Vector Ink is a vector graphics and logo-design application for people creating logos, icons and other scalable artwork on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android devices. Its toolkit centers on shape construction, paths and editable vector text, making it a practical fit for solo designers and small teams that need mobile-friendly vector production rather than a painting-first workspace. A virtual stylus, line stabilizer and vector tracing support more controlled touch-based drawing.

The freemium structure provides a free plan, while paid choices include Weekly, Monthly and Yearly subscriptions with premium access, plus a Lifetime Access option covering all features. Separate 5 A.I. Credits and 10 A.I. Credits packages support the AI icon generator. Projects can be saved and synchronized through the cloud, and the app supports iOS, Android and macOS, giving users a way to move work between mobile and desktop environments. SVG, PNG and JPG import and export also help it fit into existing asset workflows.

Its strongest case is specialized vector construction: Shape Builder combines and edits forms, Boolean operations create compound shapes, and outlined text becomes editable vector paths. Color palette generation, layer management, pen tools and tracing broaden the logo workflow without shifting the product toward general illustration. The trade-off is equally clear: Vector Ink does not offer the pressure-sensitive painting depth expected from painting-centered apps. Choose it for portable vector logos, icons and cloud-connected asset creation; choose an alternative when expressive brushwork or deeper raster painting is the primary requirement.

Vector Ink pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Shape Builder, Pen, tracing and Boolean tools support precise vector editing
    • Imports and exports SVG, PNG and JPG files across supported devices
    • Cloud synchronization and AI icon generation extend mobile design workflows
  • Where it doesn't
    • Its focus is vector graphics rather than pressure-sensitive painting
    • Premium access is divided among weekly, monthly, yearly and lifetime plans
    • AI generation uses separate 5- or 10-credit packages
