Turing Pi’s RK1 is an RK3588-based compute module, not a standalone computer. The $110 figure was the announced price for its 8GB version; a later report listed that configuration at $130 when orders opened. You will also need a compatible carrier board to use the module.
What the Turing RK1 is
The RK1 is a system-on-module built around Rockchip’s RK3588 system-on-chip. It packages computing hardware in a compact module that connects to a separate carrier board, rather than providing the complete ports and setup of a standalone computer. Turing Pi’s RK1 specifications describe the module and its interfaces.
Turing Pi’s documentation gives the following specifications. They are manufacturer-provided figures, not independent benchmark results.

What the $110 price meant—and what was reported later
The $110 price was the announcement-era starting price for the 8GB version, not a confirmed current offer. The launch report listed three memory configurations and prices; a later Hackster report described higher prices when orders opened. Neither report establishes current store pricing or stock.

The two reports also differ on storage: the launch article describes 16 GB eMMC as standard, while Turing Pi’s specifications page lists 32 GB eMMC 5.1 and SD 3.0. These sources do not resolve how storage varies by SKU or revision, so check the exact configuration offered before buying.
Does the RK1 work with Turing Pi 2?
The launch report identifies Turing Pi 2 as an example of a compatible carrier board for the RK1. The module itself is not a complete computer: it needs a carrier board to provide a usable system platform. Compatibility across board revisions is not established by the available reports, so verify the board model and revision against the seller’s or manufacturer’s current information before purchase.

What to check before buying
- Total system cost: Account for a compatible carrier board if you do not already own one; the announced module price alone is not the cost of a complete setup.
- Exact configuration: Confirm RAM, eMMC capacity, and other included features for the particular SKU. The launch article and current specifications page do not agree on eMMC capacity.
- Current price and stock: The reported figures are historical, and current inventory and pricing are not established here. Check the live seller listing rather than treating either price column as current.
- Workload fit: The published CPU, GPU and NPU specifications describe hardware capability, not application performance. No independent comparative benchmarks are established here; do not infer that a 6 TOPS rating guarantees a particular AI workload will run well.
- Software needs: Turing’s documentation lists Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS support. Confirm that the operating system, drivers and maintenance status meet your intended use before committing.
