The 2026 Aston Martin DBX S can be ordered with an optional Bowers & Wilkins surround system. The upgrade has 23 speakers, double amplification and 1,600W of system output, while the standard Aston Martin Premium Audio installation uses 14 speakers and 800W. Bowers & Wilkins is therefore an upgrade, not the DBX S’s standard audio fitment.
What audio system does the 2026 DBX S have?
Aston Martin offers two audio configurations for the DBX S. The standard installation is Aston Martin Premium Audio. Buyers who select the upgraded package receive a bespoke Bowers & Wilkins surround system engineered for the DBX S cabin.

The 1,600W figure describes the complete double-amplified surround system as Aston Martin specifies it. It should not be interpreted as the rating of a standalone aftermarket amplifier.

23-speaker layout
The optional system increases the count from 14 to 23 speakers. Aston Martin and Bowers & Wilkins describe a layout that combines conventional front and rear channels with dedicated drivers for high frequencies, midrange, bass and the overhead sound field.

Aluminium Double Dome tweeters
Aluminium Double Dome tweeters handle the system’s high-frequency reproduction. They are one of the specific Bowers & Wilkins technologies named in the DBX S product descriptions, rather than a generic reference to premium speakers.
Continuum midrange speakers
Continuum midrange drivers are also specified. These speakers cover the vocal and instrumental range where clarity, imaging and tonal balance are especially noticeable in music and spoken audio.

3D and headliner speakers
Dedicated 3D or headliner speakers add height channels above the occupants. Their purpose is to create a more enveloping surround presentation than a conventional two-dimensional speaker layout.

Bass speakers and ported subwoofer
The package includes dedicated bass speakers and a powerful ported subwoofer. The subwoofer is part of the vehicle-specific design, so the quoted system specification does not imply that a similarly rated home or portable subwoofer can substitute for it.

How Aston Martin integrates the system
This is not a generic Bowers & Wilkins product installed after the fact. Aston Martin says the system is acoustically engineered to the DBX S interior’s volume, shape and available space. Speaker positions, enclosure design, amplification and processing are consequently matched to the vehicle cabin rather than sold as a universal kit.
Bowers & Wilkins is Aston Martin Lagonda’s official audio partner. Aston Martin describes the optional system as bringing recording-studio speaker technology directly to the DBX, while the company’s DBX S materials identify the 23-speaker, 1,600W configuration.

Is Bowers & Wilkins standard or optional?
It is optional. The standard DBX S specification is Aston Martin Premium Audio with 14 speakers and 800W. The Bowers & Wilkins system must be selected as an upgrade when the vehicle is configured, subject to the equipment and ordering rules in the buyer’s market.
Option content, pricing and build timing can vary by country, model-year allocation and retailer. Ask an Aston Martin retailer to show the audio package on the written vehicle specification or order form; do not assume that every DBX S in dealer stock has it.

Can you buy or retrofit the DBX S system separately?
No verified retail SKU, replacement package or official retrofit kit for the complete DBX S installation has been identified. The available information presents it as an OEM configuration/dealer option, not as a separately purchasable consumer product.
- Generic Bowers & Wilkins home and portable speakers are not compatible substitutes for the factory installation.
- A standalone amplifier with a 1,600W label would not reproduce the DBX S system’s speaker layout, tuning, processing or vehicle integration.
- Retrofitting would involve more than replacing speakers: the dedicated headliner channels, ported subwoofer, amplification, wiring, control integration and acoustic calibration are all part of the system design.
If you already own a DBX S, ask an authorized Aston Martin retailer whether a vehicle-specific parts or software solution exists for your VIN. Without written confirmation, treat the option as factory-order equipment rather than a guaranteed post-sale upgrade.
Availability and 2026 buying guidance
Aston Martin Japan planned deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2025, a market-specific schedule that does not establish worldwide delivery timing. For a 2026 DBX S, confirm current availability directly with a retailer in your country.

- Verify the stated 23-speaker and 1,600W configuration on the build sheet.
- Ask whether the vehicle is factory-ordered or already built, because an in-stock vehicle may not be changeable.
- Obtain the option price, taxes, delivery impact and warranty treatment in writing.
What the numbers mean in practice
The move from 14 to 23 speakers adds more separately positioned drivers, including overhead channels, while the increase from 800W to 1,600W provides the additional amplification specified for the upgraded system. Those figures alone do not predict sound quality: cabin tuning, speaker placement, signal processing and enclosure design determine how the system performs in the DBX S.
