There is a problem with most lists titled “20 Free Sites to Download and Stream Bollywood Movies”: they reach 20 by mixing piracy domains, dead services, unlicensed YouTube uploads and platforms that do not offer permanent downloads.
This guide takes a narrower, safer approach. It covers the currently verifiable free or partly free options, explains where they work, and distinguishes legitimate offline viewing from downloading an MP4 file. The usable list is shorter—but the information is more likely to remain accurate.

20 Free Sites to Download and Stream Bollywood Movies
Important: There are not 20 current, verified services offering free legal Bollywood movie downloads. Legitimate platforms generally provide streaming, advertising-supported playback or temporary, app-controlled offline viewing—not a movie file that you permanently keep.

Availability can change by country, title, licensing window, device and account. A film appearing in search results does not guarantee that it can be played where you live.

1. YouTube official studio and distributor channels
YouTube is the most practical place to check first. Search for a film title followed by full movie official, then inspect the channel before pressing play.
Channels worth checking
- Rajshri publishes full-length Hindi films and titles from the Rajshri catalog.
- Shemaroo Movies carries Shemaroo’s catalog, including films such as Housefull 2, Dhamaal and Deewaar.
- Goldmines offers full-length Hindi films and Hindi-dubbed South Indian movies.
- Ultra Movie Parlour publishes Ultra’s Hindi, Marathi and other Indian film catalog.
- T-Series uploads official music and film content, including licensed full-film releases when available.
- NH Studioz is another official source linked with full-film listings.
These channels are better signals than a random account using “full movie” in its title. Still, no channel should be treated as permanently authorized for every upload: licenses can change, videos can be removed and regional restrictions can apply.
How to check an upload
- Look at the channel name, branding and verification status.
- Open the video description and check whether it identifies the studio, distributor or catalog owner.
- Be cautious if the upload has poor branding, a suspicious external download link or a title that appears copied from another account.
- Check whether the video plays normally in your country. A search result alone is not proof of availability.
2. YouTube’s free ad-supported movie catalog
YouTube also maintains a separate free movie area. In supported countries, open youtube.com/movies or look on the YouTube homepage for the “free-of-charge movies for you” shelf.
YouTube officially lists this catalog in the United States, Australia, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom. Movies are free to watch with advertising, but the selection changes regularly and is not guaranteed to be Bollywood or Hindi-language content.
This catalog is separate from ordinary uploads on studio channels. Therefore, a film may be free on an official channel while not appearing in the free movie shelf—or the reverse.
3. Tubi Indian Cinema
For viewers in the United States, Tubi has an Indian Cinema collection. The service is free and ad-supported; Tubi says that no subscription or credit card is required for its free service.

Tubi’s catalog is market-specific. The cited Bollywood collection should be treated as a US-facing option, not a worldwide promise. Tubi presents this service as streaming, so do not expect a permanent movie-file download.
4. ZEE5 Free Movies
ZEE5 has a page labeled Free Movies. It currently advertises more than 1,500 free movies globally, although the page includes Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and other-language titles rather than only Bollywood releases.
Examples shown on the page include 36 Farmhouse, Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?, Helmet, 14 Phere, Malaysia to Amnesia, Nail Polish, Taish, Atkan Chatkan, Pareeksha and Satyameva Jayate.
ZEE5’s free and paid status can differ by title and country. A Hindi-language landing page does not mean every film is free in the United States, India or any other particular market. Open the title page and confirm its playback status before planning a viewing.

5. Amazon MX Player
Amazon MX Player is the current name of the India-focused free streaming service. It should not be described simply as the former standalone “MX Player OTT” service.

Amazon says the service can be accessed through its website and app, as well as surfaces including the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV and connected TVs. It is supported by advertising and includes Hindi and regional movies, original programs, television content and Hindi-dubbed international programming.
The service’s website describes its movies, web shows and Vdesi content as free. It is primarily an India-focused option, not a generally available US Bollywood catalog. As with other services, use an official in-app or on-site Download or Offline control if one is offered; do not assume that streaming access creates a downloadable movie file.
6. Official Indian archive and government channels
Official channels associated with the Films Division of India, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and national film archive projects can be useful for older Indian cinema, documentaries and public-sector film material.

The upload may be licensed, preserved for archival purposes or subject to another rights arrangement. YouTube publication alone does not prove that copyright has expired.
What about Eros Now?
Eros Now remains a Bollywood-focused service, but it should not be advertised as a free full-catalog platform. Its help information identifies Eros Now Premium as the paid tier that provides access to all titles and complete features.
A basic account may provide limited samples, trailers and selected first episodes. The accurate description is: Eros Now may offer limited free previews or sample content. It is not accurate to call it a free site for the entire Bollywood catalog.
How legitimate downloads actually work
“Download” has two different meanings in movie guides:

- Offline viewing: encrypted content stored inside an app and controlled by the service. It may expire, require a periodic internet connection or disappear when licensing ends.
YouTube offline viewing
On an eligible video in the YouTube mobile app, open the watch page, select More, and choose Download. The control may be missing because:
- the uploader disabled offline playback;
- the title is restricted in your region;
- the video is not eligible for downloading;
- YouTube Premium is required in your country; or
- the account or device does not meet the applicable requirements.
In the United States, ordinary YouTube video downloads generally require YouTube Premium. Downloaded videos are encrypted and play only inside the YouTube app. They are not transferable movie files. Depending on region and content, the app may require reconnection after 48 hours or up to 29 days.
Safe rule for other platforms
Use offline viewing only when the platform itself displays an official Download or Offline button. Browser extensions, third-party downloaders, torrent files and “direct download” pages are not equivalent to an authorized platform feature. They may violate terms of service, infringe copyright or expose your device to malicious files and misleading installers.
Why common “20-site” lists are unreliable
- Voot: Voot was shut down in August 2023. Its content moved through JioCinema and later into JioHotstar.
- Freevee: Amazon discontinued the standalone Freevee service in 2025 and moved free content into Prime Video.
- Every YouTube full-movie upload: the words “full movie” do not establish that the uploader has rights.
- VPN access: changing your apparent location does not grant distribution rights or override a service’s terms.
- Worldwide availability: Bollywood rights are licensed by territory, and subtitle, language, device and account restrictions can apply separately.
A practical way to find a free legal film
- Search YouTube using the title plus
full movie official. - Check Rajshri, Shemaroo Movies, Goldmines, Ultra Movie Parlour, T-Series and NH Studioz directly.
- For US viewers, browse Tubi’s Categories → Indian Cinema section.
- Check ZEE5’s Movies → Free Movies page and confirm the title’s status.
- For viewers in India, search Amazon MX Player’s movie catalog.
- Use the official YouTube free movie shelf where it is available.
- Before downloading for travel, look for the platform’s own offline control and read its expiration rules.
If a site asks you to disable antivirus protection, install an unknown player, provide payment details for a “free” file or click through several aggressive download pages, leave it. Those are warning signs—not evidence of a legitimate movie service.

Are there really 20 legal free sites for Bollywood movies?
Not currently in a way that can be responsibly verified. A list of 20 usually includes piracy sites, outdated services, random unlicensed uploads or platforms without a free Bollywood catalog. The strongest current options are official YouTube channels, YouTube’s free movie catalog, Tubi in the US, ZEE5’s free section, Amazon MX Player in India and selected official archive channels.
Can I download Bollywood movies as MP4 files for free?
Legitimate services generally do not provide permanent MP4 files for free streaming titles. Some offer temporary, encrypted offline viewing inside their apps. Use only an official Download or Offline button supplied by the platform.
Is YouTube legal for watching free Bollywood movies?
It can be, when the upload comes from an official studio, distributor or clearly authorized rights holder. The phrase “full movie” by itself proves nothing. Check the channel identity and description, and remember that a title may be blocked or removed in your country.
Is Tubi available worldwide?
No. Tubi’s catalog is market-specific. The Indian Cinema collection referenced here is the US-facing catalog, so viewers elsewhere may see different titles or no access.
Is Amazon MX Player available in the United States?
Amazon MX Player is primarily an India-focused free, ad-supported service. It should not be presented as a generally available US Bollywood streaming service.
Why can I see a movie but not play or download it?
Rights are often restricted by country, account, device, title, licensing window or offline-playback policy. YouTube may also hide its Download control when the uploader disables downloads, the title is restricted or Premium is required.
The Bottom Line
The safest answer is not a padded directory of 20 sites. Start with official YouTube rights-holder channels, then check YouTube’s free movie shelf, Tubi’s US Indian Cinema collection, ZEE5 Free Movies and Amazon MX Player in India. Treat archive channels as sources for historical and documentary material, not guaranteed current Bollywood releases.
And keep the download distinction clear: free legal streaming rarely means a permanent movie file. If the platform does not provide its own Download or Offline button, do not treat a third-party downloader as an authorized alternative.
