You reach the Unmoored World during the final Dragon sequence by using the Empowered Godsbane Blade on the Arisen. There is no confirmed universal countdown: guides report a hidden time pressure tied to resting, so prioritize evacuations and objectives rather than relying on a fixed number of days.
What to do first in the Unmoored World
The Unmoored World changes enemy placements and terrain, introduces stronger enemy variants and red fog, and disables oxcarts. The main objectives are to recover your Main Pawn, establish the Seafloor Shrine as a hub, evacuate settlements, and resolve red-beacon Purgener encounters. Gamer Guides describes this as the route to the true ending (Halls of the First Dawn walkthrough, updated May 22, 2024).

- Recover your Main Pawn. Complete Dreams Apart.
- Go to the Seafloor Shrine. Begin Halls of the First Dawn and speak with Rothais. The shrine becomes the gathering point for evacuated people and services.
- Rescue settlements and handle red beacons. Their order is flexible; choose a route that suits your readiness and travel plans.
- Leave the shrine’s final beacon alone until you are ready to end the sequence. Activating it concludes the Unmoored World.
Gamer Guides recommends a route through Bakbattahl, Volcanic Island Camp, the Excavation Site, Vernworth, and Sacred Arbor as a safety-oriented option, not a required quest order. Routes can vary; use the map and your supplies to decide where to go next.
Settlement evacuation quests and where they lead
Each evacuation effort has its own quest. Complete the listed quest and its related steps to bring residents to the Seafloor Shrine. Dot Esports reports that the Vernworth effort also evacuates Harve.

Two ways to complete Wandering Roots
For the restorative route, plant an Arborheart Cutting at the Seafloor Shrine, then return to Taliesin. This method may depend on having completed the earlier quests The Ailing Arborheart and Out of the Forest, Into the Forge. Alternatively, speak to Taliesin three times until he agrees to evacuate. Gamer Guides reports quest rewards of 20,000 XP, 25,000 G, and 30 Wyrmslife Crystals; those figures are guide-reported (Wandering Roots walkthrough).
What red beacons do
Red beacons trigger Purgener boss encounters when activated with the Godsbane. Guides list encounters at Vernworth, Sacred Arbor, Bakbattahl, Volcanic Island Camp, and the Excavation Site, but their accounts differ about optional encounters and when some appear. Treat the location list as a guide to possible encounters, not a guaranteed fixed count or schedule. Dot Esports notes that the Excavation Site Purgener may appear later than others.

The final beacon at the Seafloor Shrine is different: activating it ends the Unmoored World sequence. Handle the settlements and any exploration or beacon objectives you want to finish before interacting with it. Prima Games says fog progression may stop after clearing objectives, but this is guide-reported advice rather than a confirmed universal rule (Prima Games time-limit guide, published April 1, 2024).
How much time do you have?
Resting advances the red-fog danger. Prima Games reported a limit of 12 in-game days in its April 2024 guide, while Gamer Guides describes a hidden pseudo-time limit without establishing a universal duration. No official Capcom source cited here confirms an exact day count. Avoid treating “12 days” as a guaranteed countdown for every run or situation.

- Prioritize the people and tasks you care about rather than spending time on unnecessary detours.
- Carry recovery items and plan a route before setting out; death is reported to return you to the first day of the Unmoored World.
Travel and survival without oxcarts
Oxcarts are unavailable in the Unmoored World, so travel between distant settlements takes more planning. Gamer Guides reports that Ferrystones are more plentiful from new chests and enemy or boss drops. Use Portcrystals and Ferrystones where available to reduce backtracking, and inspect the changed map before committing to a route. Stronger enemies make unnecessary detours riskier.

Keep the Seafloor Shrine’s final beacon untouched while you want to continue exploring or completing outstanding work. Once you activate it with the Godsbane, the sequence ends. The practical choice is between finishing optional objectives now and concluding the post-game sequence; there is no need to rush to the final beacon before you are ready.
