Sony’s PlayStation E3 streams were scheduled differently each year, so there is no single current start time or viewing link for “the Sony E3 event.” The official guides covered the 2015 press conference, the 2016 press conference and three days of LiveCast, and the 2017 media showcase and four days of PlayStation Live. The times and destinations below are historical; they are not instructions for a live broadcast today.
How could viewers watch the PlayStation E3 stream?
Sony offered web and video-platform options alongside console apps in its historical guides. A PS4 or PS3 was optional, not required. The destinations differed by year, and Sony’s listed links should not be taken as a guarantee that a live stream or replay remains available now.

2015: PlayStation E3 press conference
Sony’s June 15, 2015 viewing guide listed PlayStation.com, Twitch, YouTube, and the Live Events Viewer application on PS4 or PS3. These were viewing routes for that event.
2016: Press conference and three days of LiveCast
Sony’s June 6, 2016 guide named live.playstation.com, YouTube, Twitch, and the Live Events Viewer app on PS4 or PS3. It also mentioned a PS4 community event and cinema screenings. The guide described the LiveCast as demos and interviews, with more than 18 hours of original live video content scheduled by Sony—not a viewer-count figure.

2017: Media showcase and PlayStation Live
Sony’s May 19, 2017 guide listed live.playstation.com, Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. Its PlayStation Live schedule included the media showcase as well as companion programming. Sony described more than 15 hours of live content across dozens of PS4 and PS VR games; that figure refers to programming, not audience size.

The schedules and platform lists come from Sony’s year-specific guides: 2015, 2016, and 2017. The sources give Pacific times; they do not establish a current event schedule or present-day replay access.
Was the LiveCast the same as the main Sony showcase?
No. Sony’s main press conference or media showcase was a distinct program from its additional LiveCast or PlayStation Live coverage. The companion programming included game footage, demos, trailers, and interviews, and in 2016 and 2017 ran across multiple days. In TIME’s 2017 report, Sony executive Shawn Layden joked about the game-focused format: “The crowd will only have to suffer I think in aggregate 90 seconds of me,” he said. “And in the middle will be all the games.” That comment concerned the 2017 event, not every PlayStation E3 presentation. TIME’s 2017 report described the event as streaming from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall.
