plan limits, and treat the published performance figures as claims or observations about other setups—not a Joomla benchmark.
