You do not need to give IRL Pro your Google password to stream to YouTube. IRL Pro’s documented setup uses a streaming destination URL and key: choose RTMP or SRT, then enter the matching publish URL in the app. That is different from connecting a YouTube account through Google OAuth. The available IRL Pro instructions document URL-based setup, not an in-app Google sign-in flow.
What “connecting” IRL Pro to YouTube means
There are two separate tasks that are easy to confuse:
- Authorizing a YouTube account: A service asks Google for permission through an OAuth consent screen. You approve access on Google’s site; you do not hand the service your Google password.
- Configuring a stream destination: An encoder such as IRL Pro sends video to a publish URL and uses a broadcast key or stream ID. This tells the encoder where to send the video; it is not a Google-account login.
Google explains that OAuth 2.0 lets users share specific data with an application while keeping usernames and passwords private. See Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API OAuth documentation. OAuth does not remove the need to configure a streaming destination.
Set up IRL Pro with a YouTube streaming destination
The documented IRL Pro workflow is to configure the destination in the service that will deliver the stream to YouTube, then copy that service’s complete publish URL into IRL Pro. The following RTMP/SRT steps are documented by Enhanced IRL’s IRL Pro broadcasting guide; exact labels can vary by service and app version.

- Make sure YouTube Live is available to your channel. Google’s YouTube Live API documentation says a channel must be approved or enabled for Live use. If you cannot create or start a YouTube stream, check the channel’s Live eligibility before troubleshooting IRL Pro. Google also states that service-account authorization is not supported for linking a YouTube account; user authorization is used instead. See Google’s authorization guidance.
- Choose the destination service. In the service that sends your video to YouTube, locate its streaming destination or key settings. If that service offers an explicit “Connect with YouTube” option, use that service’s Google OAuth flow rather than entering your password into an unrelated form.
- If using Enhanced IRL’s account connection, authorize and sync. Enhanced IRL documents this separate flow under Account → Platform connections → Connect with YouTube. It redirects you to YouTube to approve access and returns you to the Enhanced IRL dashboard. If you have not created a YouTube stream, create one first, then sync the connection so the service can retrieve the broadcast key. This is an Enhanced IRL feature, not a documented native IRL Pro sign-in feature. See Enhanced IRL’s platform-connection instructions.
- Copy the full publish URL from the destination service. For the documented Enhanced IRL setup, set the key protocol to RTMP or SRT and copy its complete publish URL. With RTMP, the URL ends in the key; with SRT, the key is carried in the stream ID. Do not copy only a server address if the service gives you a complete URL.
- Match the protocol in IRL Pro. Open the destination or streaming settings in IRL Pro, select the same protocol—RTMP or SRT—that you selected in the service dashboard, and paste the complete publish URL into the app’s URL/server field. Save the setting.
- Start a test stream and check YouTube. Start the broadcast from IRL Pro and confirm that YouTube receives it. Follow the destination service’s instructions for starting or publishing the stream; the URL configures delivery, but does not itself start a broadcast.
Does IRL Pro connect to YouTube with Google?
The reviewed IRL Pro guide documents RTMP/SRT destination configuration by pasting a publish URL; it does not show Google OAuth account linking inside IRL Pro. Enhanced IRL separately documents an OAuth-style YouTube connection in its own dashboard, including retrieving a broadcast key. Do not treat that separate service feature as a built-in IRL Pro capability.
Google OAuth and a stream key solve different problems. OAuth grants a service authorized account access without disclosing your password. A broadcast key or complete publish URL configures video delivery and must be protected as a credential.

Protect your password and broadcast key
- Do not type your Google password into an app or website’s ordinary stream-key field. If account authorization is needed, look for a Google-hosted consent screen reached through an explicit account-connection option.
- Keep the broadcast key and complete publish URL private. Enhanced IRL warns that a link or key can give someone the ability to broadcast as the channel owner. See Enhanced IRL’s key-security guidance.
- If you think a key or URL has been exposed, replace or reset it through the service or YouTube workflow that issued it, then update the destination configuration in IRL Pro. Do not assume changing your Google password also invalidates a separate broadcast key.
Troubleshooting connection problems
| What you see | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| IRL Pro asks for a URL or server rather than a Google login | The app is configured for a streaming destination, not account authorization. | Copy the complete publish URL from the service delivering the stream to YouTube. Select the same RTMP or SRT protocol in both places. |
| The service cannot retrieve a YouTube key | A stream may not exist yet, or the account connection has not been synced. | For Enhanced IRL’s documented workflow, create a YouTube stream if needed, then sync the platform connection in its dashboard. |
| YouTube does not receive the stream | The URL may be incomplete, or the selected protocol may not match. | Re-copy the full publish URL, including its key or SRT stream ID, and verify that IRL Pro and the destination service use the same protocol. |
| You cannot start a YouTube Live stream | The channel may not yet be approved or enabled for Live use. | Check YouTube Live eligibility for the channel. This is separate from the IRL Pro URL configuration. |
| You are asked to share your Google password | You may be using a credential form rather than Google’s OAuth authorization flow. | Do not enter the password there. Use a clearly identified account-connection option that redirects to Google, or use the documented URL/key setup instead. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a YouTube channel that stays live with uploaded videos, rather than a live mobile-camera broadcast through IRL Pro, StreamNeo is a different option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The service loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
