Braun NEVO looks and feels like a premium electric shaver, and two hands-on reviewers report close, comfortable results. But its high price is harder to justify if you shave only occasionally or already own a Series 9 Pro+. The case for NEVO is strongest for daily shavers who value a refined build, automatic care and—on selected bundles—a travel charging case enough to accept its two-pin charging setup and ongoing cleaning supplies.
What is Braun NEVO?
NEVO is Braun’s premium foil-shaver platform, positioned above its established Series 9 Pro+ range. The UK lineup includes multiple configurations, including the 15000c and 17010c. Their colors, included accessories and prices can differ, so the model name alone does not tell you exactly what comes in the box. Braun’s NEVO range page and 17010c product page describe the platform and one specific configuration.
The 17010c page describes five shaving elements, an Ultra-Low Friction foil, 250 “diamond sharp” blades or edges, a processor that adapts power to beard density, and a display with battery and care prompts. Braun calls its system a 7-in-1 Care System: it cleans, lubricates, dries and charges the shaver. The described 17010c configuration also includes a travel PowerCase; other configurations may differ.

These are manufacturer descriptions, not proof that the shaver will work equally well on every beard or skin type. Braun also claims NEVO “shaves close and glides up to 24% better” than other Braun Series shavers. The product material reviewed does not establish the comparison’s methodology or sample, so treat that figure as marketing rather than independently verified performance.

Braun describes the UK model’s body as a stainless-steel unibody and says it is made in Germany. The shaver is marketed as waterproof, with a maximum runtime of 60 minutes and a five-minute quick-charge feature. Those are manufacturer specifications, not guaranteed results for every charging or shaving pattern.
How well does NEVO shave?
The independent hands-on reviews are positive about closeness and comfort, but they reflect two reviewers’ experiences rather than a universal result.
Close, comfortable results in two reviews
Leon Poultney used NEVO as his primary electric shaver for several weeks, first on several days of growth and then on daily short stubble. In his Expert Reviews review, published 31 July 2026, he reports good performance and says the shave was faster than the Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra in his comparison. That speed comparison is specific to his review, not a guarantee for other users.

Sean Zucker’s Men’s Health review, published 9 July 2026, describes a close, gentle dry shave. Compared with the Series 9 he used, he reports cleaner cutting around difficult neck areas with fewer passes, and suggests the slimmer head and lighter design may help. He also acknowledges that an electric shaver still needs repeat passes over some areas.
What the reviews do not establish
Neither reviewer establishes that NEVO is better than Series 9 Pro+ for everyone. Zucker praises NEVO’s closeness and comfort but stops short of ranking it above Series 9 Pro+ because of the price. The evidence also does not establish a best choice for every skin type, beard density or budget. One customer review hosted on Braun Shop UK reports needing repeated passes and says the result did not match a manual razor’s closeness; that is an individual account, not a representative test.
Build, display and charging
Poultney describes the fit and finish as among the best he has encountered in grooming products. He also notes that the metallic body readily picks up fingerprints. He found the full-colour display bright and readable, with battery and maintenance prompts, and reports that there is no dedicated Braun app.

Charging is a practical drawback in Poultney’s account: the Care Centre and Power Travel case use Braun’s traditional two-pin bathroom plug, rather than USB-C. As he puts it, “At this price, USB-C feels like an obvious omission.” The included travel case may be useful if you regularly travel, but Poultney considers it unnecessary for someone who mainly shaves at home.
Battery life and cleaning
Braun specifies up to 60 minutes of runtime and a five-minute quick charge on its UK product page. In two battery rundown tests, Poultney recorded 52 and 54 minutes. Those observed results are below Braun’s stated maximum; they do not establish what every owner should expect under a different use pattern. Zucker reports a different scenario: after about a month of short sessions, his shaver was still running on its initial charge. His experience is not directly comparable to a rundown test.
The Care System reduces the need to clean the shaver manually, but using the station takes time and space. Poultney reports that cleaning and drying are somewhat noisy and take around 10–15 minutes. Whether that trade-off suits you depends on whether you value dock-based care over rinsing or brushing the shaver yourself.

T3’s article offers price context, not hands-on performance validation; its writer says they have limited personal experience with electric shavers. Is NEVO worth the price?
For a daily shaver who values a close electric shave, refined build and automatic care, the premium may be easier to justify. For an occasional shaver, a buyer who does not need the travel case, or someone satisfied with a less expensive foil shaver, the extra spend may deliver less practical value. Compare the current price and box contents with Series 9 Pro+ and lower-priced alternatives rather than assuming NEVO’s product position means a better result for your needs.

Also account for the care system’s recurring cleaning cartridges. The sources do not establish a current local refill price or a dependable cartridge lifespan, so calculate those costs using the refill price and usage guidance for your market. Braun’s UK store hosts positive customer reviews, but some reviewers disclose receiving free samples; those testimonials are neither independent testing nor a representative survey.
Maintenance, replacement heads and warranty
Braun recommends replacing the NEVO head every 18 months for optimal shaving performance. The manufacturer identifies the original NEVO-S replacement head on its replacement-head page. Braun warns that using original parts avoids damage; this is the manufacturer’s warning, not independent evidence that all third-party heads cause damage.
Check the exact contents of the configuration you are buying. Depending on the model and market, the box may include the shaver, Care System, PowerCase, cleaning cartridge refill, brush and pouch. Braun warns that attachments may not be available in every country. Some UK bundles include a replacement head and CCR4 cartridge, but those items should not be assumed to come with every NEVO.
