Satisfactory server hosting providers are worth paying for when your group needs a shared PC world available without the original host, but the best choice depends on CPU capacity, RAM, location, backups, mod access, and true 24/7 availability—not advertised player slots alone.

Godlike.Host is our top pick for Satisfactory groups that want a managed game panel, up to three free backups a day with restore, and a choice of 10 data-center locations. Nodecraft is the clearest premium choice for transparent RAM tiers and an explicit always-online plan. GPORTAL is a strong conventional rental option with visible slot plans and backup storage. BisectHosting suits players who value control-panel and mod-management tools, while Nitrado and GTXGaming require more careful verification of current pricing and features before purchase.

Prices in this comparison were observed on August 18, 2026. Hosting prices, promotions, locations, and game-version support can change, so verify the final renewal price and feature list at checkout. This comparison is based on official provider information and Satisfactory documentation, not independent uptime, latency, or performance testing.

Key takeaways

  • Godlike.Host is our top pick: it hosts Satisfactory on a Pterodactyl-based panel with a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions, up to three free backups a day with restore, free DDoS protection, and 10 data-center locations.
  • Nodecraft separates hibernating Lite servers from always-online Pro servers, with researched pricing of $12.52 for the first month and $17.88/month afterward for a displayed Lite tier, or $20.99 initially and $29.98/month afterward for a displayed Pro tier.
  • GPORTAL advertises Satisfactory hosting from 10 to 128 slots, NVMe hardware, 50 GB of backup space, DDoS protection, and displayed examples of $15.59 per 30 days for 10 slots and $19.19 per 30 days for 15 slots.
  • A small Satisfactory group should generally start around 6–8 GB of RAM, while large factories, large saves, or heavily modded servers may justify 12–16 GB; RAM cannot solve every CPU or simulation bottleneck.
  • Steam and Epic PC players can connect to Satisfactory dedicated servers according to the documented dedicated-server guidance, but that does not automatically promise console compatibility or universal mod compatibility.
  • Back up an existing save before migration, test the hosted copy with one player, and verify inventories, trains, vehicles, power, world state, and mod dependencies before inviting the whole group.

What is a Satisfactory dedicated server?

A Satisfactory dedicated server keeps the game world available independently of the player who originally created it. Players can join and leave without one person running a normal multiplayer session on a personal computer. The documented multiplayer guidance distinguishes dedicated-server hosting from an ordinary hosted session and describes the feature as PC-oriented; console players should not be promised the same workflow without checking current platform support. See the Satisfactory multiplayer documentation.

Renting a managed game server is different from renting a general-purpose VPS, buying a physical dedicated machine, using a free tunneling service, or leaving a home PC powered on. A managed host normally supplies the game-server installation, web controls, external network configuration, and some combination of backups, support, and update handling.

Do you actually need paid Satisfactory hosting?

Paid hosting is useful when the world must remain available while the original host is offline. Renting is especially sensible when players have different schedules, nobody wants to manage router and firewall settings, the home connection uses CGNAT, or the group is building a persistent factory that represents hundreds of hours of work.

Self-hosting can be cheaper when a player already has suitable hardware, reliable upload bandwidth, and the technical confidence to administer the server. Self-hosting still requires installation, updates, firewall rules, router port forwarding, monitoring, backups, and recovery planning. A rental service trades recurring cost for convenience and provider-managed infrastructure.

Option Best advantage Main disadvantage Technical responsibility
Managed game host Fast setup, control panel, support, and optional backups Recurring cost and provider limitations Usually low
Self-hosted PC or server Maximum control and potentially lower ongoing cost Hardware, electricity, networking, updates, and recovery are your responsibility High
General-purpose VPS Flexible operating-system and configuration control Manual installation, security, monitoring, and game-server administration High
Home PC left running No separate hosting bill if suitable hardware already exists World availability depends on the PC, power, bandwidth, and home network Medium to high

Which Satisfactory server hosting provider is best?

Godlike.Host is our top pick for most small groups that want a managed game panel, free backups with restore, and a server location close to their players. Nodecraft is the strongest choice for transparent resource tiers and a clear always-online option. GPORTAL is the strongest conventional slot-based alternative. BisectHosting is attractive for control-panel and mod-management features. Nitrado is a reasonable established-platform option, while GTXGaming should remain a verification-dependent choice until its current product details are checked.

Position Provider Best for Verified research signal Main caution
1 Godlike.Host A managed game panel with free backups and a wide choice of locations Satisfactory servers among 40+ games, 10 data-center locations, free DDoS protection, up to three free backups a day with restore, SFTP/FTP access, and 24/7/365 live chat or ticket support Check the RAM and CPU of the current Satisfactory plan and your mod-file needs before buying
2 Nodecraft Transparent RAM tiers and easy premium hosting 6–12 GB tiers, Lite and Pro plans, control panel, backups, DDoS protection, and mod guidance Lite hibernates; choose Pro for continuous availability
3 GPORTAL Conventional rental with visible slot scaling 10–128 slots, NVMe hardware, 50 GB backup space, DDoS protection, and 24/7 ticket support Some advanced mod workflows may be limited by file access
4 BisectHosting Control-panel tools and mod-oriented management Control panel, player-management tools, mod support, and location selection are promoted Current price and exact resource allocation need checking
5 Nitrado A large, established game-hosting ecosystem Official Satisfactory dedicated-server product and support/community presence Current price, resources, and FTP workflow need verification
6 GTXGaming Advanced users seeking configuration control Relevant specialist candidate identified for further product-page verification Current Satisfactory availability and plan specifications were not verified

1. Godlike.Host: best for a managed panel and flexible locations

Godlike.Host is our top pick for Satisfactory groups that want a game panel with scheduling, sub-users, and backups, plus a server location close to their players. It runs Satisfactory servers alongside more than 40 other games, on its own Pterodactyl-based panel with a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions, a config editor that shares a settings file by link, and server management through a Discord bot. Its ping page lists 10 data-center locations: US West Coast, US East Coast, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, and Singapore.

Protection and recovery are part of the package: free DDoS protection, a personal firewall for player access and IP filtering, up to three free backups a day with restore, and SFTP/FTP access to the server files. Support is available 24/7/365 by live chat or ticket, and setup takes minutes after payment. You can upgrade or downgrade from the panel with prorated billing, pay with several methods including cryptocurrency, and a voluntary money-back guarantee covers a first purchase within 3 calendar days. See the current plans on the Godlike.Host Satisfactory server hosting page.

Who should choose Godlike.Host? Groups that want routine tasks such as restarts and backups handled from a panel, want to give trusted friends sub-user access, or want to pick one of several regions to keep latency low. As with every host in this comparison, confirm the RAM and CPU allocation of the current Satisfactory plan and the file access your mods need, because this comparison is not based on our own Satisfactory performance testing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Nodecraft: best for transparent performance tiers and ease of use

Nodecraft is the clearest choice when you want to select a Satisfactory server by RAM and understand whether the server sleeps when empty. Nodecraft’s Satisfactory page lists Lite plans for 1–6, 7–10, and 11+ players, with 6 GB, 8 GB, and 12 GB RAM tiers. Nodecraft also separates Lite from Pro: Lite is a hibernating or wake-on-demand product, while Pro is intended to remain online 24/7.

The researched page showed Lite pricing from $12.52 for the first month, then $17.88 per month, and Pro pricing from $20.99 for the first month, then $29.98 per month for the displayed 1–6-player tier. These prices were observed August 18, 2026, and should not be treated as a permanent quote. The Nodecraft Satisfactory hosting page also promotes a web control panel, backups, DDoS protection, and mod-installation guidance.

Nodecraft’s strongest advantage is clarity: the buyer can see a resource-oriented plan structure and a meaningful difference between a cheaper hibernating server and a continuously online server. The main mistake would be selecting Lite when automated factories, scheduled access, or instant availability matter. The advertised player ranges are provider recommendations, not independent capacity tests.

3. GPORTAL: best for conventional game-server rental

GPORTAL is a good fit for groups that prefer a familiar slot-based rental model with visible backup and deployment information. GPORTAL advertises Satisfactory servers from 10 to 128 slots, NVMe hardware, provisioning in under three minutes, 50 GB of backup space for save games and configurations, 24/7 ticket support, and DDoS protection.

The researched GPORTAL page displayed examples of $15.59 per 30 days for 10 slots and $19.19 per 30 days for 15 slots, along with short-term pricing of approximately $6.23 for three days. Those figures are displayed examples observed August 18, 2026; currency, country, billing period, taxes, promotions, and location can change the amount. Check the GPORTAL Satisfactory hosting page for the current quote.

GPORTAL’s broad slot range is convenient, but slot count is not a performance guarantee. A 128-slot listing does not prove that a large train network or late-game factory will simulate smoothly. Satisfactory modding documentation also identifies provider-specific file-tree limitations that can complicate some advanced mod workflows. GPORTAL is therefore more compelling for conventional, lightly modded hosting than for users who need unrestricted server-file access.

4. BisectHosting: best for management tools and mod-oriented users

BisectHosting is a strong candidate for players who prioritize a polished management panel, player controls, location selection, and mod-related convenience. The provider promotes simplified setup, server-management tools, player-management features, mod support, and location selection on its Satisfactory hosting product page.

The available research does not provide a reliable current monthly Satisfactory price, RAM allocation, or complete plan matrix for BisectHosting. Use the BisectHosting Satisfactory product page and its plan selector to verify the exact resource allocation, recurring price, billing term, taxes, and any optional dedicated-IP or performance features before ranking BisectHosting by value.

BisectHosting makes the most sense when control-panel convenience matters more than finding the lowest visible base price. Do not describe BisectHosting as the fastest provider without independent testing. Confirm how much file access is available if a mod requires manual installation, version pinning, or configuration backup.

5. Nitrado: best for an established hosting ecosystem

Nitrado is worth considering if you already use Nitrado or prefer a large, established game-hosting account and support ecosystem. Nitrado has an official Satisfactory dedicated-server offering and a product announcement that points buyers toward its Satisfactory service and community/support resources. The Nitrado Satisfactory announcement confirms the product route but does not, by itself, establish every current plan detail.

Before purchasing, verify the current price in your country, whether the service is priced by slots or resources, the renewal cost after any promotion, available regions, backup retention, restoration controls, cancellation terms, and update timing after Satisfactory patches.

Mod users should pay particular attention to file access. Satisfactory Modding Documentation identifies provider-specific FTP complications involving Nitrado. Generic “mod support” language does not necessarily mean unrestricted access to every server file or a convenient workflow for every Satisfactory Mod Manager setup.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

6. GTXGaming: a candidate for advanced configuration

GTXGaming may suit experienced administrators who want to investigate deeper configuration and file-management options, but current Satisfactory plan facts were not verified in this research pass. The provider is a plausible specialist candidate for this comparison, not a provider for which specific prices, RAM, CPU models, locations, backup schedules, or mod-manager features should be assumed.

Check the official GTXGaming Satisfactory hosting page before purchase. Confirm that Satisfactory servers are currently available in the desired region, determine the included RAM and CPU policy, inspect backup and restoration controls, and find out whether mod installation requires manual file uploads. GTXGaming may be less suitable for beginners if setup and troubleshooting are more hands-on, but that conclusion should be based on the current panel and documentation rather than assumption.

How much RAM does a Satisfactory server need?

Use 6 GB as a cautious starting point for a small, lightly modded group, 8 GB as the safer general choice for roughly 4–10 players or a growing save, and 12–16 GB for large factories, large saves, or heavier mod loads. These are planning tiers, not guaranteed requirements.

The documented Satisfactory dedicated-server guidance indicates that 16 GB may be advisable for larger saves or hosting more than four players. That recommendation should be understood as practical guidance rather than a universal minimum. A five-player world with a sprawling factory, trains, vehicles, and complex logistics can be more demanding than a ten-player world still in the early game.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
RAM planning tier Reasonable use What to watch
6 GB Small group, early or moderate factory, light mod use Save growth, autosave delays, memory warnings, and crashes
8 GB Safer starting point for approximately 4–10 players or a growing world CPU simulation load can still become the limiting factor
12 GB Large save, more players, or moderate mod usage Whether the provider’s CPU and storage are also suitable
16 GB Large factories, large saves, or heavier modded setups RAM cannot cure poor single-thread performance or overloaded hosts

RAM is only one part of server performance. CPU simulation speed, single-thread performance, storage latency, host-node oversubscription, save size, and network latency can all affect the experience. Look for rubber-banding, delayed machine updates, slow trains or vehicles, long save/load times, and crashes during autosave before assuming that adding RAM will solve the problem.

Are Steam and Epic players compatible with a Satisfactory dedicated server?

Steam and Epic PC players can connect to Satisfactory dedicated servers regardless of where the server binaries were downloaded, according to the documented dedicated-server reference. The claim is version-sensitive, so check current documentation after major game updates. Steam/Epic compatibility does not automatically include PlayStation or Xbox, does not guarantee identical mod compatibility, and does not promise compatibility with every future server build.

Which ports does a Satisfactory dedicated server use?

The documented current default arrangement uses port 7777 for standard server traffic and port 8888 TCP for reliable messaging. Port 7777 uses TCP for server traffic and API-related functions and UDP for game traffic and query functions. A home-hosted server must be reachable through the local firewall and router port forwarding. Review the current dedicated-server port guidance because older tutorials may describe outdated arrangements.

Rented game hosting normally handles external networking, but players still need the provider-assigned address and port. Changing a location or port may require updating the connection details, and the host must still support the current Satisfactory server release.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How do you migrate an existing Satisfactory save?

Migration should be treated as a backup-and-test operation, not a simple file copy. Provider paths and save-management interfaces vary by operating system, host, and game version, so there is no universal file path that applies to every rental service.

  1. Stop the current Satisfactory session or server cleanly.
  2. Create multiple copies of the existing save and keep the original untouched.
  3. Identify the correct dedicated-server save format or upload location using the provider’s documentation.
  4. Upload the save through the provider’s file manager, SFTP, or documented save-management tool.
  5. Start the hosted server and allow initialization or any version-specific conversion to finish.
  6. Join with one player first rather than inviting the entire group.
  7. Check player inventories, world state, vehicles, power, trains, production, and map progress.
  8. Confirm that required mods and dependencies are installed in compatible client and server versions.
  9. Schedule automatic backups before the full group resumes work.
  10. Keep the original save until the hosted world has been tested and successfully backed up.

GPORTAL specifically advertises save-game handling and backup space, while Satisfactory’s configuration details remain version-sensitive. Consult the Satisfactory configuration-file documentation and the provider’s own migration instructions before changing files.

How should you evaluate Satisfactory backup features?

Backups are essential, but “backups included” is not the same as a tested restoration process. Check whether backups are automatic or manual, how often they run, how long they are retained, whether they include configuration and mod files, whether restoration is self-service, whether backup storage has a separate quota, and whether backups remain available after cancellation.

GPORTAL advertises 50 GB of backup space for saves and configurations. Nodecraft advertises cloud-backup features, with manual cloud backups associated with its Pro tier. Those are provider claims, not independent proof that restoration will work exactly as expected. Test restoration with a disposable copy before trusting a host with an important world. See the GPORTAL product information and Nodecraft’s Satisfactory plan details.

What does “mod support” really mean?

Mod support should be judged by file access, version control, dependency handling, and recovery options—not by a checkbox on a sales page. Ask whether the host provides a file manager or SFTP, access to the relevant server files, an easy Satisfactory Mod Manager workflow, version pinning or rollback, automatic restart after updates, mod and configuration backups, and clear instructions for removing a broken mod.

Satisfactory Modding Documentation warns that file access and workflows differ between providers and identifies complications involving GPORTAL and Nitrado. A one-click installer may be convenient, but it may not provide the server-side access required by every mod. Confirm whether each dependency must be installed on both the server and every client.

When a modded server fails, stop the server, restore the last known-good backup, disable the suspected mod, confirm that client and server versions match, reinstall dependencies in the required order, and add mods back one at a time. A Satisfactory update can break a previously working mod even when the host itself is operating correctly.

How should you choose a server location?

Choose the region that minimizes latency for most players, not necessarily the region nearest the server administrator. A low monthly price is poor value if half the group connects across a distant continent. Compare locations offered at checkout, identify where most players are located, and use a trial or refund period to check real connection quality where available.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not claim that one provider has lower latency or better uptime without testing from the relevant regions. Provider-advertised locations and hardware are evidence of availability, not a substitute for a group-specific latency test.

What should the real hosting comparison include?

The recurring total cost and operational controls matter more than the headline slot count. Use this checklist before buying:

Criterion What to inspect Why it matters
Recurring price Renewal price, currency, taxes, billing term, discounts, and add-ons A cheap first month may become an expensive long-term plan
CPU and RAM RAM allocation, CPU information, and any oversubscription policy Factory simulation can be CPU-bound even with few players
Always-on behavior 24/7 operation versus hibernation or wake-on-demand Factories cannot progress continuously on a sleeping server
Location Regions near the majority of players Distance affects latency and playability
Backups Frequency, retention, scope, quota, and restoration process Save recovery protects hundreds of hours of work
Save migration Upload method, documentation, and conversion handling A difficult migration increases risk and downtime
Mod workflow SFTP/file manager, version pinning, dependencies, and rollback “Mod support” varies substantially between providers
Control panel Restart, console, logs, configuration editing, and scheduled tasks Good tools reduce routine administration
Support Ticket or chat availability, documentation, and response promises Patch and save problems are time-sensitive
Cancellation Refund terms, renewal cancellation, and post-cancellation backup access Protects against an unsuitable plan or region
Game updates Patch timing, rollback options, and maintenance communication Hosts may temporarily lag behind a Satisfactory update

Final recommendations by player type

  • Choose Godlike.Host if you want a managed panel with a task scheduler, sub-users, up to three free backups a day with restore, and a choice among 10 data-center locations.
  • Choose Nodecraft if you want transparent RAM tiers, a guided control panel, and a clear choice between hibernating Lite and always-online Pro hosting.
  • Choose GPORTAL if you prefer visible slot plans, rapid provisioning, backup allocation, and a conventional game-server rental experience.
  • Choose BisectHosting if control-panel tools, player management, location selection, and mod-oriented features are more important than a fully transparent researched price comparison.
  • Consider Nitrado if you value an established multi-game ecosystem, but verify current price, resources, backup policy, and mod-file access first.
  • Investigate GTXGaming if you are an advanced user seeking configuration control and are willing to verify the current product details yourself.
  • Self-host instead if you already have reliable hardware and are comfortable managing ports, firewalls, updates, backups, and troubleshooting.

For most small PC groups, start with an always-online plan offering at least 6–8 GB of RAM, a nearby location, tested backups, and a clear renewal price. Upgrade when the factory’s simulation, save size, mod load, or player count—not the advertised slot maximum—shows that more resources are needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Satisfactory dedicated server stay online when nobody is playing?

A truly always-online Satisfactory dedicated server can remain available when nobody is connected, but some budget plans hibernate when empty. Nodecraft explicitly distinguishes hibernating Lite servers from 24/7 Pro servers, so confirm the plan behavior before buying.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is 8 GB of RAM enough for a Satisfactory server?

Eight gigabytes is a reasonable safer starting point for a growing group of roughly 4–10 players, but it is not a guarantee of smooth performance. Large factories may need 12–16 GB, while CPU simulation speed, storage, and host-node load can still be limiting factors.

Can Steam and Epic players play together on a Satisfactory dedicated server?

Steam and Epic PC players can connect to Satisfactory dedicated servers according to the documented dedicated-server guidance. The compatibility statement does not automatically include consoles or guarantee compatibility with every game version or mod setup.

Should you rent a Satisfactory server or self-host one?

Rent a managed Satisfactory server when you need simple setup, support, backups, and independence from a player’s home PC. Self-hosting can cost less when you already have suitable hardware and technical skills, but you must manage networking, updates, security, backups, and recovery yourself.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Godlike.Host is our top pick for Satisfactory groups that want a managed panel, free backups with restore, and a wide choice of locations; see the current plans before buying. Nodecraft is a strong choice for buyers who want transparent RAM tiers and a clear always-online option. GPORTAL is a strong conventional alternative with visible slot plans and backup storage. Choose based on recurring price, CPU/RAM transparency, location, backup restoration, file access, and hibernation behavior—not the largest advertised slot number.
