The right Life360 alternative depends on what you need to replace. For an Apple-only household, start with Find My; for basic sharing between iPhones and Android phones, consider Google Maps. Google Family Link is designed for parents managing a child’s supervised Google account and device. If you want a dedicated family app with driving features, compare GeoZilla and iSharing, and verify current plans before subscribing. FindMyKids is another child-focused option to investigate, but its current official features and pricing were not verified here.
What to compare before switching from Life360
First decide whether you need ongoing location visibility, trip-specific reassurance, child-device management, or safety features such as driving reports. Those are different jobs, and no single option in this list is established as a like-for-like replacement for every Life360 feature.
| Option | Platform or setup | Sharing and audience | Safety or management scope | Cost evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Find My, Maps, and Check In | Apple devices | Live Location sharing; Maps can share trip ETA; Check In is trip-based | Sharing and trip reassurance; not established as a replacement for Life360 driving reports, circle tools, or paid safety bundle | Not stated in the cited Apple support documentation |
| Google Maps location sharing | iPhone and Android per MapQuest’s comparison | Person-to-person sharing; trip-progress ETA described by MapQuest | Basic sharing, not a full family-safety system | Not stated in the cited sources |
| Google Family Link | Child’s supervised Google account and device | Child location and saved-place arrival/departure notifications | Parental device and location management | Not stated in the cited source |
| GeoZilla | Android and iPhone; vendor says it can pair with GPS trackers and wearables | Dedicated family location app; location request requires recipient consent per its description | Vendor describes crash alerts to emergency contacts and driving-safety reports | $59.99 billed every three months was advertised on the official site on October 7, 2026; verify checkout and renewal terms |
| iSharing | iOS and Google Play downloads offered by the provider | Location-sharing app | Current feature tiers were not verified here | Current price not independently verified here |
| FindMyKids | MapQuest describes a child app or GPS watch | Child-focused, particularly for younger children, according to MapQuest | Current official features were not verified here | Current price not independently verified here |
Place alerts, route history, emergency response, and subscription access can vary by app and plan. An alert sent to a family member is not the same as a service dispatching emergency responders. Check the provider’s current feature and privacy pages, as well as your app-store listing, before relying on a feature or price.

Apple’s built-in tools cover several common needs without requiring a dedicated family-locator service. Apple says people can share Live Location through Find My or Messages. Apple Maps can share a live ETA while navigating by car, bicycle, or on foot. Check In can notify a trusted contact when someone arrives or, if a trip is unexpectedly delayed and the person is unresponsive, share information under its check-in process. Check In is not continuous location tracking by default. See Apple’s location-sharing guidance.

2. Google Maps: for basic sharing across phone types
Google Maps is worth considering when household members use different phone platforms and mainly want to share location or coordinate a trip. MapQuest’s comparison describes it as cross-platform for iPhone and Android and says it can share trip-progress ETA. Google’s account documentation explains how to manage sharing with individual people, including stopping sharing with a selected person: Manage your Location Sharing settings.

3. Google Family Link: for a child’s supervised account
Family Link fits parents who want to manage a child’s device and location through a supervised Google account. Google documents location settings and notifications when a child arrives at or leaves a saved family place. Setting up a family place and location accuracy is required; location may be unavailable if the child’s device is off, offline, or has not been used recently. 5. iSharing: a dedicated location-sharing option to investigate
iSharing offers downloads for iOS and Google Play and presents itself as a location-sharing app. Its site’s “Trusted by 60M+ Users” statement is a provider-reported promotional figure; it was not independently verified. See iSharing’s official site.
A September 2026 Greenlight comparison lists iSharing plan details, but Greenlight also sells a product included in its own comparison. Treat that comparison as interested secondary information, not an independent ranking, and check iSharing’s current plan page for feature access, price, and billing terms before subscribing.
6. FindMyKids: a lead for younger children, with details to verify
MapQuest’s July 2026 comparison identifies FindMyKids as a younger-child option and describes a child app or GPS watch. That is secondary information: current official product features and pricing were not independently verified here. If you are considering it, confirm the supported devices, child and parent setup, location-sharing controls, and current subscription terms directly with the provider before relying on it.
How to weigh location privacy and consent
Location sharing is sensitive, so compare who can see each person’s location, how sharing can be paused or stopped, and what the provider’s current policy says about precise location and advertising. One concrete control is Google’s documented ability to stop sharing with a selected person. Apple’s Check In has a different model: it is tied to a trip and may share information when an unexpected delay coincides with the user being unresponsive, rather than tracking continuously by default.
Life360’s privacy policy, accessed October 7, 2026, states: “We may sell your sensitive personal data.” The policy describes licensing certain information, including precise geolocation data, to select business partners for their own advertising and monetization purposes, along with other disclosures for targeted advertising under state privacy laws. That wording does not establish that all users’ location data is sold to everyone or that every user has the same legal rights. Review the current Life360 Privacy Policy and the live policy and in-app controls of any service you consider.
Quick Recap
Switch without leaving a gap in sharing
- Agree on the purpose and boundaries. Decide who will share location, with whom, and whether the need is continuous visibility, trip check-ins, child-device management, or driving alerts. Make sure the people being tracked understand and consent to the arrangement.
- Set up the new service with everyone involved. Install the selected app or configure built-in tools, then confirm that each person can see the intended sharing status.
- Recreate saved places and notifications. Test arrival and departure alerts, trip sharing, or child-location settings that matter to your household. Do not assume settings transfer from the old service.
- Check permissions and device behavior. Confirm location access and accuracy settings on each phone. Test that the app behaves as expected with the device’s normal battery and connectivity settings.
- Turn off the old sharing together. Once the replacement works, review who still has access in the old app and stop sharing or remove the service as appropriate.
Which option should you try first?
- All-Apple household, basic location or trip sharing: begin with Find My, Maps, or Check In, choosing the tool that matches whether you want ongoing sharing or trip-based reassurance.
- Mixed iPhone and Android household, basic sharing: consider Google Maps and use its person-by-person sharing controls.
- Parent managing a child’s supervised Google device: assess Family Link and its saved-place notifications.
- Dedicated family app or driving-related features: compare GeoZilla and iSharing against the exact features and paid tiers your household needs.
- Younger child or non-phone user: investigate FindMyKids or a compatible GPS tracker, confirming the current product details and any separate device or service costs.
