As of August 11, 2026, the best web hosting deal depends on what you mean by best. IONOS has the lowest verified first-year price at $1 per month for one year, Hostinger has the strongest headline introductory price if you are willing to prepay four years, SiteGround offers a shorter one-year commitment, Bluehost is the clearest WordPress and WooCommerce comparison, Namecheap is attractive when you want hosting and a domain together, and DreamHost is the flexible-billing option.

Do not compare the displayed monthly equivalent by itself. The important numbers are the total charged today, the length of the introductory term, and the renewal price afterward. The figures below are provider-published promotional prices captured for the date above; your country, currency, taxes, checkout path, and selected term can change the final cart total.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Disclosure: Some provider links in this guide may be monetized. That does not change how the plans are compared, and the renewal price and initial commitment are shown wherever the researched provider pricing makes them available.

Quick verdict: the best hosting deal for each buyer

Best for Provider and plan Introductory price Commitment Renewal price
Lowest first-year bill IONOS WordPress hosting $1/month; $12 for the first year 12 months $12/month afterward
Lowest headline price for a long commitment Hostinger's current Premium deal $2.99/month; $143.52 total 48 months $10.99/month for a year
Shorter prepaid commitment with broad features SiteGround StartUp deal $2.99/month; $35.88 for the first year 12 months prepaid $17.99/month
WordPress beginners and WooCommerce sellers Bluehost Starter $2.95/month; $106.20 for 36 months 36 months $9.99/month
Hosting-and-domain bundle Namecheap Stellar $26.88 for one year 12 months $55.88/year
Monthly billing and lower commitment risk DreamHost monthly hosting Varies by live plan card Monthly billing available Displayed beside the promotional price

My overall take: Hostinger is the most compelling introductory deal for a beginner who already knows they will keep a site for several years. IONOS wins on the first-year invoice, but not automatically on long-term value. SiteGround is the better fit when four-year prepayment is unacceptable. Bluehost deserves a close look if WordPress, WooCommerce, phone support, or a more explicitly defined ecommerce tier matters more than the lowest entry price.

1. Hostinger: best headline deal for a four-year commitment

Hostinger's Premium plan is listed at $2.99 per month for 48 months, with a total introductory charge of $143.52. The provider also lists a regular four-year total of $575.52 and a renewal price of $10.99 per month for a year.

That makes Hostinger the strongest headline deal in this comparison for someone comfortable paying four years in advance. It is not the same as paying $2.99 month to month. The full $143.52 is the more useful number for your budget, and the renewal price is the number to use when estimating the cost of keeping the site after the initial term.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Premium is listed with:

  • Three websites
  • 20 GB of SSD storage
  • A free domain for the first year
  • Weekly backups
  • A CDN
  • Ecommerce tools and AI tools
  • Two mailboxes per website free for one year

At the listed prices, the first four years cost $143.52. If the first renewal year were charged at $10.99 per month, that additional year would cost $131.88, making the five-year average about $4.59 per month before taxes, add-ons, or future price changes. That calculation is useful context, but it is not a guarantee of the price five years from now.

Who should choose Hostinger?

Choose it when you want to launch multiple small sites, a portfolio, a blog, or a basic store and are confident you will keep hosting for the whole 48-month term. The deal is less attractive if you are testing an idea, expect to move hosts soon, or need a plan that can be paid monthly.

The most important question is not whether $2.99 looks cheap. It is whether the included storage, backups, email allowance, domain terms, and renewal price fit your expected ownership period.

2. SiteGround: best one-year commitment

SiteGround StartUp is listed at $2.99 per month when prepaid for 12 months, or $35.88 for the first year. It renews at $17.99 per month, equivalent to $215.88 for a full year at that rate.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This is the clearest choice for readers who want a shorter commitment than Hostinger's 48 months or Bluehost's 36 months. You pay more after renewal than the introductory price suggests, but you are not locking up three or four years of hosting money while you are still deciding whether a project will succeed.

The StartUp listing includes a free domain, website transfer, daily backups, 24/7 expert support, free SSL, CDN, email, and caching. SiteGround's WooCommerce page lists the same $2.99-per-month starting price for StartUp and positions it for small stores. The WooCommerce StartUp plan is one-site hosting; its traffic is described as unmetered but still subject to resource limitations.

The renewal trade-off

At $17.99 per month, SiteGround's listed renewal price is roughly six times the $2.99 introductory rate. That does not make the first year a bad deal, but it makes the second-year budget especially important. SiteGround is a sensible pick when daily backups, migration help, caching, support, and a one-year term are worth more to you than the lowest possible renewal cost.

3. IONOS: lowest verified first-year price

IONOS lists WordPress hosting at $1 per month for a one-year term, or $12 for the first year. The deal is shown as 93% off a listed $14-per-month price, followed by $12 per month after the promotional period.

Seagate Portable 5TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0 for PC, Mac, PS4, & Xbox - 1-Year Rescue Service (STGX5000400), Black
  • Easily store and access 5TB of content on the go with the Seagate portable drive, a USB external hard Drive
  • Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
  • To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition software required
  • This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
  • The available storage capacity may vary.

On the first invoice alone, IONOS is the least expensive verified offer in this researched group. But the $12-per-month follow-on price must appear next to the $1 offer in any honest comparison. If you keep the site for a second year at the listed post-promotion price, the two-year total would be $156, before taxes and extras. That is why the lowest first-year price is not automatically the lowest long-term cost.

The IONOS WordPress offer advertises SSD storage and caching, DDoS and malware protection, a 99.99% uptime claim, and a WordPress launch flow that includes AI. These are provider claims, not independent uptime or security test results.

IONOS also sells a website builder

IONOS lists its MyWebsite Now builder separately at $1 per month for one year, marked as 95% off a listed $20-per-month price. That builder offer includes a domain, SSL certificate, and email. Do not confuse it with WordPress hosting: a hosted website builder and a WordPress installation can have different editing tools, migration options, plugin support, and long-term flexibility.

4. Bluehost: best WordPress and ecommerce comparison

Bluehost lists three particularly relevant tiers:

Plan Introductory price First-term total Renewal price Notable positioning
Starter $2.95/month $106.20 for 36 months $9.99/month Entry-level WordPress hosting
Business $3.95/month $142.20 for 36 months $13.99/month Higher-tier business option
eCommerce Essentials $9.95/month $358.20 for 36 months $24.99/month More explicit WooCommerce and ecommerce positioning

The Starter plan is listed with 10 websites, 10 GB of NVMe storage, a free domain for the first year, free SSL, and an estimated 40,000 monthly visits. The visit figure is an estimate supplied by Bluehost, not a universal performance guarantee or an independent benchmark.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Bluehost is a reasonable Bluehost Starter comparison for a WordPress beginner who values a mainstream WordPress ecosystem and wants to see a clearly defined upgrade path for business or WooCommerce use. The $2.95 price applies to the first 36-month term; it is not a month-to-month price.

Which Bluehost tier makes sense?

  • Starter: best for a small number of ordinary WordPress sites when 10 GB of storage is enough.
  • Business: worth comparing when your site needs a higher-tier plan, but calculate the $13.99-per-month renewal before choosing it over another host.
  • eCommerce Essentials: the relevant tier for a buyer who wants an explicitly ecommerce-oriented package. Its $24.99-per-month renewal is substantially higher than its introductory price.

Bluehost makes more sense when WordPress and store functionality are central requirements. It is not the obvious winner for a buyer who wants only the cheapest annual bill.

5. Namecheap: best hosting-and-domain bundle

Namecheap's hosting-and-domain bundle lists Stellar at $26.88 for the first year, reduced from $55.88, and renewing at $55.88 per year. The plan lists 20 GB of SSD storage, three websites, and a free CDN.

Eligible domains may be free or discounted for the first year under the bundle, but bundled domains renew at their standard rates after that first year. Check the exact domain extension and renewal price separately from the hosting renewal price. A low hosting bill can still be followed by a higher combined invoice if the domain is no longer promotional.

Namecheap is a good fit when you want a simple annual hosting bill and domain registration in the same purchase. It is less useful as a direct price comparison with Hostinger or Bluehost because their headline rates require longer prepaid terms, while Namecheap's listed bundle is annual.

Ignore expired seasonal pricing

A separate Namecheap summer-sale page showed Stellar at $1.91 per month, but the page states that the promotion ended on July 27, 2026. It should not be treated as a live deal for August 11, 2026. Hosting companies sometimes leave seasonal or Black Friday pages accessible after the stated promotion ends, so always check the active plan card and shopping cart.

6. DreamHost: best comparison for monthly billing

DreamHost is the most useful comparison for a buyer who wants to avoid multi-year prepayment. DreamHost states that all of its web-hosting plans support monthly billing, while longer terms receive larger discounts. The provider also displays the exact renewal rate beside the promotional price on each live plan card.

Because the research extract does not expose one stable universal DreamHost deal, this article does not invent a promotional amount. Check the live plan card for the plan, term, currency, and renewal rate you actually select.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

DreamHost includes a free SSL certificate with web hosting and a free three-month trial of Professional Email on its web-hosting plans. Mailbox counts vary by plan. The email trial should not be mistaken for permanently included professional email, and the plan card should be checked for what happens after the trial.

Choose DreamHost monthly hosting when flexibility matters more than the lowest possible monthly equivalent. Paying more over a short period can be rational if it prevents you from prepaying three or four years for a project that may be abandoned or moved.

How to compare the real cost of a hosting deal

1. Start with the amount charged today

Multiply the promotional monthly equivalent by the required number of months. The resulting prepaid amount is the real first-term cost:

Provider Promotional equivalent Required term Calculated first-term cost
IONOS WordPress $1/month 12 months $12
Namecheap Stellar bundle $26.88/year 12 months $26.88
SiteGround StartUp $2.99/month 12 months prepaid $35.88
Bluehost Starter $2.95/month 36 months $106.20
Hostinger Premium $2.99/month 48 months $143.52

This table explains why a $2.99 monthly price can require much more cash upfront than a $1 monthly price. The monthly equivalent is useful for comparing similar terms, but it should never replace the total checkout amount.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Add the renewal period to your budget

Provider Listed renewal Approximate annual renewal cost Renewal warning
Hostinger Premium $10.99/month $131.88/year Four-year prepayment delays the first renewal decision
Bluehost Starter $9.99/month $119.88/year Introductory price applies only to the first term
SiteGround StartUp $17.99/month $215.88/year Large increase from the $2.99 introductory rate
IONOS WordPress $12/month $144/year The $1 rate lasts for one year
Namecheap Stellar $55.88/year $55.88/year Domain renewal can be separate from hosting renewal

These are simple calculations from the listed rates. They exclude taxes, optional privacy services, paid email, premium backups, extra storage, and any future pricing change. A provider can also change future promotions without changing the renewal rate currently displayed at checkout.

3. Compare equivalent products

Shared web hosting, managed WordPress hosting, cloud hosting, VPS hosting, and website builders are not interchangeable. A cheap website-builder plan may not give you the same plugin or migration control as WordPress. A shared hosting plan is not the same as a scalable cloud or VPS environment. Decide first what platform you need, then compare prices within that category.

4. Audit what is included

Before paying, check each of these items on the exact plan card:

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

  • Number of websites and whether the plan is limited to one site
  • Storage type and capacity
  • Backups, including frequency and retention
  • SSL certificate
  • CDN and caching
  • Email accounts, mailbox limits, and whether email is promotional
  • Domain inclusion and the domain's renewal price
  • Migration or transfer assistance
  • Support channels and availability
  • WordPress, WooCommerce, or other ecommerce features
  • Resource limits that may apply even when traffic is described as unmetered

Which deal should you choose?

Choose Hostinger if you want the lowest introductory multi-year rate

Hostinger is the practical default for a beginner who needs several small sites, wants included beginner-oriented tools, and is comfortable with a 48-month commitment. Keep enough budget aside for the $10.99-per-month listed renewal.

Rank #4
Seagate Portable 4TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0, 1-Year Rescue | Everyday HDD storage. Plug-and-play backup. Windows & macOS. Adobe CC trial included. 1-Year Warranty
  • Easily store and access 4TB of content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive.Specific uses: Personal

Choose IONOS if the first-year invoice is your main priority

IONOS is the best verified first-year bargain at $12 for the initial year. It becomes a different value proposition after the price changes to $12 per month, so decide whether the low entry cost or the expected second-year cost matters more.

Choose SiteGround if you want to reassess after one year

SiteGround costs $35.88 for the first prepaid year and includes a feature set centered on backups, support, transfer help, SSL, CDN, email, and caching. It is a better fit than a four-year deal when you want a shorter commitment and are prepared to evaluate the $17.99-per-month renewal.

Choose Bluehost for WordPress or WooCommerce-oriented buying

Bluehost offers a clear progression from Starter to Business and eCommerce Essentials. Compare the first-term and renewal prices, especially for the ecommerce tier, before treating its low entry price as a bargain.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose Namecheap if the domain bundle simplifies your purchase

Namecheap is compelling for buyers who want annual hosting and a domain in one transaction. Verify domain eligibility and standard domain renewal pricing rather than assuming the first-year domain promotion continues.

Choose DreamHost if you do not want to prepay several years

DreamHost is the right comparison when monthly billing is more valuable than the lowest advertised monthly equivalent. Verify the live plan card because its exact promotion varies by plan and term.

Hosting deal checkout checklist

  1. Confirm the product type. Make sure you are buying web hosting, managed WordPress hosting, a builder, cloud hosting, or another product that actually matches your project.
  2. Select your country and currency. Promotions can vary by geography, currency, logged-in status, and checkout path.
  3. Record the required term. Write down whether the advertised price requires 12, 36, or 48 months of prepayment.
  4. Compare the cart subtotal. Do not rely on the large monthly-equivalent number.
  5. Locate the renewal line. Confirm the renewal amount and whether it is billed monthly or annually.
  6. Review the domain terms. Check whether the domain is free or discounted only for year one and what it costs to renew.
  7. Remove unwanted extras. Review backup, security, privacy, email, and other add-ons before payment. Keep anything you genuinely need, but do not assume an unchecked box is part of the advertised base price.
  8. Check site limits. Confirm website count, storage, email, resource limits, and ecommerce support.
  9. Save the order details. Keep the receipt, plan name, promotional term, renewal price, and cancellation or refund terms.
  10. Set a renewal reminder. Put the renewal date and expected annual cost in your calendar, particularly after a 36- or 48-month purchase.

What these deals do not tell you

A promotional price is not a performance test. No hands-on uptime, migration, speed, support-response, or load testing was performed for this comparison. The listed 99.99% uptime figure for IONOS and Bluehost's estimated monthly-visit figure are provider claims, not independent benchmarks.

Likewise, a free SSL certificate does not mean every security need is solved. Backups, malware protection, access controls, software updates, and site hardening can still require attention. Read the plan's exact backup and security terms rather than treating a feature label as a complete protection strategy.

Web hosting is not server hardware or livestreaming

For ordinary website hosting, you rent server infrastructure operated by the provider. You generally do not need to buy a physical server, networking appliance, or other hardware to take advantage of these deals. If you outgrow shared hosting, compare cloud or VPS plans based on resource and management needs instead of buying consumer hardware merely because the word hosting appears in the product description.

A website host also is not a continuous video-streaming platform. A creator who needs continuous YouTube livestreaming may need separate cloud livestreaming infrastructure alongside a website host; such a service is not a replacement for hosting a website.

StreamNeo keeps this creator workflow separate from web hosting: upload a prerecorded video, paste your YouTube stream key, and let the stream run in the cloud while your PC stays off.

Pricing accuracy and seasonal-deal warning

Hosting promotions change frequently. Prices can differ by country, currency, billing term, tax treatment, account status, and the page used to reach checkout. Some provider pages retain old seasonal copy after a promotion has ended. For example, a Hostinger Black Friday page describes an offer that ran from October 13 through December 8, 2025; it is not evidence of a live August 2026 Black Friday deal.

Use the prices in this article as a dated comparison, not a promise that the same offer will remain available. Confirm the final cart total and renewal terms immediately before purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Hostinger's $2.99-per-month price month to month?

No. The researched Hostinger Premium offer requires 48 months of prepayment and totals $143.52. The listed renewal price is $10.99 per month for a year.

Which hosting deal has the lowest first-year cost in this comparison?

IONOS WordPress hosting has the lowest verified first-year price at $1 per month for one year, or $12 total. It then lists a $12-per-month price, so it is not automatically the cheapest over multiple years.

Which web host has the shortest prepaid commitment?

SiteGround StartUp and IONOS WordPress hosting both use a 12-month term in the researched offers. Namecheap's Stellar bundle is also listed annually. DreamHost supports monthly billing on its web-hosting plans.

Are free domains free forever?

Usually not. In the offers covered here, domain benefits are generally free or discounted for the first year only. Check the exact domain extension and its standard renewal price separately from hosting renewal.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Should I buy a four-year hosting plan?

Only if you are confident you will keep the site with that provider for the full term and can comfortably pay upfront. A shorter annual or monthly option costs more per month in many cases but reduces commitment risk.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Pick IONOS for the smallest first-year bill, Hostinger for the strongest long-term introductory offer when four-year prepayment is acceptable, SiteGround for a one-year support-and-features package, Bluehost for WordPress and WooCommerce comparisons, Namecheap for an annual hosting-and-domain bundle, and DreamHost when monthly billing matters most. Whatever you choose, compare the full prepaid amount and the renewal price in the final cart before paying.
