Changedetection.io lässt sich auf einem VPS mit Docker zuverlässig betreiben. Eine verifizierte Ein-Klick-Installation eines bestimmten VPS-Anbieters gibt es nach den offiziellen Projektquellen jedoch nicht belegt. Das Projekt dokumentiert einen Start über Docker Compose oder über einen einzelnen Container. Wer dennoch eine Ein-Klick-Vorlage findet, sollte sie wie jede andere Fremd-Software prüfen, bevor er sie nutzt.
Was „Ein-Klick“ hier realistisch bedeutet
Im Zusammenhang mit Changedetection.io bezeichnen zwei Dinge den Begriff. Die erste Bedeutung ist der Docker-Start des Projekts selbst: Man legt die Compose-Datei an, führt einen Befehl aus und hat einen laufenden Dienst. Die zweite Bedeutung ist ein Marketplace-Image oder ein Template, das ein VPS-Anbieter anbietet. Nur die zweite Variante wäre im engeren Sinn eine Ein-Klick-Installation, und genau sie ist in den geprüften offiziellen Quellen nicht belegt.
Der folgende Ablauf funktioniert daher ohne Anbieter-Vorlage. Er beruht auf der offiziellen Projektdokumentation, Stand Oktober 2026. Images, Tags und Compose-Datei ändern sich, deshalb solltest du die aktuelle README des Projekts unmittelbar vor dem Start abgleichen.
Voraussetzungen
- Ein Linux-VPS mit SSH-Zugang und einem Benutzer mit sudo-Rechten.
- Docker Engine sowie das Compose-Plugin. Prüfe beides mit
docker --versionunddocker compose version. - Mindestressourcen (RAM, CPU, Speicher) sind in den geprüften Projektquellen nicht angegeben. Ein Dienst ohne Browser-Ergänzung ist leichter als ein Betrieb mit Playwright. Den tatsächlichen Bedarf siehst du mit
free -hunddocker statsnach dem Start. - Optional eine Domain, wenn die Oberfläche später über HTTPS erreichbar sein soll.
Variante A: Installation mit Docker Compose
Compose ist der bessere Weg, wenn die Konfiguration wiederholbar bleiben soll. Die Compose-Datei liegt im Projekt-Repository, das den Namen dgtlmoon/changedetection.io trägt.

git clone. Die aktuelle Adresse findest du in der offiziellen README. Wechsle danach mitcd changedetection.ioin das Verzeichnis. - Prüfe die Compose-Datei. Laut Projektdokumentation verwendet sie das Image
ghcr.io/dgtlmoon/changedetection.io, ein benanntes Volume für/datastore,restart: unless-stoppedund die Portbindung127.0.0.1:5000. - Starte den Dienst mit
docker compose up -d. - Kontrolliere den Status mit
docker compose ps. Der Container sollte als laufend angezeigt werden. - Teste die Erreichbarkeit direkt auf dem Server mit
curl -I http://127.0.0.1:5000. Erwartet ist eine HTTP-Antwort, typischerweise200 OK. Bleibt die Antwort aus, zeigtdocker compose logs --tail=50die Ursache.
Variante B: Einzelcontainer mit docker run
Wer keine Compose-Datei verwenden möchte, startet den Dienst als einzelnen Container. Die offizielle README zeigt dafür das Image dgtlmoon/changedetection.io, die Portbindung 127.0.0.1:5000:5000 und ein Volume für /datastore. Der folgende Befehl kombiniert diese Angaben mit dem Neustart-Verhalten der Compose-Datei:

-v changedetection-data:/datastore
--restart unless-stopped
dgtlmoon/changedetection.ioDer Befehl ist vollständig, wenn du alle späteren Änderungen am Container ebenfalls über docker run und nicht über eine Compose-Datei vornimmst. Ein Mischbetrieb beider Varianten mit demselben Volume ist fehleranfällig.

Zugriff: Warum der Dienst zunächst nur lokal erreichbar ist
Die offizielle Compose-Datei bindet den Dienst an 127.0.0.1:5000. Der Port ist damit nicht direkt aus dem Internet erreichbar, auch wenn er über Docker veröffentlicht wird. Das ist eine bewusste Voreinstellung und kein Fehler. Für den Zugriff gibt es zwei Wege.

Temporärer Zugriff über SSH-Tunnel
Für erste Tests ist ein SSH-Tunnel der schnellste und sicherste Weg. Führe auf deinem lokalen Rechner aus:
ssh -L 5000:127.0.0.1:5000 benutzer@server-adresseSolange die Verbindung besteht, öffnest du auf deinem Rechner http://localhost:5000.
Dauerhafter Zugriff über Reverse Proxy
Für eine dauerhaft erreichbare Oberfläche brauchst du einen Reverse Proxy, der HTTPS terminiert und den Zugang absichert. Die Compose-Datei verweist auf eine Reverse-Proxy-Konfiguration und nennt BASE_URL als Option. Damit kannst du die öffentliche Adresse hinterlegen. Eine fertige TLS- oder Proxy-Konfiguration lässt sich aus den Projektquellen nicht ableiten. Erstelle sie separat und prüfe sie gegen die aktuelle Dokumentation deines Proxys.

Öffne in der Firewall nur die Ports, die der Proxy braucht. Port 5000 gehört nicht dazu. Mit sudo ufw allow 80/tcp und sudo ufw allow 443/tcp bleibt der Dienst selbst intern.

JavaScript-Seiten und der Playwright-Browserdienst
Changedetection.io bringt einen eingebauten Fetcher mit, der für einfache HTML-Seiten die Grundoption ist. Seiten, die ihre Inhalte erst durch JavaScript laden, lassen sich damit unter Umständen nicht korrekt auslesen. Dafür dokumentiert das Projekt einen optionalen Playwright-Browserdienst.

Playwright in der Compose-Datei aktivieren
- Öffne die Compose-Datei im Projektverzeichnis und suche den auskommentierten Playwright-Block.
- Entferne die Kommentarzeichen des Blocks. Übernimm die Umgebungsvariable
PLAYWRIGHT_DRIVER_URLmit dem Wert aus der aktuellen Projektdatei, nicht aus einer älteren Anleitung. - Starte den Stack neu mit
docker compose up -d. - Wähle im jeweiligen Watch die Playwright-basierte Abrufmethode. Die genaue Bezeichnung hängt von der aktuellen Oberfläche ab.
Browser Steps werden vor jeder Prüfung erneut ausgeführt. Hinterlegst du dort Zugangsdaten, nutze am besten ein eigenes Konto mit minimalen Rechten. Die Zugangsdaten landen so nicht im Klartext in Notizen oder Skripten, und du kannst sie bei Bedarf widerrufen, ohne dein Hauptkonto zu ändern.

Benachrichtigungen einrichten und testen
Changedetection.io unterstützt zahlreiche Benachrichtigungsdienste über Apprise. Die Benachrichtigungs-URL legst du je Watch fest. Das Projekt garantiert allerdings keine Zustellung. Teste deshalb jeden Kanal nach der Einrichtung, indem du eine Änderung provozierst oder die Testfunktion nutzt, und prüfe, ob die Nachricht tatsächlich ankommt.
Updates und Datensicherung
Der offizielle Update-Befehl für die Compose-Variante lautet docker compose pull && docker compose up -d. Ein Update ersetzt jedoch keine Sicherung der Daten. Sichere das Volume vor jedem Update.

docker volume ls. Bei Compose trägt es meist den Projektnamen als Präfix. - Erstelle ein Archiv, zum Beispiel mit
docker run --rm -v VOLUMENNAME:/data -v "$(pwd)":/backup alpine tar czf /backup/changedetection-datastore.tar.gz -C /data .. ErsetzeVOLUMENNAMEdurch den Namen aus Schritt 1. - Führe das Update mit
docker compose pull && docker compose up -daus. - Prüfe das Ergebnis mit
docker compose psunddocker compose logs --tail=50.
Bewahre das Archiv außerhalb des VPS auf, sonst geht es bei einem Ausfall des Servers mit verloren.
Checkliste für eine Ein-Klick-Vorlage eines Anbieters
Falls dein VPS-Anbieter eine Ein-Klick-App für Changedetection.io anbietet, prüfe vor dem Start die folgenden Punkte. Nur wenn alle erfüllt sind, ist die Vorlage für den Betrieb brauchbar.

Häufige Probleme
- Die Oberfläche ist von außen nicht erreichbar. Das ist bei der Standardbindung an
127.0.0.1erwartet. Nutze den SSH-Tunnel oder einen Reverse Proxy. - Der Container startet nicht dauerhaft. Prüfe mit
docker compose logs, ob ein Konflikt auf Port 5000 oder ein Volume-Problem vorliegt. - Eine JavaScript-Seite liefert leere oder veraltete Inhalte. Aktiviere den Playwright-Browserdienst und stelle den Watch entsprechend um.
- Benachrichtigungen kommen nicht an. Prüfe die URL des jeweiligen Watches und teste den Kanal gesondert, bevor du die Ursache beim Projekt suchst.
