A laptop can have a touchscreen without supporting an active pen, and pen support does not always mean a stylus is included in the box. That distinction matters more than a long specification sheet if you plan to annotate PDFs, sketch, mark up screenshots, or take handwritten notes.
The strongest verified choices in this guide are the HP Spectre x360 14 (2024), Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Gen 9, and Microsoft Surface Pro, 11th Edition. The remaining entries are stylus-compatible ASUS and Lenovo options whose exact pen bundle depends on the model number, generation, retailer, or market. Check the configuration before buying.

1. HP Spectre x360 14 (2024): best all-round pen-enabled convertible
The HP Spectre x360 14 is the clearest recommendation if you want a conventional Windows laptop that also works as a writing or drawing device. Its 360-degree hinge folds the display into stand, tent, or tablet-like positions, while the keyboard remains attached.

- 【RAM & Storage】This computer comes with 8GB RAM DDR5 | 512GB SSD
- 【AMD Radeon R5 220 Processor】The AMD Ryzen 5 220 is a mobile processor with 6 cores, launched in January 2025. It is part of the Ryzen 5 lineup, using the Zen 4 (Hawk Point) architecture with Socket FP8. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled, to 12 threads. Ryzen 5 220 has 16 MB of L3 cache and operates at 3.2 GHz by default, but can boost up to 4.9 GHz, depending on the workload.

- 【Other features】Integrated AMD Radeon 740 graphics, 2K touchscreen with IPS, AMD FreeSync Technology, Microsoft Copilot, Windows 11 Home OS.
- 【Bundle with Capacitive Stylus with Magnetic Cap】Stylus pen is made of aluminum alloy, which is light weight and very comfortable to hold, and it does not need to connect Bluetooth and does not need to be charged. The cap is magnetic and can absorb in the end of stylus pens.
At approximately 2.4 lb and 19 mm thick, it is portable without becoming a detachable tablet. The trade-off is that drawing in tablet mode still leaves the keyboard behind the screen, so it is less comfortable to hold than a true tablet.
Best for: students, office users, and creators who want one premium Windows laptop for typing, media, and handwritten input.
Important buying check: do not assume every retailer’s Spectre listing contains the same accessories. Confirm that the product description says the rechargeable active pen is included.
2. Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Gen 9: best premium Yoga option
Lenovo announced the Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Gen 9 at CES 2024. It retains the familiar convertible design and adds a Cosmic Blue color option. Lenovo describes the 14-inch Yoga 9i as supporting four modes: laptop, stand, tent, and tablet.
That range of positions makes the Yoga 9i a practical pen computer rather than merely a touchscreen notebook. Use laptop mode for typing, tent mode for presentations or recipes, and tablet mode for handwriting on a desk.
There is a naming trap here. A Lenovo product page cited for this guide is labeled Yoga 9i Gen 8, while the 2024 comparison material refers to the Yoga 9i Gen 9. Do not use the Gen 8 product page as proof that every Gen 9 retail configuration has the same accessories.
A reviewed Yoga 9i configuration bundled an active stylus with 4,096 pressure levels, tilt detection, and WGP, AES 2.0, and MPP 2.0 protocol support. Those numbers describe that pen ecosystem; they are not a reliable way to rank it against every competing stylus.
Best for: buyers who prefer Lenovo’s convertible design and want a premium 14-inch 2-in-1 with a pen-friendly workflow.
Important buying check: verify both the generation and the words “pen included” on the exact Lenovo or retailer configuration.

3. Microsoft Surface Pro, 11th Edition: best tablet-first choice
The 2024 Surface Pro, also called the Surface Pro, 11th Edition, is fundamentally different from the HP and Lenovo models. It is a detachable tablet with a built-in kickstand, not a 360-degree laptop. The keyboard attaches as an accessory.
Its main hardware distinction is the use of Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors. That makes it an Arm-based Windows PC rather than an Intel- or AMD-based x86 laptop. Application compatibility is broader than on earlier Arm-based Surface devices, but compatibility remains worth checking if your work depends on older Windows software, specialist drivers, utilities, or peripherals.
The Surface Pro is particularly appealing for reading, annotating, sketching, and handwriting because the screen can be used without the keyboard attached. It is less compelling if you expect a traditional laptop package at the advertised tablet price: the reviewed pricing information lists the non-Bluetooth keyboard from $139.99, with keyboard-and-pen options costing more.
Best for: people who want a tablet first and a laptop second, especially for note-taking and document markup.
Important buying check: budget separately for the keyboard and pen unless the specific bundle explicitly includes them. Also confirm that your essential applications work correctly on Windows Arm.
4. ASUS Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED: best lightweight ASUS candidate
The ASUS Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED is a 2024 2-in-1 candidate with stylus support. Its convertible format places it in the same broad category as the Spectre and Yoga: the display folds through a 360-degree hinge rather than detaching from the keyboard.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThis is a sensible model family to investigate if you want an OLED convertible and prefer ASUS’s Zenbook line. However, the available evidence verifies stylus support, not universal in-box pen inclusion. ASUS configurations can differ by country and retailer.
Best for: shoppers looking for a slim OLED convertible and willing to check the accessory list carefully.
Important buying check: search the exact model number and look for an explicit “stylus included” or “pen included” statement. “Touchscreen” alone is not enough.

5. ASUS ZenBook 14 Flip OLED UP3404: best 14-inch ASUS configuration to investigate
The ZenBook 14 Flip OLED UP3404 is a specific ASUS convertible configuration identified in the available buying-guide material. One listed configuration uses a 13th-generation Intel Core i7-1360P processor.

Best for: buyers who find a good deal on a clearly identified ZenBook 14 Flip configuration.
Important buying check: compare the full SKU, processor, memory, storage, operating system, and accessory list. Avoid assuming that a similarly named Zenbook includes the same stylus.
6. Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 8, 14-inch: best clearly documented older Yoga listing
This entry is intentionally separate from the 2024 Yoga 9i Gen 9. The cited Lenovo product page is for the Yoga 9i Gen 8, 14-inch Intel model, and its displayed configuration lists the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 as included.

It can therefore be a useful alternative when a retailer has remaining stock or a substantial discount. The four-mode convertible design—laptop, stand, tent, and tablet—makes it a better fit for laptop buyers than a detachable tablet.
The downside is generation confusion. A discounted Gen 8 may be good value, but it should not be presented as the 2024 Gen 9. Older stock can also have different memory, storage, display, and accessory configurations.
Best for: bargain hunters who want a Yoga convertible and find a verified Gen 8 bundle with the Precision Pen 2.
Important buying check: confirm the model is actually Gen 8 and that the pen appears in the “what’s included” section, not merely in a list of compatible accessories.

7. ASUS Zenbook Flip family: best for configuration-focused shoppers
“ASUS Zenbook Flip” covers more than one model and should not be treated as a single universal specification. The available evidence supports stylus compatibility for selected Zenbook Flip and Zenbook S 13 Flip models, but it does not establish that every retail configuration includes a pen.
This makes the family suitable for shoppers who are comfortable comparing exact listings. It may also create the best sale opportunities, since sellers can offer different processors, screens, memory, storage, and accessory bundles under closely related names.
Best for: experienced buyers who can identify the full model number and verify the accessory bundle before checkout.
Important buying check: ask three separate questions: does it have touch input, does it support an active stylus, and is the stylus included? A listing must answer all three if pen use is central to your purchase.

1. Choose the form factor first
- 360-degree convertible: HP Spectre and Lenovo Yoga models keep the keyboard attached and fold the display behind it.
- Detachable tablet: Surface Pro separates from its keyboard and is more natural to hold for tablet use.
Convertibles are usually the safer choice if you type for hours every day. A detachable is more attractive if handwriting, reading, and tablet use take priority.
2. Confirm active-pen support
A touchscreen detects fingers. An active pen requires a compatible digitizer and pen protocol. The product page should name the supported pen or explicitly state active-stylus support. Do not infer it from the word “touchscreen.”
3. Confirm that the pen is included
Look for a box such as “included accessories,” “what’s in the box,” or “package contents.” A compatibility statement only means that a pen can work with the laptop. The Surface Pro demonstrates why this matters: its keyboard and pen can be separate purchases or part of more expensive bundles.
4. Treat pressure-level figures cautiously
Lenovo’s reviewed pen supports 4,096 pressure levels and tilt detection, but pressure counts are not directly comparable across pen ecosystems. Different digitizers, drivers, pen tips, applications, and testing methods affect the experience. Prioritize low latency, palm rejection, comfortable shape, replacement nib availability, and software compatibility.

5. Check the hinge and writing position
A 360-degree laptop is often easiest to use in tent or tablet mode on a desk. A detachable tablet is easier to hold, but its keyboard and kickstand add separate setup steps. If you write frequently, consider where the pen will live when it is not in your hand; magnetic storage or an integrated loop is more convenient than a loose accessory.

6. Check operating-system compatibility
The Surface Pro’s Snapdragon X processor makes it an Arm-based Windows device. Before buying, check applications that use drivers, plug-ins, virtualization, legacy components, or specialist hardware. Intel-based Yoga, HP, and ASUS models do not present that same Arm-versus-x86 decision.
How to verify a listing before purchase
- Copy the complete model number from the retailer page.
- Open the manufacturer’s support or product page for that exact model.
- Find the display and input section and confirm touch plus active-pen support.
- Read the accessories or package-contents section for an explicit pen listing.
- Check whether the keyboard is included, especially with Surface Pro.
- Confirm the generation: Yoga 9i Gen 8 and Gen 9 are not interchangeable names.
- Save a screenshot of the bundle contents if the listing is likely to change.
Which one should you buy?
Buy the HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) if you want the most straightforward premium convertible package and the reviewed bundle’s included rechargeable pen. Choose the Lenovo Yoga 9i when its four-mode design and Lenovo pen ecosystem suit you, but verify the generation and SKU. Choose the Surface Pro, 11th Edition if tablet-first use matters more than a permanently attached keyboard and you are comfortable budgeting for accessories and checking Arm compatibility.
ASUS Zenbook Flip models can be good alternatives, particularly on sale, but they require more careful configuration checking. For every ASUS listing—and for Lenovo listings that differ from the cited configuration—treat pen inclusion as an item to verify rather than an assumption.

FAQ
Do all touchscreen laptops support a stylus?
No. Touchscreen support proves that the display accepts finger input, not that it has an active-pen digitizer. Check the exact model’s pen-support specification.
Which laptop in this guide includes a stylus?
The reviewed HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) configuration includes a rechargeable active pen. The cited Lenovo Yoga 9i listing also identifies a Precision Pen 2, but that page is for Gen 8. Surface Pro keyboard and pen bundles vary, and ASUS Zenbook pen inclusion varies by configuration.
Is the Surface Pro a 2-in-1 laptop?
It can replace a laptop, but it is a detachable tablet rather than a conventional 360-degree convertible. The keyboard is an additional accessory.
Are the Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 8 and Gen 9 the same laptop?
No. Gen 8 and Gen 9 are separate generations. The 2024 Yoga 9i Gen 9 should not be described using the accessory information from a Gen 8 product page without checking the Gen 9 SKU.

No. Pressure-level figures are not directly comparable across pen systems and do not by themselves prove better accuracy or writing feel. Tilt support, latency, palm rejection, software, and ergonomics also matter.
What should I check when buying an ASUS Zenbook Flip?
Verify the complete model number, active-stylus support, and whether the pen is included. ASUS Zenbook Flip configurations can differ by market and retailer.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: the HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) is the easiest recommendation for a premium convertible with a verified included pen in the reviewed configuration. The Lenovo Yoga 9i is a strong alternative once you confirm Gen 8 versus Gen 9 and the exact bundle. The Surface Pro is the better tablet-first design, but its Snapdragon X platform and separately priced keyboard and pen change the buying calculation. ASUS Zenbook Flip models are worth considering, provided you verify the specific pen bundle rather than relying on the family name.
