The right Anker accessory depends on your exact MacBook model and how you use it: choose a compact hub for travel ports, a dock for a desk setup, a charger matched to your Mac’s recommended wattage, or a power bank for portable charging. The five picks below are organized by use case, not ranked or presented as independently tested. Before buying, confirm your MacBook’s model and chip, the displays you plan to connect, and its recommended charging wattage.
How to choose an Anker accessory for your MacBook
Start with the job the accessory needs to do. A hub is generally the smaller, lighter choice for adding ports on the go; a dock is intended for a more involved desk setup. Anker’s guide notes that pass-through charging shares the adapter’s output with the hub, so the power reaching the laptop can be lower than the adapter’s rating. Display support also depends on the MacBook generation and the accessory. For example, Anker’s guide says M1 MacBooks support one external screen through a hub or dock; do not assume that statement describes every Apple Silicon Mac.
- Check compatibility by exact model and chip. A product listing that names some MacBooks does not establish compatibility with every generation.
- Check the display arrangement. Confirm supported resolution, refresh rate, and number of external displays for your Mac and the accessory.
- Match charging to the Mac. Apple advises using a USB Power Delivery adapter or display rated at least as high as the wattage recommended for the specific Mac for the best charging experience. Apple’s power-adapter guidance explains the requirement.
- Account for hub power draw. Pass-through wattage delivered to the laptop may be less than the charger’s input rating.
- Choose by ports and portability. Decide whether you need Ethernet, card readers, extra USB ports, a fixed desk connection, or battery capacity for travel.

2. Compact charging for supported Macs: Anker 715 Charger (Nano II 65W)
The Anker 715 (model A2663) is a compact 65W USB-C charger. Anker identifies MacBook Air 2020 and MacBook Pro 13-inch as models it can charge at high speed. That is not a universal recommendation for every MacBook Pro: compare the charger’s output with the wattage Apple recommends for your exact Mac. This power bank appears in Anker’s Apple accessories collection and may suit a user who wants a battery for laptop charging away from an outlet. Anker’s MacBook portable-charger guidance recommends checking output against the laptop’s needs. The available information does not establish how many times this bank will recharge a particular MacBook or how long it will run under a given workload, so treat runtime as dependent on the Mac, its battery, and what you are doing. 5. Ethernet and expansion for specifically listed older models: Anker 543 USB-C Hub (6-in-1, Slim)
The Anker 543 (model A8365) adds USB-A and USB-C data, HDMI, Ethernet, and PD pass-through. Anker specifies up to 53W to the laptop when this hub is used with a 65W charger. Its listed compatibility covers MacBook and MacBook Pro models from 2017–2020 and MacBook Air models from 2018–2020.
