A deal report dated October 6, 2026, put the previous-generation 32GB Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition at $169.99, down from $249.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. That is an $80 reduction, or about 32% off the stated reference price—the “30 percent off” headline is rounded. The report does not confirm that price is still available at checkout, so check the seller’s current listing and stock before buying.
What the reported Kindle Paperwhite deal includes
The offer is for the last-generation Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition with 32GB of storage, not a generic Paperwhite listing. Cameron Faulkner’s deal report, syndicated by Yahoo Tech and dated October 6, 2026, named Amazon, Best Buy, and Target as sellers. The reported $169.99 price is $80 below the stated $249.99 reference price.
The 30% figure is a rounded description: $80 is about 32% of $249.99. The report does not establish whether the price remains live, how long it lasts, or whether each retailer still has stock. Verify the total and terms on the seller’s page at checkout.
How it compares with the redesigned Kindle Paperwhite
Amazon announced a redesigned Kindle family in October 2026. Its launch prices were $199.99 for the new standard Paperwhite and $249.99 for the new Signature Edition. That puts the reported prior-generation Signature Edition sale below the new standard model’s launch price, but the figures are from different generations and the older sale is not confirmed as current.

Amazon also describes the redesigned Paperwhite as waterproof and says it offers up to 12 weeks of battery life. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Amazon Vice President of Devices Kevin Keith said the new family uses a “newly designed reverse stack display construction” that is “a first for the e-reader category”; that category-first description is Amazon’s statement, not an independently verified comparison.
