What this setting is for
This is the routine cloud-synchronization control documented by Rockstar for the PC launcher. It is different from making a manual copy of a save folder and different from a platform store’s general cloud feature. Leave the setting enabled on any PC where you want the launcher to use Rockstar’s cloud service.
Do I need to reset my profile before enabling it?

2. Check for a proxy or VPN-related connection problem
Rockstar says the profile-data error can also occur when a network or internet service provider uses a proxy or VPN. If one is active, test the launcher on a normal direct connection or with the proxy/VPN temporarily removed, subject to your organization’s network rules.
