There is no evidence here for a universal ranking of the best enterprise contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms. A useful shortlist starts with your contract workflows, systems, governance requirements, and operating model—not a vendor’s position in a list. Gartner’s 10 November 2025 Magic Quadrant abstract names 16 evaluated vendors, but it does not rank them as the ten best choices for every enterprise. This guide selects ten of those vendors as candidates to investigate and separates documented product descriptions from the wider evaluation you will need to do.

What enterprise CLM software should cover

CLM software can support contract work and agreement information across functions. Before comparing products, decide which stages and teams you need the system to serve. For example, define whether your scope includes authoring and negotiation, approval and execution, a searchable agreement repository, or post-signature obligations. Gartner’s 2025 abstract describes organizations pursuing cross-functional CLM strategies; its 2024 abstract describes CLM as an area of enterprise investment. Neither establishes which product is best for a particular buyer.

That distinction matters: a platform that supports a broad set of processes may still be a poor fit if its workflows, integrations, data controls, or administration model do not match your organization.

10 enterprise CLM platforms to investigate

The ten vendors below are a shortlist, not a rank order. Each appears in Gartner’s 10 November 2025 Magic Quadrant abstract. The three product descriptions are attributed to the vendors’ own published materials; they are not independent validation. For the other seven, the cited evidence establishes inclusion in Gartner’s evaluated vendor set, not specific product capabilities.

  1. Icertis ICM Platform

Icertis describes a platform for centralizing contracts, ingesting legacy and third-party agreements, and turning contract information into structured, searchable data. It also describes AI-driven natural-language answers and insights. Its integration page lists pre-built adapters for SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce, Workday, Adobe Sign, and DocuSign. Treat these as Icertis’s product claims and confirm which capabilities, connectors, and licensing apply to your edition.

  2. DocuSign CLM

DocuSign describes agreement search, AI-standardized data, role-based access, document generation, collaboration, workflow, and a central repository. It also lists integrations such as Salesforce and SAP Ariba. These are vendor-published descriptions, not comparative findings.

  3. JAGGAER contract management

JAGGAER describes AI-enabled contract management, native e-signature and DocuSign integration, and connections to SAP, Oracle, and Workday. Its positioning may be relevant to organizations evaluating contract work alongside procurement or source-to-pay processes. Confirm the scope of those connections and capabilities with the vendor.

  4. Agiloft

Agiloft is one of the vendors named in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated set. The available evidence does not establish a product differentiator for this guide, so assess it against the same requirements as the other candidates.

  5. Conga

Conga appears in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated vendor set. Its inclusion is a reason to consider it for evaluation, not evidence of a particular feature advantage or fit.

  6. Ironclad

Ironclad appears in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated vendor set. Validate its current capabilities and suitability directly against your workflow and system requirements.

  7. LinkSquares

LinkSquares appears in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated vendor set. The cited material does not establish a specific capability comparison for it.

  8. Sirion

Sirion appears in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated vendor set. Treat that as market-set context, not a product ranking or proof of fit.

  9. Workday

Workday appears in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated vendor set. The available product evidence does not establish a specific differentiator for this shortlist.

  10. Coupa

Coupa appears in Gartner’s 2025 evaluated vendor set. Confirm its current product scope and fit directly rather than inferring capabilities from inclusion in the list.

Gartner’s 2025 abstract also names CobbleStone Software, ContractPodAi, GEP, IntelAgree, Ivalua, and Malbek. They are not included in this ten-vendor shortlist, but their presence in the same dated evaluation set means buyers may consider them where appropriate. The abstract is a landscape reference, not proof that the ten above are superior.

How to compare the shortlist against your requirements

Use the same scenarios and questions with every vendor. That makes it easier to distinguish a capability that is demonstrated for your use case from one that appears only in a product description.

Workflow coverage and configurability

  • List your contract types, teams, approval paths, templates, authoring and negotiation steps, execution process, and post-signature tasks.
  • Ask vendors to demonstrate representative workflows, including exceptions and approval changes, rather than only a standard demonstration path.
  • Determine which workflow changes your administrators can make and which require vendor or implementation-partner work.

Repository, migration, and contract data

  • Identify the legacy agreements to migrate, their formats, and the metadata and relationships you need to preserve.
  • Test search and metadata extraction against representative agreements, including older or third-party contracts.
  • Ask how you can export agreements and their structured data, and how versions and related agreements are handled.

AI functions and controls

  • Specify which tasks matter to you: drafting, clause or term extraction, risk review, summaries, or natural-language search.
  • Test outputs on your own agreements and ask how users verify them, how errors are corrected, and what controls govern access to AI-generated results.
  • Do not treat an AI feature description as evidence of accuracy or performance; the reviewed sources do not provide independent comparative tests.

Integration fit

  • Map the CRM, ERP, procurement, office/document, and e-signature systems that must exchange data with CLM.
  • For each connector, confirm whether it is native, separately licensed, or requires custom work, and identify who will own and support the integration.
  • Check that the proposed data flow fits your existing processes rather than assuming a listed integration will cover every requirement.

Governance and security

  • Review role permissions, audit records, data residency, retention, and access boundaries against your organization’s requirements.
  • Ask for current vendor documentation and assurances relevant to your deployment, geography, and product edition.
  • Set out who can access sensitive agreements and how access changes are recorded and reviewed.

Implementation and ownership

  • Estimate migration, configuration, training, administration, and ongoing change-management work using your own contract volumes and processes.
  • Clarify which internal teams will own templates, workflows, integrations, permissions, and support after launch.
  • Request an implementation plan tied to your scope. The reviewed sources do not establish comparable implementation timelines.

Commercial fit

Request a current quote based on your users, agreement volumes, contract types, required modules, integrations, and deployment needs. Comparable public prices were not established in the reviewed sources, so a price comparison without equivalent scope would be misleading.

A practical evaluation sequence

  1. Define scope: Document the contract stages, teams, agreement types, and outcomes that matter. Separate essential requirements from preferences.
  2. Build a requirements matrix: Score each candidate against the workflow, repository, AI, integration, governance, implementation, and commercial questions above. Record what was demonstrated, what was only claimed, and what remains to be confirmed.
  3. Run scenario-based demonstrations: Use representative agreements and workflows, including exceptions. Have the relevant business, legal, procurement, IT, security, and records stakeholders assess the results.
  4. Complete procurement and security review: Validate permissions, auditability, data handling, integration ownership, migration, and vendor assurances for the specific edition and deployment under consideration.
  5. Compare equivalent proposals: Ask vendors to quote against the same documented scope and identify assumptions, modules, services, and recurring costs.

What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you

Gartner’s 10 November 2025 abstract provides a dated evaluated-vendor set, not a buyer-independent top-ten ranking. The official vendor materials cited for Icertis, DocuSign, and JAGGAER describe their own products and integrations, so those descriptions should be verified for current availability, geography, edition, and licensing.

The available evidence does not establish comparable pricing, implementation durations, hands-on test results, or independently verified performance across these vendors. A requirements-based evaluation and current vendor proposals are necessary to determine which product fits your enterprise.
