The Lofree Flow 2 is a well-built low-profile mechanical keyboard that reviewers praise for its typing feel. Its main drawback is an unusual touch-sensitive strip on the right edge: it handles volume and brightness, but one reviewer found it fiddly. The keyboard comes in 68-, 84-, and 100-key layouts, so the best fit depends on whether you need a number pad, which switch feel you prefer, and whether you can live with that touch control.
What is the Lofree Flow 2?
The Flow 2 is a family of low-profile mechanical keyboards in three layouts: 68 keys (65%), 84 keys (75%), and 100 keys (96%). Lofree’s 100-key product page lists an aluminum body, PBT + PC double-shot keycaps, white backlighting, hot-swappable switches, and a choice of 0° or 7° typing angle.
The 100-key model measures 398.2 × 126 × 21.5 mm and weighs 870 g, according to Lofree. It supports Windows, Android, macOS, iPadOS, and iOS, and connects over USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3, or 2.4GHz. Lofree lists a 1000Hz polling rate for wired and 2.4GHz connections. These specifications describe the 100-key model; check the selected configuration for details before buying.
How does the Flow 2 feel to type on?
Reviewers generally rate its construction and typing quality highly. RTINGS describes an anodized aluminum case, factory-lubed switches and stabilizers, and a gasket mount that adds some cushion when keys bottom out. It found the keyboard comfortable to use without a wrist rest, helped by its low profile. RTINGS also notes that the tactile switch option is somewhat loud.
#1 Best Overall
- CNC Forging:Precision CNC machining accurate to 0.01 mm shapes aluminum into a clean, solid unibody with no seams. Finished with a precise #205-grit bead-blasted anodization for scratch resistance and fingerprint protection.
- Unibody Anodized Aluminum Alloy:Features a solid, flat base plate crafted from a single piece of material, with rounded corners that eliminate sharp edges—delivering a sleek look while maintaining ergonomic comfort.
- Cloud Series Switches:Offering linear, tactile, and silent linear options. Three low-profile mechanical switches engineered for exceptional smoothness and control. Each switch features advanced self-lubricating POM material to reduce friction and deliver a satisfyingly smooth keystroke—offering a lighter press, stable bottom-out, and resilient initial feedback. They enhance crisp responsiveness and lighter actuation while maintaining smooth travel. A linear silent pre-lubricated option is also available, providing a whisper-soft, deeply satisfying tactile experience.
- Side Touch Bar:Swipe to control—command at your fingertips. A capacitive touch bar built into the side replaces traditional knobs and buttons with smooth gestures, designed for both efficiency and style, putting full control right where your fingers rest.
- Gasket Mount: The housing fully unlocks the potential of the gasket structure, enabling precise calibration with five layers of sound-dampening material for exceptional feel and acoustics.
Tom’s Guide describes the keycaps as PBT on top with a translucent PC layer for the legends. In its own test, it recorded roughly 4% better typing accuracy than on the original Flow while maintaining the same speed. That result applies to Tom’s Guide’s test, not to typists generally.
Sound depends on the reviewer and sample
Sound impressions are not uniform. PC Gamer found the sound pleasing and “thocky,” while noting that the space bar sounded different. Tom’s Guide reported substantial noise from the two units it tested and counted it as a drawback. The available reviews do not isolate why their impressions differ, so treat sound as something that may depend on the switch configuration, individual sample, or testing setup rather than a guaranteed character of every Flow 2.
What is wrong with the touch bar?
The Flow 2 has a touch-sensitive strip along its right edge. PC Gamer says it controls system volume by default and screen brightness when used with the Function key. The reviewer found it fiddly and not responsive at the desired speed, making it less convenient than a tactile control.

Tom’s Guide notes that the case is wider than earlier Flow models to accommodate the touch-bar hardware, status light, and branding. The practical compromise is therefore more than an unfamiliar control: the strip takes up space while providing a touch surface that one reviewer found frustrating to use. If you want a conventional volume knob or dedicated gaming controls, this design may not suit you.
PC Gamer also notes that the backlight is white only; there is no RGB option. VIA support is available for remapping keys and creating macros, and Lofree describes the board as fully customizable through VIA. That vendor claim should not be confused with independent validation of every possible remapping workflow.
Which Flow 2 size and switches should you choose?
Choose the layout for your desk and work
- 68-key (65%): The smallest option in the lineup. Choose it if desk space matters most and you do not need a number pad.
- 84-key (75%): A middle ground between a compact footprint and a fuller set of keys.
- 100-key (96%): The option with a number pad, useful for frequent data entry if you have room for the wider board.
Choose the switch feel you want
Tom’s Guide identifies Surfer as linear, Void as silent linear, and Pulse as tactile. RTINGS cautions that the tactile option is somewhat loud. Switch and layout availability can vary by seller or configuration, so confirm the exact combination on the listing you intend to buy.

Check connections, lighting, and key legends
The 100-key model’s official specifications list USB-C wired, Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.4GHz connections. RTINGS describes Bluetooth multi-device pairing and a 2.4GHz receiver for the lineup. Lofree lists white backlighting and a 0° or 7° typing angle for the 100-key model.

For the 100-key model, Lofree claims up to 120 hours over Bluetooth with the backlight off, or up to 14 hours with it on. These are manufacturer estimates, not independently measured results, and actual runtime will depend on use.

Review-time prices are not current quotes. PC Gamer listed the smallest version at $139 at the time of its review. Tom’s Guide reported prices of $139–$169 through Lofree and $149–$179 at Amazon, depending on size. Check the current price and confirm the selected size and switch configuration with the seller.
Is the Lofree Flow 2 worth it?
The Flow 2 makes sense if you want a premium, low-profile mechanical keyboard with an aluminum build, hot-swappable switches, and a typing feel reviewers generally liked. Its touch strip is a meaningful usability compromise rather than a feature everyone will appreciate, and the lack of RGB or a dedicated volume knob may rule it out for some buyers. Pick the size and switch based on your daily use, and decide whether you are willing to trade a more conventional control for the Flow 2’s distinctive design.
