As a reversible starting point, select the lowest graphics preset available, reduce render resolution only if the game exposes that control, and test one change at a time. This is troubleshooting guidance, not a tested configuration or a promise of a particular frame rate.
What settings should you lower first?
- Select the lowest available preset. The exact graphics options and preset names in the current build have not been established, so use the labels actually shown in your game rather than relying on a settings list from an earlier version.
- Reduce render resolution incrementally, if available. Check the image after each adjustment; a lower render resolution can make the picture less clear. If there is no render-scale or resolution control, skip this step.
- Turn off optional visual effects you do not want. Make one change, play the same kind of scene, and judge both smoothness and image quality before changing anything else.
- Keep or undo each change based on the result. Compare not only how smooth the game feels, but whether motion is consistent and the image remains clear. Changing one option at a time makes it easier to identify what helped.
This is general PC troubleshooting, not a configuration measured on this game. The Steam listing describes Burning Sword: Death Sun as a wuxia hack-and-slash action game powered by Unreal Engine 5, but it does not document the current graphics menu or provide performance benchmarks (Steam store listing).
Check whether your PC meets the published requirements
Steam publishes minimum and recommended hardware requirements. They are specifications, not independently verified performance targets: meeting the minimum does not establish a particular frame rate or guarantee smooth play. Steam also lists a 15 GB SSD note alongside a 50 GB available-storage requirement; both figures are reproduced below as stated, without reconciling them.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit or later | 64-bit OS; Steam wording says Windows 10 64-bit or later |
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-8600 | AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel Core i5-11600K |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 5700 or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 | AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB available; Steam note says 15 GB SATA SSD | 50 GB available; Steam note says 15 GB PCIe-compatible SSD |
Source: Steam system requirements. If your CPU, GPU, or memory is below the minimum tier, lowering graphics options may still leave performance unacceptable; the published requirements do not show how far settings adjustments can compensate.

What earlier player reports can—and cannot—tell you
Community posts about the demo or prologue mention frame-rate fluctuation, stutter, and experimentation with quality settings and DLSS. One player reported using DLSS Balanced in an earlier demo context; another turned off motion blur because they personally disliked it. These are anecdotal observations from earlier builds, not controlled tests of the current version, proof that a particular option remains available, or evidence of a measurable performance gain. See the Steam community discussions.
In particular, do not assume that shadow quality, foliage, view distance, ray tracing, DLSS, FSR, or frame generation can be adjusted in the current build—or that one of them is the best setting to lower—without checking the in-game menu. No current controlled low-end-PC benchmark or authoritative current graphics-menu guide establishes those details.

How to judge whether a change helped
- Smoothness: Did play feel more fluid in a comparable scene?
- Consistency: Did motion feel steadier, or were there still noticeable hitches?
- Clarity: Is the image still sharp enough for you after any resolution change?
These checks help you choose settings for your own PC; they are not substitutes for measured frame-rate results. The available published requirements and earlier player comments do not provide controlled current-build figures.
