For a 4K gaming monitor that can reach 144Hz on a PC, these five models are worth comparing: the Gigabyte M32U, LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B, ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQ, Samsung Odyssey G70D S32DG70, and Gigabyte M32UC. They are a reasoned shortlist, not a universal performance ranking: available evidence combines manufacturer specifications with third-party assessments, and does not establish that every model was tested under the same conditions.

One important distinction for console buyers: a monitor’s 144Hz PC capability does not mean a PlayStation or Xbox will output 4K at 144Hz. The cited ASUS and Gigabyte specifications describe 4K/120Hz console support. Choose by the features and use case that matter to you, then confirm the exact regional model and live listing before purchasing.

How to choose a 4K 144Hz monitor

Match the refresh rate to your device

A 144Hz rating describes the monitor’s maximum refresh rate in a supported configuration; it does not guarantee that a game or connected device will deliver 144 frames per second. The ASUS PG32UQ is specified for 4K/120Hz console play and 4K/144Hz PC play using Display Stream Compression (DSC) over DisplayPort 1.4. Gigabyte lists 120Hz console game support for the M32U. Check the supported resolution and refresh rate for your specific console, graphics card, input, and cable before treating 144Hz as a practical target. Check panel, size, and shape

The shortlist includes 32-inch-class flat IPS options and a curved alternative. A 27-inch display may suit a smaller desk or a closer viewing distance, while a larger screen can make 4K detail easier to appreciate. Confirm the precise screen size and panel type for the SKU sold in your region; product names and specifications can differ by market.

Look beyond the refresh-rate headline

Adaptive-sync support, response behavior, and image quality at different frame rates all affect the experience. Check whether the monitor’s VRR mode is compatible with your PC graphics card or console. RTINGS notes that the M32U has more blur and inverse ghosting at lower refresh rates, so its 144Hz specification alone does not describe its performance throughout the refresh range. RTINGS Gigabyte M32U review

Set realistic HDR expectations

HDR labels are specifications, not a guarantee of compelling HDR image quality. LG lists DisplayHDR 400 for the 32GR93U-B, while ASUS lists DisplayHDR 600 for the PG32UQ. TechRadar describes the M32UC as HDR400 and cautions that its HDR experience is limited relative to expectations. Consider these ratings alongside independent assessments rather than treating the number as a direct measure of real-world impact.

Verify ports and desk features

HDMI 2.1 is relevant to current-console connectivity, but check the exact port capabilities and supported modes for the specific device you plan to connect. If you use one keyboard and mouse across multiple computers, a KVM switch or USB hub may be useful. USB-C is not synonymous with laptop charging: RTINGS reports 15W charging for the M32U, and TechRadar says the M32UC’s USB-C does not provide enough power to charge a laptop. Review stand adjustment, included cables, USB features, and power delivery on the exact SKU. RTINGS Gigabyte M32U review · TechRadar 2025 4K gaming monitor guide

Five models to compare

Model What the cited sources establish Best fit to consider
Gigabyte M32U 31.5-inch, 4K, up to 144Hz; HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, and USB-C. RTINGS reports VRR, KVM, a USB hub, USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, and 15W charging. Gigabyte lists console game mode at 120Hz. A feature-rich flat display for a PC-and-console desk, especially if switching peripherals between computers is useful.
LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B LG lists a 32-inch 4K, 144Hz IPS model with HDMI 2.1, G-SYNC Compatible, FreeSync Premium, DisplayHDR 400, a 1ms GtG specification, and an adjustable stand. A flat 32-inch option for buyers prioritizing manufacturer-listed adaptive-sync support and stand adjustment.
ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQ ASUS describes a 32-inch 4K UHD IPS display with 144Hz PC support and HDMI 2.1. It specifies 4K/120Hz console play without chroma subsampling and 4K/144Hz PC play via DSC over DisplayPort 1.4. A connectivity-focused option for someone who wants clearly stated 4K/120Hz console support as well as 4K/144Hz PC capability.
Samsung Odyssey G70D S32DG70 RTINGS identifies its reviewed unit as a 32-inch, 4K, 144Hz IPS monitor and lists it among competing models. The available cited material does not establish comparative results for this model. A candidate to investigate alongside the others, particularly if you can consult a full review and verify the local SKU.
Gigabyte M32UC TechRadar’s 2025 guide selects it as its best curved 4K gaming monitor for most people and reports 31.5 inches, 4K at 144Hz, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C. The guide notes that USB-C power is insufficient to charge a laptop and that color settings needed adjustment. A curved alternative if you prefer that screen shape; weigh TechRadar’s dated assessment and caveats against your own needs.

What to know about each shortlist pick

Gigabyte M32U: flexible connections and switching

The M32U combines a 31.5-inch 4K panel and 144Hz PC refresh rate with HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, and USB-C. RTINGS describes the reviewed unit as having VRR, a KVM switch, and a USB hub, making it a practical choice to consider for a setup shared between a gaming PC and another computer. Its 15W USB-C charging is modest; do not assume it can power a laptop adequately. RTINGS characterizes PC gaming performance as decent and console gaming as very good, while noting weaker behavior at lower refresh rates. Gigabyte M32U specifications · RTINGS Gigabyte M32U review

LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B: adjustable stand and sync specifications

LG’s specifications make the 32GR93U-B a straightforward flat 32-inch option to compare if you want HDMI 2.1, a 144Hz rating, and stated G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium support. LG also lists a 1ms GtG response-time specification and DisplayHDR 400. These are manufacturer specifications, not evidence of an independent comparison with the other models in this shortlist. ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQ: explicit 4K/120Hz console support

ASUS describes the PG32UQ as a 32-inch 4K UHD IPS monitor. Its published connection details distinguish PC and console use: 4K/144Hz PC play uses DSC over DisplayPort 1.4, while console play is specified at 4K/120Hz without chroma subsampling. This makes it a useful candidate when both a gaming PC and a current console will share the display. ASUS also lists DisplayHDR 600; that tier is a specification, not a complete measure of HDR performance. ASUS PG32UQ specifications

Acer Nitro 27in 4K 3840x2160 IPS 72Hz DFR 144Hz Gaming Monitor VG270K L1
  • Quality Visuals: The VG270K 27" IPS monitor with 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
  • AMD FreeSync Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
  • Quick Refresh Rate: Different content has different refresh rate and resolution requirements. If you are playing an FPS or racing game, you will need a monitor with a high refresh rate. However, if you are doing office work or streaming videos, a higher resolution will be more beneficial. With DFR technology, users can choose a higher resolution, or a higher refresh rate based on what is suitable for them.
  • Responsive: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter if the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting
  • ZeroFrame Design: With a Nitro VG270K monitor, you’ll want to see as much of the display as possible. Get more real estate with the near bezel-less design, allowing you to see more and do more. The ZeroFrame design lets you place multiple monitors next to each other for a seamless, almost uninterrupted view.

Samsung Odyssey G70D S32DG70: compare further before choosing

RTINGS identifies the reviewed S32DG70 as a 32-inch 4K 144Hz IPS monitor and names it among competing displays. The cited material does not provide enough comparative findings to support a specific “best for” claim. Treat it as a model to investigate rather than assuming it outranks other options; check the full review and confirm that the unit available to you is the same version. Gigabyte M32UC: curved-screen alternative

The M32UC is the curved option in this group. TechRadar’s 2025 guide chose it as its best curved 4K gaming monitor for most people and reports a 31.5-inch screen, 4K at 144Hz, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C. The same guide says its USB-C does not supply enough power to charge a laptop and notes that color settings needed adjustment. That is one publication’s dated editorial assessment, not a guarantee of current pricing, availability, or suitability for every setup. TechRadar 2025 4K gaming monitor guide

Another model to investigate

TechRadar’s 2025 guide also discusses the Corsair Xeneon 32UHD144 as a 4K 144Hz option. It describes the monitor as expensive and considers its HDR performance underwhelming for that price. Before you buy

  • Check the full model number and regional SKU, not just the product-family name.
  • Confirm the input and refresh-rate combination you need, including whether console play is specified at 4K/120Hz.
  • Match adaptive-sync support to your console or graphics card rather than relying on a generic VRR or sync label.
  • Check USB-C power delivery, KVM and hub features, stand adjustment, and included cables against the exact product listing.
  • Review independent HDR assessments if HDR gaming matters to you; a DisplayHDR tier alone does not establish the viewing experience.
  • Verify current price, stock, warranty terms, and return policy with a seller in your market. Those details are not established by the cited product and review material.
