Microsoft’s 13-inch Surface Pro configuration with a Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, 16GB of memory, a 1TB SSD and an OLED touchscreen is listed at $1,649.99, down from $2,099.99. That is a $450 reduction, or about 21.4%. It is a substantial deal, but the available price history shows the same configuration at $1,599.99 previously, so “lowest price ever” is not supported.
Which Surface Pro configuration is on sale?
The deal applies to the 2026 13-inch Surface Pro built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite. It combines 16GB RAM, 1TB of solid-state storage and Microsoft’s OLED PixelSense display. This is a premium configuration rather than the entry model: Microsoft’s 13-inch range also offers Snapdragon X2 Plus processors, LCD display options and lower storage tiers.

How good is the $1,649.99 price?
TechRadar reported the Amazon price at $1,649.99 on October 8, 2026, compared with a listed price of $2,099.99. The $450 saving works out to approximately 21.4% off that listed price. However, the same report notes an earlier observed price of $1,599.99. At $1,649.99, the current offer is therefore near a recent low, not demonstrably the all-time lowest price.

What the OLED and X2 Elite premium buys you
OLED display
The OLED panel is the clearest visible upgrade over LCD versions. It supports the 2880 × 1920 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate listed for the 13-inch model. OLED is particularly relevant for buyers who spend long periods viewing photos, video or dark interfaces, although the deal’s price premium only makes sense if display quality matters to your work.
Snapdragon X2 Elite
The X2 Elite is the higher processor tier in Microsoft’s 13-inch lineup, above the X2 Plus. Microsoft says the new generation delivers up to 53% faster graphics than the previous generation. That is a manufacturer comparison, not an independent test of this discounted unit, and real results depend on the application and workload.

16GB RAM and 1TB SSD
These capacities reduce the need for immediate upgrades. The 1TB drive is useful for large project files, media libraries and local applications; 16GB memory is the configuration’s fixed headline capacity in this deal and should be weighed against your expected multitasking needs.
Battery, portability and ports
Microsoft rates the 13-inch Surface Pro for up to 15.5 hours of local video playback and up to 11.5 hours of active web browsing under its stated test conditions. Those figures are laboratory-style manufacturer claims, not a guarantee of runtime for mixed work, high brightness or demanding software.

At 1.97 pounds before adding a keyboard, the tablet is designed to travel easily. Its two USB-C/USB4 ports support modern peripherals and displays, but buyers who need many permanent connections may also need a hub or dock. Microsoft lists a Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock among the accessory options.
Does the Surface Pro include a keyboard?
No. Microsoft sells the Surface Pro keyboard separately, and the Surface Slim Pen is also optional. The keyboard is essential if you expect laptop-style typing; the pen is aimed at handwriting, sketching and other inking tasks. Add these accessories to the total cost before comparing the deal with a conventional laptop.

Who should consider this deal?
- Professionals and students: The kickstand, full Windows environment and detachable keyboard design can replace a tablet and laptop for many workflows.
- Creatives: The OLED touchscreen and optional Slim Pen suit visual work, annotation and sketching, while 1TB storage provides room for larger files.
- Frequent travelers: The 1.97-pound tablet body and long claimed video-playback rating favor mobile use.
It is less compelling if you do not need OLED, already own a suitable laptop, require many built-in ports, or will need to purchase several accessories immediately. An X2 Plus or LCD Surface Pro may deliver better value when the premium display and processor are not priorities.
