To make a karaoke track with AI, either ask Suno to generate an original backing track or upload a song you have permission to use to an AI vocal separator and download its instrumental stem. For a familiar song, separation is the relevant workflow; for a new song, generation gives you more control over the arrangement, but the supplied product details do not establish that Suno can guarantee a vocal-free result.
Choose The Right Starting Point
- Make a backing track for an original song: Start with Suno, which generates songs with vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, and production. Describe the sound and arrangement you want, and request no lead vocal in your prompt. Treat that as a creative instruction, not a guarantee; check the result and the current product details for the controls available to you.
- Make karaoke from an existing recording: Use a vocal separator such as Vocal Remover AI, Moises, Fadr, or StemRoller. These tools separate vocals from music, but removing vocals can also affect instruments that overlap with the voice. Listen to the output before using it.

Generate A New Backing Track
- Write down the performance needs. Decide the song length, approximate pace, mood, key if you know it, and the instruments that should carry the melody between vocal lines. Karaoke needs a clear place for a singer, a steady pulse, and an arrangement that leaves the vocal range uncluttered.
- Describe the arrangement in Suno. Try a prompt such as: “Create an original karaoke backing track, no lead singing or spoken words. Upbeat pop-rock, steady drums and bass, bright rhythm guitar, short melodic fills between vocal phrases, and a clear instrumental ending.” These are prompt suggestions, not claims about specific Suno controls or guaranteed output.
- Listen for vocal sounds and singable space. Check the beginning, gaps between phrases, and ending. If the generated track contains singing or vocal-like sounds, revise the prompt or use a vocal separator on the generated audio if your use and the product terms allow it.
- Export only after checking the available options. Suno’s supplied details include stem export, but do not specify the exact stems, plan requirement, or export format for this workflow. Check Suno’s current product information before relying on stem export to create an instrumental.
Remove Vocals From A Song You Can Use
- Prepare the source recording. Use a recording you made or have permission to process. Keep a copy of the original so you can compare the separated result.
- Upload it to a separator. For a straightforward browser workflow, open Vocal Remover AI, upload the audio file, and preview the separated tracks. Its listing also supports video uploads up to 500 MB. If you prefer another platform, Moises supports web, desktop, iOS, and Android; Fadr Basic offers stem separation and MP3 downloads; StemRoller has Windows and macOS desktop builds.
- Choose the instrumental result. Listen to the instrumental preview from start to finish. Pay special attention to backing vocals, reverb, and instruments that share the singer’s frequency range; separation may leave vocal remnants or thin out part of the accompaniment.
- Download and check the file. Vocal Remover AI lists WAV and MP3 downloads. Fadr Basic lists MP3 downloads. Moises lists several export formats, though some separation options require a paid plan. Confirm the current options in the tool before starting if you need a particular format.
- Rehearse with the actual track. Check that the opening gives the singer enough time, the pulse is comfortable, and the ending is clear. If a vocal remnant or damaged instrument distracts from singing, try another separator or use an original backing track instead.
Use A Prompt That Fits Karaoke
Give an AI music generator concrete arrangement instructions rather than only naming a broad style. For example, a slow ballad prompt could say: “Original instrumental karaoke backing, no lead vocal or spoken words, slow piano and soft strings, restrained drums, melody fills between vocal phrases, and a held final chord.” A dance prompt could say: “Original instrumental karaoke backing, no singing, steady four-on-the-floor drums, pulsing bass, bright synth accents, a short intro, and a clean ending.” These examples describe desired creative results; product support for particular genres, controls, or guaranteed vocal-free generation is not established here.
Check Consent And Terms Before Sharing
Use voice recordings only with the speaker’s consent, and check each platform’s current terms for processing, exporting, and sharing the source recording and resulting track.
