If you want an affordable V6 sedan in 2026, focus on the used market and verify the engine and trim on each car. The evidence supports five models worth checking—Toyota Avalon, Nissan Maxima, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, and Kia Cadenza—but it does not establish that every example, or even every model year, is a V6 or available at a particular price.
Why affordable V6 sedans are mostly a used-car search
Two familiar 2026 sedans illustrate why the model year and engine layout matter. Toyota’s U.S. specifications list the 2026 Camry with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a $29,600 base MSRP for the LE; it is not a V6. Toyota notes that its posted information applies to mainland U.S. vehicles, may change without notice, and can vary by region. Toyota’s 2026 Camry specifications.
The 2026 Dodge Charger R/T has six cylinders, but they are arranged in an inline-six, not a V6. Dodge announced a 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK engine rated at 420 hp, with standard AWD. Its starting U.S. MSRP is $49,995 for the two-door and $51,995 for the four-door, before tax, title, and fees. Dodge’s March 9, 2026 announcement.
So, “six-cylinder” is not enough to identify a V6: check the engine configuration, not just the cylinder count or a model’s name. The candidates below are used-car leads, not a verified ranking of five V6 trims. Confirm the specific car’s engine and equipment before comparing prices.

These models appear in used-car rankings, but the rankings do not prove that every example is a V6 or that one will be available at the quoted price in your area. Treat prices as page-listed asking-price indicators, not guaranteed transaction prices.

What the listed used-car prices do—and do not—tell you
Car and Driver’s used full-size-sedan ranking displays the following starting figures for selected model years. These are volatile used-market listings, not fixed prices or a promise that a matching V6 car is available near you. The page was accessed October 7, 2026.

How to choose the right used V6
- Confirm the engine and trim. Ask for the VIN or build information and verify that the car has a V6. A six-cylinder badge or description does not distinguish a V6 from an inline-six.
- Compare the whole purchase budget. Include taxes, fees, and money for immediate repairs—not just the advertised price. Compare local listings for the same year and trim.
- Weigh age, mileage, and condition together. A lower asking price does not account for wear or upcoming maintenance. Review the car’s history and maintenance records.
- Assess space against your needs. The Avalon is specifically noted for rear-seat and trunk space. For the other models, compare the actual cabin and cargo area in the listings you are considering.
- Get an independent pre-purchase inspection. Have a qualified mechanic assess the specific vehicle before you commit; a category ranking cannot tell you the condition of that car.
Direct answers about 2026 V6 sedans
Are there affordable new V6 sedans?
The checked examples do not support treating the 2026 Camry or Charger R/T as new V6 choices: the Camry is a four-cylinder, and the Charger R/T is an inline-six. The Charger’s stated starting MSRPs are also substantially higher than the Camry’s base MSRP. This does not establish that no new V6 sedan exists anywhere; it shows why the affordable mainstream search is better approached through used listings.
Is the 2026 Dodge Charger a V6?
The 2026 Charger R/T announced by Dodge uses a twin-turbo inline-six. It has six cylinders, but it is not a V6.
