The best cold-air intake for a 5.7 Hemi Chrysler 300C is the one that matches the car’s exact model year, trim, headlight and hood configuration—not simply any kit advertised for a 5.7-liter Hemi. For 2011–2023 300C models, CORSA’s 44017D/44017 has the broadest documented fitment in the available manufacturer material. A 2023 Chrysler 300 5.7L owner can also investigate the K&N/AIRAID 69-2526TP, while a 2005 300C owner has a year-specific aFe 54-10712 lead. Older Mopar and CORSA listings require extra verification because their current stock or status is not established.

Choose by fitment and emissions status first, then compare enclosure design, filter type, maintenance, tuning requirements and the quality of the power claim. The horsepower figures below are vendor estimates, not a controlled comparison on the same Chrysler 300C.

Which intake is the strongest match for each Chrysler 300C year?

There is no single intake that fits every 5.7 Hemi Chrysler 300 or 300C. The 2005-era engine bay, later 2011–2023 cars, factory HID-headlight packages and non-stock hoods can change compatibility. A kit listed for a Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger or another Hemi vehicle should not be assumed to fit a Chrysler 300C merely because the displacement is identical.

2011–2023 300C: CORSA 44017D/44017

CORSA lists intake 44017D/44017 for the 2011–2023 Chrysler 300C with the 5.7L V8. Its carbon-fiber duct and dedicated heat shield are intended to separate the filter from under-hood heat. The listing allows a dry or oiled reusable filter, says no tune is required and advertises up to 15 horsepower and 18 lb-ft of torque. CORSA also states that results can vary. Its product page lists CARB EO as unavailable, so California owners and anyone subject to similar emissions rules must verify legality before purchasing.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

This is the best-supported later-model candidate in the available catalog evidence, but “2011–2023” is not permission to skip the application selector. Confirm body style, engine, factory equipment and hood clearance. The broad range also does not prove that every 300 trim, including a 300S, uses the same intake plumbing.

2023 Chrysler 300 5.7L: K&N/AIRAID 69-2526TP

The 2023 5.7L Chrysler 300 listing for 69-2526TP gives an estimated 18.18 horsepower at 3,993 rpm and identifies replacement filter 722-127. The catalog associates the styling and details with an AIRAID intake. Installation is estimated at 60–90 minutes.

The number is a manufacturer estimate, not an independent 300C dyno result. More importantly, the listing says the setup is not legal for sale or use in California on pollution-controlled vehicles. Check the exact trim and application in the current catalog before ordering; a listing for a 2023 Chrysler 300 does not automatically establish fitment for earlier years.

2005 300C: aFe 54-10712

aFe installation instructions identify 54-10712 for the 2005 Chrysler 300C 5.7L. The instructions reference a CARB EO sticker, which is a useful compliance detail for that specific application. They do not establish that the kit remains in production or currently stocked.

2004–2006 Chrysler 300 5.7L: Mopar 77060003AC

A historical Mopar performance-parts catalog lists 77060003AC for 2004–2006 Chrysler 300 models with the 5.7L engine. Treat this as an original-equipment catalog lead rather than proof of current availability, emissions status or compatibility with every 300C configuration. Confirm the part number with a current seller or Mopar parts source and compare the application details with the vehicle identification number.

2011–2014 300 5.7L: aFe Momentum GT 51-72202-R

aFe’s installation material lists Momentum GT 51-72202-R for the 2011–2014 Chrysler 300 with the 5.7L HEMI. Related aFe material reports up to 14 horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque. The product announcement excludes Chrysler 300 models equipped with factory HID headlights. That exclusion is decisive: do not infer compatibility from the longer Charger or Challenger fitment ranges shown in the same product family.

CORSA 463576 PowerCore

CORSA’s 463576 PowerCore listing includes 5.7L 300C fitment and describes a closed-box intake with a dry filter and an identified replacement part. The product page marks it obsolete, and its CARB EO information is limited to 2011–2014 300C. It should not be treated as a current recommendation unless a seller confirms genuine stock, the correct application and legal status.

How the published horsepower claims should be read

Cold-air-intake output numbers are not interchangeable. Vendors may use different test vehicles, correction methods, ambient conditions, rpm points and definitions of “up to.” No independent comparative dyno test covering these kits on the same Chrysler 300C 5.7L configuration is established in the available material.

Manufacturer claim Application context How to use it
Up to 15 HP and 18 lb-ft CORSA 44017D/44017 listed 5.7L applications; year not stated on the product page Manufacturer-reported maximum; CORSA warns results may vary
Estimated 18.18 HP at 3,993 rpm K&N 69-2526TP listing; year not stated on the page Vendor estimate, not an independently verified 300C result
Up to 14 HP and 14 lb-ft aFe material for the 2011–2014 Chrysler 300 5.7L application Manufacturer claim; do not rank it directly against the other figures as a controlled test

These figures can help identify what a manufacturer expects from its own design, but they cannot prove that one brand will deliver more power on your car. A restrictive factory airbox, a contaminated filter, heat soak and calibration differences can matter as much as the intake choice. Expect the most defensible benefits to be improved induction sound and, when the factory system is restrictive, potentially better airflow at higher load—not a guaranteed advertised maximum.

What to check before ordering

1. Record the complete vehicle specification

  • Model year, not just the registration year.
  • Chrysler 300 or 300C designation and exact trim, such as 300S.
  • 5.7L HEMI engine confirmation.
  • Factory HID headlights, because the aFe 51-72202-R announcement excludes them.
  • Factory or aftermarket hood, especially if the hood changes the engine-bay clearance.
  • Any previous intake, throttle-body, sensor or emissions modifications.

Use the manufacturer’s application selector with those details. If the selector returns a different part number than a retailer’s title, trust the current manufacturer application data until the discrepancy is resolved.

2. Check the emissions rule where the car is registered

Emissions legality belongs to the exact part and application. CORSA lists CARB EO as unavailable for 44017D/44017. The K&N/AIRAID 69-2526TP listing says it is not legal for sale or use in California on pollution-controlled vehicles. The aFe 2005 instructions reference a CARB EO sticker, but that does not transfer to other aFe kits or other model years.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Keep the packaging, installation instructions and any emissions label. If your inspection program requires an EO number, verify that the number applies to your exact vehicle and part, not merely to the manufacturer or product family. A federal-looking intake advertisement is not a substitute for the jurisdiction’s current rule.

3. Choose enclosure and filter type deliberately

An open filter can offer a direct, simple airflow path and more induction sound, but it is more exposed to hot under-hood air. A heat shield or closed box attempts to isolate the filter from that heat. CORSA 44017D/44017 uses a dedicated heat shield, while CORSA 463576 is described as a closed-box design. Neither description alone proves a particular temperature or horsepower result on your car.

A dry filter avoids oiling during service and reduces the risk of excess oil reaching an airflow sensor when maintenance is done incorrectly. An oiled reusable filter can be cleaned and re-oiled, but it adds a cleaning and oiling procedure. CORSA lists both dry and oiled options for 44017D/44017; follow the instructions for the specific filter supplied.

4. Confirm support after installation

  • Replacement-filter part number and whether it is currently sold.
  • Whether the intake retains the factory air-temperature sensor and breather connections.
  • Warranty conditions, including restrictions caused by non-stock hoods or other modifications.
  • Whether the product requires a calibration change. CORSA states no tune is required for 44017D/44017; do not generalize that statement to other kits.
  • Return terms in case the application selector and the physical vehicle disagree.

How to handle a 2022 300S request

“Looking for a cold air intake for a 2022 300S with a 5.7 V8” is a common way owners describe the need, but the wording is not enough to select a part. CORSA’s documented range reaches 2022 through its 2011–2023 300C 5.7L listing, yet that listing does not by itself prove 300S compatibility. Enter the 2022 year, 300S trim and engine into CORSA’s current selector and compare the resulting part number with the installation instructions.

Do the same with any competing catalog. Do not substitute a Charger or Challenger kit, and do not rely on a marketplace title that omits trim or headlight details. If the selector does not list the 300S, ask the manufacturer for written confirmation before modifying the car.

Installation workflow and post-installation checks

Exact fasteners and sensor locations differ by kit, so the supplied instructions control. The following workflow prevents the most common mistakes without pretending that every intake installs identically.

  1. Photograph the original routing. Capture the airbox, sensor connector, breather hose, clamps and resonator before removing anything.
  2. Let the engine cool and disconnect the negative battery cable if the instructions require it. Keep loose tools away from the throttle body and exposed intake opening.
  3. Remove the factory intake carefully. Release the electrical connector and hose clamps without pulling on wiring. Cap or cover the throttle-body opening so debris cannot enter.
  4. Transfer required hardware. Move the factory temperature sensor, grommets, mounting studs or breather fittings only when the kit instructions call for it. A missing seal can create an unmetered-air leak.
  5. Install the shield or airbox first. Make sure it sits squarely and does not contact the hood, headlamp wiring or hot exhaust components.
  6. Fit the duct and filter. Seat the filter evenly, tighten clamps firmly but do not crush a silicone coupler, and reconnect every hose.
  7. Reconnect the sensor and battery. Inspect for trapped wiring, loose clamps and gaps around the enclosure before starting the engine.
  8. Start and inspect at idle. Listen for hissing, check for a warning light and verify that the engine responds normally. A short drive should include gentle acceleration before full-load testing.
  9. Recheck fasteners after the first heat cycle. Heat can settle silicone couplers and expose a clamp that was only finger-tight.

Symptoms after installation and fixes

Check-engine light or unstable idle

Recheck the airflow-sensor connector, sensor orientation, breather hose and every coupler between the filter and throttle body. An intake leak after the sensor can make the engine run lean and trigger a fault. If the light remains, retrieve the diagnostic code before replacing parts; the intake may have exposed an unrelated problem.

Loss of power in traffic or during repeated pulls

Inspect the heat shield, airbox seals and hood clearance. A filter drawing hot air can feel weaker once the engine bay heat-soaks. Check that the filter is not blocked, over-oiled or installed against a panel. Do not assume a larger advertised horsepower number will overcome a heat or sealing problem.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Whistling, rattling or excessive induction noise

Look for an unevenly seated filter, a loose clamp, a disconnected breather line or a shield touching the body. Some additional intake sound is normal, especially with less enclosed designs; a sharp whistle that changes with throttle usually deserves an air-leak inspection.

Hood or headlight interference

Stop driving until clearance is confirmed. This matters particularly with aftermarket hoods and the aFe 51-72202-R’s documented factory-HID exclusion. Do not force the hood closed or reshape the intake without manufacturer approval.

Maintenance: keeping the airflow system working

Dry reusable filter

Remove loose debris as directed, use only the cleaner specified for that filter and allow it to dry completely before refitting. Never reinstall a damp filter. Inspect the pleats and sealing edge; a tear or distorted gasket can bypass filtration.

Oiled reusable filter

Clean it at the interval in the kit instructions, let it dry, then apply the specified amount of oil evenly. Excess oil can migrate toward the airflow sensor. If the vehicle develops a fault after service, inspect the sensor and filter oiling before assuming the engine calibration is at fault.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Closed boxes and heat shields

Keep the shield, lid and seals tight. A missing edge seal can turn an enclosed design into an open under-hood intake. Check mounting points during routine oil changes and after work near the headlamps, battery or front bumper.

Availability and discontinued-part cautions

The historical Mopar 77060003AC catalog entry and the obsolete CORSA 463576 page are useful for identifying possible parts, but neither proves current inventory. The aFe 54-10712 instructions identify a 2005 application without confirming that the kit is still sold. Before paying, verify the exact part number, genuine stock, return policy, replacement-filter supply and emissions documentation.

Do not let a low price override a fitment mismatch. A correct, currently supported intake with a replacement filter is usually a better ownership choice than an obsolete kit that requires improvisation around sensors, brackets or hood clearance.

A practical decision framework

  1. Start with the selector. Reject any product that does not list the exact year, engine and trim or cannot be confirmed in writing.
  2. Apply the legal filter. Eliminate a product whose emissions status conflicts with the registration jurisdiction.
  3. Choose thermal strategy. Favor a shielded or closed design when the car sees traffic, hot climates or repeated high-load use; prioritize sound and simplicity only when that trade-off suits your driving.
  4. Choose maintenance style. Select dry if you want to avoid oiling; select oiled only if you will follow the cleaning procedure precisely.
  5. Check physical constraints. Confirm factory HID headlights, hood changes, sensor connectors and breather routing.
  6. Evaluate claims conservatively. Treat 15 HP, 18 lb-ft, 18.18 HP and 14 HP/14 lb-ft as separate manufacturer claims, not a ranking.
  7. Confirm long-term support. Make sure replacement filters and instructions are available before installing the kit.

Bottom-line recommendations by owner profile

  • 2011–2023 300C owner: Begin with CORSA 44017D/44017 because its documented range, heat shield and filter choices cover the broadest later-model span in the available evidence. Resolve the CARB EO issue and exact trim before ordering.
  • 2023 Chrysler 300 5.7L owner: Compare the K&N/AIRAID 69-2526TP against the current application selector, using its 18.18-HP figure only as an estimate and accounting for the California warning.
  • 2005 300C owner: Investigate aFe 54-10712 as the exact-year lead, then confirm stock, emissions documentation and included hardware.
  • 2004–2006 owner seeking an OEM-branded option: Use Mopar 77060003AC as a historical part-number lead, not as proof of current availability.
  • 2011–2014 owner with factory HID headlights: Do not choose aFe Momentum GT 51-72202-R without written confirmation, because the product announcement excludes that configuration.
  • Any owner considering CORSA 463576: Treat it as obsolete until a seller verifies genuine stock and complete fitment documentation.

The useful meaning of “best” here is the intake that fits without improvisation, meets the applicable emissions rule, manages under-hood heat for your driving, uses a filter you are willing to maintain and remains supportable with replacement parts. Advertised peak horsepower is only one input—and the least comparable one across these listings.
