Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Mobile will be shut down. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027, according to the October 8, 2026 announcement from Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Mobile development team. Ubisoft did not say the game would go offline on the day of the announcement. Ubisoft’s official title is Rainbow Six Mobile, not “Rainbow Six Siege Mobile,” so this article uses the official name.
What Ubisoft has confirmed
- The decision: Ubisoft’s development team says it has decided to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile.
- The final availability date: January 15, 2027, stated in Ubisoft’s shutdown message.
- The next season: the message says it is still planned for the week after the announcement, as scheduled.
- The reason: none is given. The official message does not explain the decision.

Where the “seven months” figure comes from
The headline’s figure is an approximation. From the February 24, 2026 global-launch post to the October 8, 2026 announcement is about seven and a half months. It measures the time since worldwide release, not the game’s whole life. Ubisoft says the game had an early launch in 2023 and ran for 15 seasons, so the title existed in some form well before its global launch.

Ubisoft’s advance announcement scheduled the global launch for February 23, while its launch post dated February 24 confirms the game was live worldwide. If exact dates matter, cite the February 24 post for the launch and the February 23 announcement for the scheduled date.

How much notice players have
The announcement came roughly three months and a week before the final availability date. That is a shorter window than the game’s launch history might suggest, but it is the period Ubisoft has stated.

The game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will arrive next week, as planned.” This is a translation, not Ubisoft’s own English wording. The Kotaku report on the announcement quotes an English version of the statement, so readers who need the exact English text should check that report or Ubisoft’s own channels.

What the announcement does not say
Ubisoft gives no reason for the shutdown. The message does not link the decision to player numbers, revenue, performance, or criticism, and this article does not attribute the decision to any of them.
Secondary coverage has reported claims of millions of downloads and player criticism. Those reports are not connected to the decision in Ubisoft’s message, so they should be read as context, not as the explanation for the closure.

Playing until January 15, 2027
Ubisoft describes Rainbow Six Mobile as a free-to-play game for iOS and Android. The most recent season identified in Ubisoft’s official material is Operation Concrete Impact, which was announced on September 9, 2026 and scheduled through October 13. Ubisoft also describes Close Quarters as a permanent, mobile-exclusive 3v3 mode.

The title may be hard to find in the same form after the shutdown date, but Ubisoft’s statement does not say whether the app will be delisted from app stores on that day.
