The OPPO Find X5 Pro is a 2022 premium Android phone whose headline strengths are a pair of 50MP rear cameras, five-axis stabilization on the main camera, and fast wired and wireless charging. Its camera system is capable, but launch-era reviewers also found oversaturated or oversharpened processing and limited detail from the 2x telephoto. It is best considered as an older imaging-focused flagship—not a current model whose availability, software status, or value can be assumed.
What makes the Find X5 Pro an imaging-focused flagship?
OPPO built the Find X5 Pro around three rear cameras: a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 13MP telephoto camera. The main camera has the five-axis optical image stabilization system described in OPPO’s product specifications. OPPO says that system combines three-axis sensor shift with two-axis lens OIS and advertises up to three degrees of anti-shake. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements of real-world results.
The processing story includes OPPO’s MariSilicon X imaging processor and Hasselblad Camera for Mobile software collaboration. These are parts of the phone’s imaging system and branding; neither, on its own, demonstrates that its photos are better than those from another phone. OPPO’s UK 2022 launch release also identified a 32MP front camera and said Hasselblad software was intended to tune color toward a natural look.
How good are the cameras in practice?
Launch-era reviews found appealing results from the main and ultra-wide cameras, while noting that processing could alter the look of images. Android Authority’s reviewer, Robert Triggs, said the camera “certainly doesn’t aim for color realism.” In the review, he described pleasant outdoor exposure and white balance, alongside oversaturation and oversharpening in some images. TechRadar also praised some standard and ultra-wide results but criticized the camera overall.

The telephoto camera is the system’s clearest hardware compromise for people who photograph distant subjects. Android Authority reported 2x optical zoom and comparatively weaker detail from the smaller telephoto sensor. That does not mean every competing phone will take better pictures; it does mean buyers who prioritize long-reach zoom should compare the actual telephoto reach and detail of the alternatives they are considering.
Android Authority reported 4K video recording at up to 60fps and tested the stabilization alongside the camera system. OPPO’s launch materials emphasize night video and the five-axis system, but the available review findings do not establish that stabilization or night video beats competing phones. TechRadar also noted that the Find X5 Pro dropped the predecessor’s microscope camera.

Android Authority disclosed that OPPO supplied its review unit, that its reviewer tested it for one week, and that the software was not the finalized commercial build. The observations above are therefore launch-review findings, not a fresh test of every regional variant or current software build.

OPPO UK’s launch-era specifications describe a 6.7-inch, 10-bit curved AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 5000mAh battery, 80W wired charging, and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. The same UK release specifies a ceramic back and IP68 rating. These figures describe the UK launch configuration; bundled accessories and specifications can vary by market.

Android Authority reported overheating during some benchmark and gaming use, while TechRadar described a buggy interface on its review unit. Those are reviewer observations from launch-era testing, not guarantees about every device or a diagnosis of its present-day condition. The reviewers also published conflicting phone weights—218g and 195g—so a single weight should not be assumed without confirming the exact regional variant.
Is the Find X5 Pro still worth buying?
That depends on the local price, condition, software status, and whether its camera strengths fit your needs. The available evidence supports considering it for its main and ultra-wide cameras, high-resolution display, and fast charging; it is a less natural fit if you need long-range optical zoom or want a phone with confirmed ongoing security updates.

Before buying a used or imported unit, check the exact model number and region against your carrier’s supported network bands, SIM requirements, and coverage. Confirm the seller’s warranty and return terms, battery and physical condition, included charger, and whether the device has any regional software restrictions. Android Authority reported that OPPO sold it in the UK and Europe and did not officially launch it in the US at the time of its review; that is historical context, not a current stock or compatibility check.
Android Authority reported OPPO’s launch-era commitment of three years of OS updates and four years of monthly security patches, with security support expected through at least 2026. That promise does not verify the phone’s patch status now. As of October 2026, check the latest update information for the exact region and model before relying on it for sensitive or business use.

How to compare it with another phone
Compare like with like using the specific model and local offer, rather than relying on launch positioning. The most consequential checks are:
Quick Recap
- Camera processing: Look for examples of color and sharpening in the lighting conditions you care about.
- Main and ultra-wide consistency: Check whether color, exposure, and detail remain consistent when switching lenses.
- Telephoto reach: Compare optical zoom range and detail, especially if you photograph sports, wildlife, or distant subjects.
- Video and stabilization: Compare available recording modes and independent footage, not stabilization claims alone.
- Display and charging: Weigh the curved AMOLED screen and launch-rated charging speeds against the other phone’s screen and charging approach.
- Support and ownership: Confirm current update status, regional network compatibility, warranty, condition, and total price.
