Use an AI music tool to turn a short musical brief into a draft, then refine the parts that matter: the song’s structure, lyrics or instrumental arrangement, and the sound you want. For a first complete song, start with Suno or Eleven Music; for an instrumental, try Soundverse AI Beat Maker. The exact styles and musical details each tool can produce are not established here, so check the vendor’s current options before relying on a specific genre, instrument, or sound.
Prepare A Brief Before You Generate
A useful brief gives the generator a clear job without asking it to guess what you mean by “good music.” Decide whether you need a vocal song or instrumental, what the music is for, how it should feel, and which elements must be audible. If you already have lyrics, a melody, or a beat idea, say so.
For example, write: “Instrumental background music for a short cooking video. Warm, relaxed mood; steady mid-tempo feel; acoustic guitar and light percussion; no vocals; leave space for narration.” This is a prompt example, not a claim that every tool supports those exact instruments or controls. Check that the chosen tool can accommodate the details you care about.
- Vocal song: include the subject, point of view, mood, and any lyrics you want used.
- Instrumental: state that there should be no vocals, describe the intended use, and name the musical elements you want to hear.
- Specific timing or key: include it in your brief only when the tool provides a relevant control. Soundverse offers MIDI editing; Boppy lists controls for duration, BPM, key, and time signature.
Choose A Tool For The Draft You Need

Make And Refine The Music
- Pick the output. Decide whether your first draft needs vocals or should be instrumental. Choose a tool above whose listed workflow matches that output.
- Enter the brief. Describe the intended use, mood, vocal choice, and musical elements. Add your own lyrics or musical idea if relevant and supported by the tool. Avoid relying on a named genre or instrument until you have checked that the product can handle it.
- Generate a draft. Use the product’s available generation controls. If it provides options for structure, tempo, or other musical details, set only the ones that matter to your brief.
- Listen for one problem at a time. Check whether the result has the right vocal or instrumental focus, whether the arrangement suits its intended use, and whether any important detail is missing. Then revise the prompt or use a listed editing feature where available.
- Refine the song or arrangement. Suno lists editing, remixing, extensions, and section replacement. Eleven Music lists section editing and inpainting. SongIntent lists line-level revisions. Soundverse lists MIDI editing. The available controls differ, so use only the relevant options shown in your account.
- Export in the format you need. Confirm the available export format and limits in the product before building a workflow around it. Soundverse lists WAV, separated stems, and MIDI; Suno lists stem export, subject to plan limits.
Check Rights Before Sharing Or Publishing
Do not assume that a generated draft is cleared for every use. Suno says its Free Plan does not include commercial rights. Eleven Music says commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games. For other uses or products, check the vendor’s current terms; the supplied product details do not establish a general license for every tool.
If you use a real person’s voice, lyrics, or recorded audio, get the needed consent and check the platform’s terms for that material. In the United States, the Copyright Office says entirely AI-generated works are not copyrightable, prompts alone do not make someone the author, and only human-authored parts of a mixed work may be protected. Applicants registering a work with more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material must disclose it and describe the human author’s contribution.
