For Windows, download the free 3DMark Demo from Steam. If you already purchased 3DMark, reinstall it through the store or account used for that purchase. On Android and iPhone or iPad, install the official app from the relevant app store. The official distribution information reviewed here does not establish a separate official APK file, so an APK mirror should not be treated as an official download.
3DMark is benchmark software for measuring gaming performance on PCs and mobile devices. The free Windows edition is useful for running the tests it includes, but it does not unlock every benchmark or feature. Requirements also vary by test, so check the requirement for the benchmark you intend to run rather than relying on one universal minimum.
Where to download 3DMark Basic
Your correct download route depends on the device and on whether you own a paid Windows license.

Download 3DMark for Windows
Free Demo through Steam
UL Benchmarks identifies Steam as the officially supported channel for downloading the Windows Demo. This is the appropriate route if you want to try 3DMark without owning a paid edition.
- Open the Steam client or the Steam website and sign in to the account on which you want the software installed.
- Search for the official 3DMark application and open its store page.
- Choose the Demo or free installation option shown by Steam.
- Select an installation drive with enough free space for the tests you plan to use. The Windows product page lists 2 GB for the minimum Steel Nomad and Steel Nomad Light installation and 9.8 GB to install all tests under the recommended configuration.
- Launch 3DMark from your Steam Library. The tests and controls available in the Demo are determined by the edition and the current Windows build.
The Steam Demo is not a full-feature license. Some benchmarks and functions are restricted to paid editions, and unsupported tests do not appear in the Windows Basic/Demo or Steam Demo interface.
Reinstalling a paid Windows copy
Use the purchase channel rather than downloading an unrelated installer. A copy bought through Steam should be downloaded again from Steam. A copy bought through Epic Games Store should be redownloaded there. If you purchased directly from UL, sign in to the 3DMark.com account associated with that purchase and use the account download.

- Sign in with the purchasing credentials.
- Open your library, owned products or account download area.
- Install 3DMark and allow the client to apply any current update.
- If the license is not detected, verify that you are using the original account; buying or installing the Demo under a different account will not transfer the paid entitlement.
3DMark on Android: free app and APK questions
Official Android installation
UL’s Android product information describes 3DMark as a free download for non-commercial use. Install it through the official Android app listing for your device.

- Open the device’s official app store.
- Search for 3DMark and check the publisher identity before selecting Install.
- Review the requested permissions and the storage requirement shown by the listing.
- Install the app, then open the benchmark you want to run.
- Allow the first-run download or asset installation to finish before starting a test; interrupting that process can leave the test unavailable until the app completes its setup.
Is there an official 3DMark APK?
The official download guidance reviewed for Windows documents Steam, Epic Games Store and 3DMark.com account downloads. The official mobile information describes app-store distribution. It does not confirm a separately hosted official APK file.
That means an APK found on a third-party mirror should not be labelled an official 3DMark APK. Sideloading also makes it harder to verify that the package is authentic, current and unmodified. For a supported installation, use the official Android app listing. If your organization manages Android devices and requires sideloading, obtain a package only through a channel that UL explicitly confirms for your edition and region; do not assume that a mirror is authorized.
3DMark on iPhone and iPad
UL announced Wild Life as a free standalone iOS app. Use the official Apple App Store listing for the device rather than a downloaded installer file.

- Search for the official 3DMark or Wild Life listing and verify the publisher.
- Tap Get, authenticate with the Apple ID if prompted, and wait for the installation.
- Open the app and allow any benchmark assets to download.
- Run the test only after the device meets the listed operating-system, memory and graphics requirements.
The iOS app is separate from the Windows Demo. A Windows purchase does not automatically turn the iOS app into a paid Windows-style license, and a mobile result should not be treated as interchangeable with a PC result.

System requirements by platform and test
There is no single minimum that applies to every 3DMark benchmark. The following figures are published for the named tests and platforms.

The Windows product page specifies the 2 GB minimum in connection with Steel Nomad and Steel Nomad Light. It should not be read as proof that every other benchmark will run with the same graphics, API or storage capability. A test-specific requirement page is the authoritative check for a particular workload, especially for newer or more demanding tests such as Wild Life.

These are Wild Life requirements, not universal requirements for every mobile benchmark. A device can satisfy the operating-system requirement and still lack the required graphics API or available storage. Check the listing and test-specific requirement page after selecting the benchmark.
What the free Basic or Demo edition includes
On Windows, Basic/Demo provides a subset of the available benchmarks and functions. The feature matrix marks other tests and features as paid-edition only, so the set of choices visible in the Demo is intentionally limited. If a test does not appear in the Windows Basic/Demo or Steam Demo interface, it is not unlocked by changing a setting or reinstalling the same edition.

For personal testing, the free Windows Demo or mobile app may be sufficient. A business that uses results as part of a commercial service, paid testing operation or other commercial activity should review the license and use Professional Edition where required.
Current Windows version
UL’s Windows product page lists version 2.32.8897, released August 3, 2026. The accompanying release notes describe this as a minor update that does not affect benchmark scores. Version numbers and store listings are volatile, so verify the number in the official product or store listing at the time you install.
If Steam shows an update after installation, let it complete before running a comparison. Mixing results from materially different benchmark builds can complicate troubleshooting even when a particular minor update is documented as score-neutral.
How to run a useful benchmark and compare scores
Prepare the device
- Install the same benchmark and version on each system you intend to compare.
- Close games, browsers and background workloads that could consume CPU, GPU memory or battery power.
- Connect a laptop or phone to power when the test instructions recommend sustained performance.
- Allow the device to reach a normal operating temperature before recording a result; a cold-start score and a heat-limited score answer different questions.
- Record the device model, processor, graphics hardware, operating-system version and the exact 3DMark test name.
Make like-for-like comparisons
3DMark produces scores intended for comparing similar systems. Compare the same benchmark on systems with the same or closely matching CPU and GPU combinations. A score from a desktop graphics card is not a direct equivalent to a phone score, and a Wild Life result should not be presented as interchangeable with Steel Nomad or another test.

When two results differ, first check that the test, edition, resolution or mode, device class and software version match. Then investigate power mode, thermal throttling, driver changes and background activity. A single score is evidence about that run under those conditions; it is not a universal ranking of every device.
Troubleshooting installation and test problems
The Windows Demo is not visible
Confirm that you are looking in Steam for the official 3DMark listing and that Steam is signed in. If you own a paid copy, check the original purchase channel instead of expecting the free Demo to expose paid tests. Direct purchasers should sign in to the associated 3DMark.com account.
A benchmark is missing
Check the edition feature matrix. Missing tests can be an edition restriction rather than a failed installation. Unsupported tests do not appear in the Basic/Demo or Steam Demo interface.
The mobile app will not install
Compare the device with the requirements for the selected test: Android Wild Life requires Android 10 or later, 3 GB of memory and Vulkan 1.1; iOS Wild Life requires iOS 13 or later, 2 GB of memory and Metal. Free the required storage, update the operating system where the hardware supports it, and retry from the official app listing.
The result seems unusually low
Repeat the same test after closing background apps and allowing the device to cool. Check that the system is using its intended power mode and that the graphics driver or operating-system update has not changed. Compare only with results from the same test and similar hardware before drawing a conclusion.
