Use 53.com for Fifth Third online banking. The bank’s current access page includes Customer Login, New Registration, Forgot UserID?, and Forgot Password?. Fifth Third’s customer-service instructions also refer to the recovery link as Forgot Login.
For safety, type 53.com into your browser rather than following an unexpected login link in an email or text message. Check that the address begins with https:// before entering your credentials.
How to sign in to Fifth Third online banking
- Open 53.com.
- At the upper-right, expand the green LOG IN box, or select Customer Login if you are on Fifth Third’s online-banking page.
- Enter your Fifth Third User ID and password.
- Complete any security verification requested by the bank.
If the login box is not visible, use Fifth Third’s online-banking page and select Customer Login. Page labels can change slightly between the bank’s main website, customer-service pages, and mobile experience.

First-time registration and first login
Choose New Registration if you have not enrolled in online banking. Fifth Third’s first-login instructions say that the initial desktop credentials are normally:

After the first successful login, the bank prompts you to create a unique online-banking password. Do not continue using a card PIN as a general online-banking password once the setup process asks you to create one.
For a first login in the mobile app, Fifth Third’s mobile FAQ lists a debit-card number, ATM-card number, credit-card number, or Social Security number as possible initial User IDs. The bank does not state that every one of these choices works on the desktop login screen, so use the mobile-specific instructions if you are enrolling through the app.
How to access Fifth Third mobile banking
- Install the official Fifth Third app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and select the login option.
- Enter your User ID and password, or follow the new-customer setup prompts.
- Approve the requested security verification.
Once signed in, the app supports account management, transfers, bill payments, Zelle, statements, alerts, and mobile check deposits.

Forgot Fifth Third User ID or password
Use the bank’s recovery workflow rather than repeatedly guessing credentials.
On a computer
- Go to
53.com. - Expand the green LOG IN box.
- Select Forgot Login, or use the separately displayed Forgot UserID? or Forgot Password? link.
- Follow the identity-verification and reset instructions.
In the mobile app
- Open the Fifth Third app.
- Tap Forgot Login below the login box.
- Complete the prompts to recover your User ID or reset your password.
If a reset does not work, stop trying after several failed attempts. Repeated attempts may trigger a lockout; use Fifth Third’s official support channels instead.

Find your Fifth Third account and routing numbers
Mobile app
- Sign in.
- Tap the account on the home screen.
- Tap Account & Routing Numbers.
Online banking
- Sign in and select the account.
- Select More Details.
- Select View Account/Routing Numbers.
Before sending the numbers to an employer or payment provider, confirm whether it needs your checking account number, savings account number, or routing number. Never post these details publicly.
Make a Fifth Third account payment
Online banking
- Sign in and select the account receiving the payment.
- Select Make a Payment in the account-summary bar.
- Choose the account from which the money will be transferred.
- Enter the requested amount and date, review the details, and submit.
Mobile app
- Sign in and tap Move Money.
- Tap Make a Payment.
- Select the payment-to and payment-from accounts.
- Enter the amount and payment date.
- Review and submit the payment.
Check the payment date and funding account carefully. A payment submitted from the wrong account can cause an overdraft or failed payment even when the instruction itself was accepted.
Deposit a check with the Fifth Third app
- Sign in and tap Deposit at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap New Deposit.
- Select the destination account.
- Photograph the front and back of the check.
- Enter the check amount.
- Review the Funds Availability options.
- Review the deposit details and confirm.
The app may need camera permission. For automatic capture, place the check on a dark, uncluttered surface in good light and keep all four corners visible. Fifth Third’s mobile FAQ lists U.S. checks and money orders as accepted deposit types.
The mobile-deposit cutoff is 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Standard mobile deposits have no fee, although an option such as immediate funds availability may cost extra. Keep the original check until the deposit is credited and the bank’s retention period has passed.
View statements and turn off paper statements
Online banking
- Sign in.
- Open Documents.
- Select Paperless Settings.
Mobile app
- Open the Statements tab.
- Select Manage Delivery Options.
Fifth Third says online banking and its app provide access to up to 24 months of account history. Older guides may tell you to use Settings/Accounts/Go Paperless; that is not the current path described by the bank.

Manage alerts and login security
Online banking alerts
- Sign in.
- Select Alerts on the left side.
- Select Manage Alerts.
- Choose the account and the alerts you want.
Mobile alerts
- Sign in and open your profile.
- Tap Alerts.
- Tap Manage Alerts.
- Choose the card and transaction alerts.
Turn on Face ID
- Open the app and tap the Profile icon in the upper-left.
- Tap SmartShield Security.
- Tap Manage Login.
- Select Face ID and turn it on.
Transaction alerts can help identify unauthorized activity sooner than a monthly statement. Use a strong, unique online-banking password and avoid signing in on shared or public computers.

- Mobile: sign in → Profile → Personal Information, then edit the relevant details.
- Online: sign in → Settings, then update your personal information.
Keeping your phone number and email current is especially important for account alerts, verification, and Zelle enrollment.
Enroll in or troubleshoot Zelle
- Sign in to online banking or the mobile app.
- Choose Send Money With Zelle.
- Accept the Zelle Service Agreement and Privacy Notice.
- Set up a phone number or email contact method and verify it if prompted.
- Select the funding account.
Fifth Third currently supports one Zelle contact method per customer. Only the primary email address is available as an email contact method, and the phone number or email must already be in your online-banking profile.
If you need to switch the enrolled phone number or email, call Fifth Third at 800-972-3030 so the existing contact method can be deactivated before you enroll the new one. A shared online-banking login can also prevent a spouse from enrolling a separate Zelle number. Fifth Third says the solution is to call the same number and establish a unique online-banking and mobile-app login.
Report a lost or stolen card
Mobile app
- Sign in.
- Tap the three dots next to the account.
- Tap Manage Card.
- Select the card.
- Tap Card Lost, Stolen or Damaged.
Online banking
- Sign in and select the account associated with the card.
- Select Services under the available balance.
- Select Card Management.
- Select Lost or Stolen.
The app can temporarily lock and unlock a Fifth Third credit card. Fifth Third says it does not currently offer the ability to lock a debit card. If a debit card is missing or compromised, report it rather than relying on a temporary-lock feature.

Message Fifth Third through online banking
After signing in to online banking, click the blue chat bubble in the lower-right corner to message Fifth Third. In the app or online banking, this 24/7 virtual assistant is called Jeanie. Do not enter a full password, PIN, or one-time security code into an unsolicited chat, email, or text message.
