How To Make A Lo-Fi Track With AI
- Decide what the track should feel like. Write a compact brief before generating: instrumental or vocal, mood, approximate tempo, and the parts you want. For example: “instrumental lo-fi beat, mellow and warm, relaxed drums, soft keys, rounded bass, simple arrangement.” Avoid naming an artist as a style shortcut; describe the musical qualities you want.
- Generate a complete instrumental. Open Soundverse AI Beat Maker and enter the brief. If you want more control over beat details, use InsMelo AI Beat Maker and set genre, BPM, mood, and structure. Make a few variations from the same brief so you can compare their groove and arrangement.
- Pick the strongest version by listening for the basics. Check that the kick and snare feel relaxed, the bass supports the harmony, and the lead parts leave breathing room. If the result sounds too busy, simplify the prompt and request fewer layers. If it feels too polished for your intended lo-fi sound, ask for a rougher, softer character rather than assuming the generator will add a particular effect.
- Refine parts when the tool exposes them. In Beat Shaper, edit generated parts in its piano roll and adjust genre, mood, energy, or syncopation controls. With Aimi, work in its editable multitrack session to arrange and mix parts. These controls can help shape the track, but no specific lo-fi effect or preset is established for either tool.

Aimi offers session export, but check its site for the current export details. Choose stems or MIDI when you plan to edit individual parts in another production workflow; choose a mix when you only need a finished audio file.
- Review the result and confirm usage terms before sharing. Listen for abrupt cuts, masking between parts, and sections that feel repetitive. Check the current vendor terms for the tool and plan you used before publishing or monetizing the track. Beat Shaper Starter is limited to non-commercial use; Soundverse lists commercial licenses on Creator & Pro; InsMelo says commercial rights depend on subscription or license terms; Aimi restricts commercial releases involving its sample library and uploaded content.
How To Get A More Convincing Lo-Fi Result
- Describe musical decisions directly: a relaxed groove, restrained drums, soft keys, sparse arrangement, or muted bass. Change one part of the prompt at a time when comparing generations.
- Keep space in the arrangement. A short list of parts gives the generator a clearer brief than asking for many instruments and changes at once.
- Use a tool with editable parts if the generated result is close but not quite right. Beat Shaper, Soundverse AI Beat Maker, and Aimi each describe editing or multitrack capabilities, though their workflows differ.
- Listen on the device you expect to use for playback. A bass part or quiet detail that seems clear on one set of speakers may be hard to hear elsewhere.
