The short answer is that the “up to $500 off” figure is not confirmed by any source we can check. Microsoft’s product page for the 13-inch Surface Pro, 11th Edition, captured on October 9, 2026, showed a $989.99 starting price and a “Save up to $600.00” banner. Neither is a $500 price cut on a named configuration. The one Microsoft offer with a dollar amount in its terms is a trade-in that pays conditional cash back, which is not the same thing as a lower price.
Treat the $500 claim as unverified until you can see a specific configuration, at a specific retailer, at a specific price, on the day you plan to buy.
What Microsoft’s page actually shows
The Microsoft Store listing for the 13-inch Surface Pro, 11th Edition, gives a starting price of $989.99. The “Save up to $600.00” banner is a ceiling, not a price. It does not say which configuration qualifies, how much each one is reduced, or whether the reduction is still running. Banners like this usually change with promotions, so a snapshot from one day tells you little about the next.

Terms can differ by country, so confirm them at checkout rather than assuming they apply to your order.
A $500 reduction from $989.99 would leave $489.99. That figure does not appear anywhere in the material reviewed, so do not treat it as a listed price.
Which Surface Pro 11th Edition you are looking at
“Surface Pro 11th Edition” covers two different Microsoft models with different processors, so check which one a deal refers to before comparing prices. Microsoft’s consumer 13-inch model is a Copilot+ PC built on Snapdragon X processors. Microsoft also documents a separate business edition built on Intel Core Ultra processors. The specifications below should not be mixed.

If a retailer deal names a Core Ultra chip, it is describing the business model. If it names a Snapdragon X chip, it is describing the consumer model. Do not carry specifications from one into a listing for the other.

Trade-in is not a discount
Microsoft’s trade-in offers can look like a price cut, but they work differently. A trade-in pays cash back that depends on the device you buy and the value of the device you hand in. It is not a reduction on the price shown at checkout.

The August–September 2026 offer has ended
Microsoft’s configuration page described a US trade-in promotion for purchases from August 3 through September 30, 2026. That period had passed by October 9, 2026, so it should not be used as a current offer.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe October–December 2026 Microsoft Store offer
A separate Microsoft Store page describes a trade-in promotion running October 1 through December 31 for qualifying purchases in the US and Canada. Cash back depends on the purchased device and the trade-in value, and eligibility and mailing conditions apply. The offer is operated by Teladvance and is not sponsored by Microsoft. Because the amount is conditional, do not describe it as a universal $500 discount.

A keyboard and a pen are sold separately from the tablet, so check whether your order includes them before comparing totals. Microsoft lists compatible 13-inch keyboards, including the Flex Keyboard, which Microsoft describes as an optional accessory that can also be used detached. The Surface Slim Pen (2nd Edition) is the pen to look for in a handwriting or drawing setup. Bundle contents depend on the listing, so check the SKU or the retailer’s item list before assuming either accessory is included.

Battery figures and what they measure
The battery numbers Microsoft publishes for the Intel business model are up to 10 hours of active web use and up to 14 hours of local video playback. These come from Microsoft’s own January 2025 testing on preproduction hardware and software, under the test settings Microsoft describes. They are manufacturer results, not a guarantee for every edition, workload, or screen brightness. The consumer Snapdragon listing reviewed does not state comparable battery figures.
How to check a sale before you buy
- Open the Microsoft Store product page for the 13-inch Surface Pro, 11th Edition, and identify the processor, display, memory, and storage of the configuration you want.
- Read the price for that exact configuration. Treat any “Save up to” banner as a maximum that may not apply to your configuration.
- Repeat the check at any other retailer. Compare the same processor, memory, storage, and display, and note whether each listing includes a keyboard or pen.
- Check the date on any promotion. Retailer prices move, and a promotion that was live recently may have ended.
- Read the trade-in terms separately, including eligibility, the country, and how cash back is paid, and do not add the amount to the price as if it were a discount.
- At checkout, confirm the return window, price protection, and shipping terms for your country.
A Windows Central deal roundup dated October 6, 2026 noted Surface promotions around Amazon Big Deal Days and said retailer prices fluctuate. That roundup did not confirm the configuration or the $500 checkout price behind this headline, so it is context rather than proof of the offer.
Based on the sources reviewed, the “up to $500 off” headline cannot be confirmed for a specific Surface Pro 11th Edition configuration. Use the steps above on the day you buy, and treat any figure you cannot match to a live SKU and checkout price as unconfirmed.
