Claude can now turn a question about connected business data into a dashboard: it generates and runs a SQL query for each chart, then shows the query and the data’s last refresh time so you can inspect what the charts count. The feature is in beta for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, and Anthropic positions it for quick exploration—not as a replacement for established business intelligence tools.

What Claude Dashboards does

Claude Dashboards connects to a supported data warehouse or another app already connected to Claude. You ask a question in natural language, and Claude builds a dashboard by writing and running SQL queries against that source. Anthropic’s examples include comparing signups across periods, breaking results down by plan or channel, and viewing Salesforce opportunities by stage and owner. Anthropic’s announcement and its Help Center guide describe the feature as a way to explore business data through charts.

Supported data warehouses named by Anthropic include Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, and Snowflake. You can also use another app connected to Claude, such as Salesforce. Availability of a particular connection can depend on what is connected and enabled for your account.

Who can use it and how to get started

As of Anthropic’s October 8, 2026 announcement and Help Center information, Dashboards is in beta on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. On Enterprise, an owner must enable it under Organization settings > Artifacts; Anthropic says Dashboards and Motion are off by default for Enterprise organizations. The feature counts toward the user’s plan usage limits.

  1. Connect a supported data warehouse or an app that is already available to Claude.
  2. In a chat, describe the business question you want answered. Alternatively, open the Artifacts tab and choose a Dashboards template.
  3. Review the generated dashboard, then ask Claude conversationally to refine it if needed.
  4. Inspect the query behind each chart and check when the data was last refreshed before relying on a figure.
  5. Share the dashboard if appropriate. Dashboards start private to their creator.

How to ask for a useful dashboard

Describe the information you want to understand, including the time period and breakdowns that matter. If you know the table or app to use, name it. Anthropic’s Help Center examples include:

  • “Build a dashboard of this quarter’s revenue by region.”
  • “Show weekly signups for the last six months, split by plan.”
  • “Make a dashboard of my open Salesforce opportunities by stage and owner.”
  • “How do this month’s signups by channel compare with last month’s?”

A request such as “make a bar chart” describes a presentation, but not necessarily the business question or the records to count. Naming the metric, period, grouping, and source gives Claude more context for the query it generates.

Check the query before trusting the chart

Each chart exposes the SQL Claude wrote and ran, and the dashboard shows when its data was last refreshed. This makes it possible to check whether the query reflects your intended definition—for example, whether “signups” means all signups or only a particular plan or period. If the query does not match what you meant, refine the request and inspect the revised query.

Visibility is useful, but it is not an accuracy guarantee. Anthropic’s product materials do not publish an independent accuracy or performance benchmark for Dashboards. Treat generated charts as something to verify against your data definitions and source, particularly when a figure will guide a consequential business decision.

When to use Claude Dashboards—and when to switch tools

Anthropic describes Dashboards as best suited to quick, exploratory questions, such as comparing signups across weeks or months. For deeper analysis, its announcement recommends continuing in another analytics tool. It names Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, and Sigma as destinations, and lists Looker, monday.com, and Tableau as coming soon. Those were the announcement’s statements at publication, not a guarantee that each integration is available or enabled for every account.

Whether it fits your workflow depends on more than how quickly a chart appears. Check that your source is connected and usable, that you can inspect the SQL and refresh timing, and that sharing and administrator controls suit your organization. For complex analysis, use the analytics environment that supports the depth and controls your work requires.
