To get Siri AI, you need a supported Apple device running its required operating-system version, with the device language and Siri language set to the same supported language. Then open Settings > Siri > Try Siri AI (Beta), complete the setup prompts, and wait for enrollment and the automatic download. Siri AI is currently described by Apple as a beta, and joining the waitlist does not guarantee immediate access.
Check whether your device is supported
Apple’s current Siri AI setup page lists these device and software combinations. Having a device that can install the listed operating system is not enough: the exact model must also qualify.

Apple’s separate Apple Intelligence requirements page also lists storage needs that can change with software updates: up to 8 GB on many eligible iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro models, up to 14 GB on specified higher-tier models, and up to 1.5 GB on Apple Watch. Check that page for the requirement for your specific device before freeing storage.

Apple currently documents Siri AI in English. Your device language and Siri language must match a supported language. This requirement is distinct from the broader language support for Apple Intelligence overall.

- European Union: Apple says Siri AI is unavailable on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS in the EU. On macOS 27 Golden Gate and visionOS 27, Apple says it is available there when the Apple Account region is in the EU and both the device and Siri languages are English.
- Mainland China: Apple says Siri AI will not currently work when the Apple Account region is mainland China.
- Travel: Apple says that after Siri AI is enabled, it continues to work when you travel to other regions.
Apple’s September 2026 announcement said French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish support was coming the following month. That announcement was a forecast, not confirmation of a completed rollout. For the language currently available on your device, use Apple’s live availability information.
Update and enroll in Siri AI
- Install the required operating-system version. Update your eligible device to the version listed for its platform above. Apple’s setup instruction is to update the device first, then open Siri settings.
- Set matching languages. Set the device language and Siri language to the same language supported for Siri AI. Apple’s currently documented language is English.
- Open Siri settings. On the device, go to Settings > Siri. If Siri is turned off, turn it on first.
- Choose “Try Siri AI (Beta).” Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a voice, complete voice enrollment, and review the privacy settings.
- Wait for enrollment and download. Apple says enrollment adds you to a waitlist; wait times vary. When your turn comes, Siri AI downloads automatically. Apple does not publish a fixed wait time in its setup instructions.
These steps follow Apple Support’s Siri AI setup instructions, published September 22, 2026. There is no separate accessory or paid setup item in those instructions.

If “Try Siri AI (Beta)” does not appear
Check the requirements in this order so you can identify whether the issue is eligibility, settings, availability, or a pending download:

- Confirm the exact model. Compare the model name—not just the product family—with Apple’s current supported list. An operating-system update alone does not make an unsupported model eligible.
- Confirm the platform version. Make sure the device is running the version Apple lists for that device category.
- Match the languages. Check that the device language and Siri language are identical and currently supported.
- Check region and platform restrictions. Apply Apple’s EU and mainland China availability rules to the device and Apple Account region.
- Check enrollment status. If you already followed the prompts, you may be waiting for the waitlist or automatic download; Apple does not specify a set duration.
Apple’s published eligibility and setup instructions do not validate methods for bypassing hardware eligibility. If your model is not on Apple’s supported list, changing settings cannot be treated as an Apple-approved way to get Siri AI.

What Siri AI adds after setup
Apple describes Siri AI as able to use personal context across messages, email, photos, calendar, notes, and reminders; respond to questions about onscreen content; take actions in apps; answer broader web questions; and help with writing and editing. Apple also describes a dedicated Siri app with conversation history synced across devices through iCloud, along with Visual Intelligence interactions using a camera, screenshot, keyboard shortcut, or—in Vision Pro—your surroundings.
Features vary by operating system, device, language, and region. Apple says expressive voices and more advanced dictation depend on its AFM Core Advanced on-device model and higher-tier hardware, so the feature set is not identical across every eligible device.
