AMD and Nutanix announced a multiyear partnership on February 25, 2026, to jointly develop an open AI infrastructure platform for enterprise and service-provider agentic AI workloads. It is a development plan, not evidence that a finished joint product is shipping: the companies said they expected the first platform to begin coming to market in late 2026.
What did AMD and Nutanix announce?
The companies plan to build an integrated infrastructure platform for agentic AI—systems that can use AI models to carry out multistep tasks with some degree of autonomy. The intended customers are enterprises and service providers running AI workloads in data centers, hybrid environments, at the edge, and in cloud settings.
AMD senior vice president and general manager of Compute and Enterprise AI Dan McNamara said, “Enterprise customers need the freedom to run the models and workloads that matter most to their business, without compromise.” Nutanix President and Chief Commercial Officer Tarkan Maner described the collaboration as a shared vision for “scalable, production-ready AI infrastructure.” Those statements express the companies’ aims; they do not establish measured performance or completed deployments.
The companies use “open” to describe an approach centered on ecosystem participation, standards, software frameworks, and customer choice. It should not be read as a guarantee that every model, hardware platform, or software component will work together without qualification.

What will the planned platform include?
The announced roadmap combines AMD compute and software with Nutanix infrastructure and management products:

This is a high-level roadmap, not a bill of materials. The February announcement does not specify a GPU model, memory capacity, supported server configuration, software version matrix, or benchmark for the joint platform. AMD’s separate Helios performance statements concern AMD’s broader product portfolio and are not test results for an AMD-Nutanix system.

When will the joint platform be available?
AMD and Nutanix said the first jointly developed platform was expected to begin coming to market in late 2026. That is the companies’ forward-looking target, not confirmation of a release, general availability, or customer deployment. Availability can change as development, integration, funding conditions, market acceptance, and third-party participation evolve. See the February 25 announcement for the companies’ stated timing and forward-looking-statement qualifications.
Nutanix separately reported on April 7, 2026, that its own Agentic AI solution was in early access and expected full availability in the second half of 2026. That update concerns Nutanix’s solution; it does not show that the joint AMD-Nutanix platform has launched. The distinction is important when evaluating product status. How much is AMD investing?
The February 25 announcement described two forms of support. The $150 million share purchase was announced as an investment in Nutanix common stock at $36.26 per share; the companies said it was expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval and customary conditions. The announcement also specified up to $100 million for joint engineering initiatives and go-to-market collaboration.
The share purchase was conditional in the announcement. The materials cited here do not confirm that it closed, so the announced amount should not be treated as a completed transaction. These figures and conditions are from the partnership announcement.

Which servers can customers buy?
The cited announcements do not identify a specific server customers can buy as an AMD-Nutanix jointly supported or Nutanix-certified configuration. The partnership announcement says a broad set of OEM server providers will support the work, but it does not name a validated joint system.
AMD’s July 23, 2026, Helios update names Bull, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro as system suppliers for Helios. That is wider AMD portfolio information, not evidence that those suppliers offer a particular Nutanix-certified platform. The Helios update should not be used to infer a specific AMD-Nutanix configuration.

AMD EPYC server processors are relevant to the announced architecture, but a generic processor listing does not establish compatibility with a Nutanix configuration, product availability, or certification. Before choosing hardware, seek a system-specific support listing and confirm the GPU, CPU, ROCm and framework versions, and Nutanix support status for the intended workload.
What should buyers verify before planning a deployment?
Because no finished joint systems are identified in the cited materials, buyers cannot yet make a grounded product-to-product comparison from the announcement alone. When specific systems are named, compare the details that determine whether they fit your deployment:
- Nutanix support and certification for the complete server configuration.
- Exact GPU model and memory, plus the CPU configuration.
- Supported ROCm and AI framework versions, including any model-specific requirements.
- System availability, deployment location, and lifecycle-management coverage.
- Workload performance measured under comparable conditions, alongside power and cooling requirements.
- Total cost for the complete supported configuration rather than the price of an individual processor or accelerator.
AMD and Nutanix also presented the partnership in a July 2026 session titled “Own Your Intelligence: Open Agentic AI with AMD & Nutanix.” The session description offers context on their positioning, but it does not replace a product specification or establish that the joint platform is generally available: session description.
