dotpict is a mobile pixel-art drawing application for people who want to create, animate, save, and share pixel artwork from iOS or Android devices. Its workflow combines cursor-based pixel placement with draw-along tracing, plus tools such as a mesh pen and outline feature. The app also includes autosave and community functions, making it suited to artists who value both creation and participation in a mobile pixel-art community.
The pricing model is freemium, with Free and Premium plans. The Free plan includes pixel-art drawing, autosave, and community posting. The published plan information identifies Premium as an optional in-app purchase, while the listed plan details do not describe additional Premium features. That structure makes dotpict easy to approach for basic mobile drawing and sharing, but buyers focused on paid-tier capabilities should assess whether the available Premium offering matches their workflow.
For animation, dotpict goes beyond static pixel placement with animation creation, onion skinning, and animated GIF creation. It supports saving work automatically and exporting in GIF format. Its community layer adds artwork posts, likes, comments, follows, prompts, events, and challenges, giving the app a social dimension that is central to its positioning. Choose dotpict if you want mobile pixel-art creation with animation and community interaction. Choose another tool if you need desktop support or broader production export formats.
