Intel has not confirmed Nova Lake-AX or announced a launch date. The rumored design pairs 28 CPU cores with a large integrated GPU, but later reports say it may not launch under that name. A possible Razor Lake-AX successor has also surfaced in rumor coverage; no confirmed rename or final product configuration has been established.

Will Intel Nova Lake-AX launch?

There is no confirmed launch to report. In September 2026, VideoCardz said there was “no firm confirmation” Intel would launch an AX-series processor and reported that the leaker behind the Nova Lake-AX rumor did not expect that specific product to launch. That is a report about a leak, not an Intel cancellation announcement. Intel has neither confirmed the chip nor said it is canceled.

VideoCardz also discussed a larger package or platform clue labeled NVL-AX, while cautioning that it could refer to a successor rather than Nova Lake-AX. A label appearing in a reported shipping-manifest clue is not proof of a retail product or launch plan.

What specs have been rumored?

The figures come from leak reporting, not Intel specifications. In July 2025, HotHardware relayed leaker Raichu’s purported configuration: 8 P-cores, 16 E-cores, and a 384-execution-unit Xe3P integrated GPU, paired with 256-bit LPDDR5X memory. The report cited possible memory rates of 9.6 Gbps or 10.67 Gbps. HotHardware’s report and Tom’s Hardware’s coverage both attributed the configuration to rumor reporting.

Rumored detail Reported figure What it means
CPU 8 P-cores + 16 E-cores (28 total, as reported) A leaked core configuration, not a confirmed Intel product spec.
Integrated GPU 384 Xe3P execution units Tom’s Hardware described this as equivalent to 48 Xe cores, assuming eight execution units per Xe core.
Memory interface 256-bit LPDDR5X A rumored wide memory connection; Intel has not confirmed it for this product.
Possible memory rate 9.6 Gbps or 10.67 Gbps in HotHardware’s July 2025 report; 9,600 or 10,667 MT/s in Tom’s Hardware’s account These are leak-reported alternatives, not a finalized memory specification.

The memory-rate figures are expressed differently across the reports. They should be treated as reported possibilities, not as a settled specification or an independently verified speed.

Is Nova Lake-AX canceled or renamed Razor Lake-AX?

Neither conclusion is confirmed. Tom’s Hardware said the design had been described by Raichu as “paused” and might never launch. That wording reflects the leaker’s reported view; it is not a public Intel roadmap status.

Later coverage introduced Razor Lake-AX as another rumor label. PC Gamer’s April 2026 report said it was unknown whether the change in name altered the rumored 28-CPU-core and 48-GPU-core plan. VideoCardz’s September 2026 report also mentioned Razor Lake-AX, but said its relative CPU and GPU core counts were unknown. Neither report establishes that Intel officially renamed Nova Lake-AX. PC Gamer’s coverage and VideoCardz’s report document evolving rumor terminology, not a confirmed product transition.

What Intel has officially announced

Intel’s January 5, 2026 announcement unveiled Core Ultra Series 3, which the company described as its first AI PC platform built on Intel 18A. Intel said pre-orders for the first consumer laptops would begin January 6 and systems would be globally available from January 27. Those dates apply to Series 3 laptops, not Nova Lake-AX, which the announcement does not name. The absence of a mention does not establish that the rumored chip will never launch. What the rumored design would suggest—and what it does not prove

The reporting frames Nova Lake-AX as a high-end APU or system-on-chip concept intended to compete in the class of AMD’s Halo designs. The alleged combination of many CPU cores, a large integrated GPU and a wide LPDDR5X interface describes the rumor’s ambition. It does not establish real-world performance, power use, battery life, price, or when or whether a finished system would ship. The cited material provides no confirmed Nova Lake-AX benchmarks or final product details, so performance rankings against AMD products would be speculation.
