Samsung Health and Google Fit do not sync directly. To share supported records between them, connect both apps to Health Connect on an Android phone, then grant access to the data types you want to share.
What the connection does—and does not do
Health Connect acts as a shared data layer between the apps. Samsung Health can exchange supported records with Health Connect, and Google Fit can access records permitted there. This is an indirect connection, not a native Samsung Health-to-Google Fit link. Samsung’s support page puts it plainly: “Google Fit and Samsung Health data cannot be synced, however the watch can still track data in both apps.” Samsung Support
This setup is for Android. It does not mean Samsung Health data automatically appears in Google Fit on every device, nor that every metric is shared. Both apps must have the relevant access, and the record type must be supported and available in the installed app versions.

- Use an Android phone with Samsung Health, Google Fit, and Health Connect available. Google Fit’s documented Health Connect connection is Android-only. On some phones, Health Connect is accessible through Android Settings or already installed as a system service. Google Fit Help
- Update Samsung Health and Google Fit if updates are available, and check that their settings include Health Connect.
- Decide which data types and direction of access you need. Health Connect permissions distinguish reading from writing; grant only the categories and access required for your use.
Samsung says Samsung Health has synchronized data with Health Connect since version 6.22.5, released in October 2022. That historical feature threshold does not guarantee that every phone can install every current app version or exposes the same settings. Samsung Developer: Health Connect FAQ

Connect Samsung Health and Google Fit through Health Connect
- Enable Samsung Health access. Open Samsung Health and go to Settings → Health Connect. If prompted, tap Get started. Choose the record categories to share and approve the requested permissions. Samsung notes that read and write access are separate, so select the access needed for the intended data flow. Samsung Developer
- Enable Google Fit access. Open Google Fit and tap Profile → Settings → Health Connect settings. Turn on Sync Fit with Health Connect, then review the permissions and categories Fit may access or edit. Google Fit Help
- Check Health Connect permissions. Review connected apps and allowed record types in Google Fit’s Health Connect settings, or open Health Connect through Android Settings. Make sure the categories you care about are permitted for the relevant app.
- Wait for the source record to arrive. If the data comes from a Galaxy Watch, it first transfers to Samsung Health on the phone. Only after that can it be shared onward through Health Connect.
Menu wording and placement can vary by phone, Android release, app version, and language. If a label differs, look for Health Connect settings within Samsung Health and Google Fit rather than following screenshots from an older build.
Which Samsung Health records may appear in Google Fit?
Samsung’s summary identifies activity data such as steps and exercise, heart rate, and sleep as categories synchronized between Samsung Health and Health Connect. Its more detailed technical guide lists possible mapped record types including steps, blood glucose, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, exercise sessions, exercise calories, distance, heart rate, power, speed, and VO2 max. That technical list is not a promise that every category will show in Google Fit. Availability depends on permissions, Samsung Health version, the record’s source, and support in the receiving app. Some listed values apply specifically to exercise-tracker data. Samsung describes synchronization in both directions between Samsung Health and Health Connect; Google Fit’s documentation describes its access to records allowed in Health Connect. A record’s presence in one app therefore does not guarantee an identical display or value in the other.
Fix missing or delayed data
Samsung Health is missing from Health Connect, or no Samsung records appear
- Update Samsung Health, then open Samsung Health → Settings → Health Connect → App permissions and enable the categories you need.
- If you changed permissions from Android Settings, launch Samsung Health afterward so it can refresh its connection.
- Check that Samsung Health is allowed to write the record type you expect to share.
Google Fit does not show shared records
- In Google Fit, verify that Profile → Settings → Health Connect settings → Sync Fit with Health Connect is on.
- In Health Connect, confirm the relevant category is permitted for Google Fit and that Samsung Health can provide that category.
- Check whether you are looking at the same record type and date range in both apps. Different apps may support or present records differently.
Google says disconnecting Health Connect stops Fit from accessing or editing Health Connect data. Google Fit Help

Records are stale or a watch measurement is delayed
- Open Samsung Health and, if the data comes from a Galaxy Watch, allow the watch to transfer its records to the phone.
- In Samsung Health, use Settings → Sync with Samsung account → Sync now to request an account sync.
- Allow for timing differences: Samsung says watch-to-phone synchronization follows its synchronization policy, and continuous heart-rate data may be delayed to conserve battery.
Changing Health Connect permissions or refreshing an account sync cannot make an unsupported record type appear. If only some metrics are missing, check that category’s permission and whether the installed versions support it.

Samsung also describes Google Fit trackers running on supported Wear OS Galaxy Watch models. That allows a watch to track data in Google Fit separately; it does not make Samsung Health records sync directly into Google Fit. Samsung’s cited support page identifies Watch4, Watch5, and Watch6 as Wear OS examples and says earlier Tizen-based Galaxy Watch models are incompatible with those Google Fit trackers. Check current model support before relying on a particular watch feature. Samsung Support
