PlayStation describes the model as a 1,911-piece build of the original console and controller. The assembled console is 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide, and the set includes removable game dioramas, functional Power and Open buttons, and a controller that plugs into the console. Those features make a low-pressure approach sensible: stabilize the model and avoid unnecessary force on removable parts and connections. The official product information does not identify specific fragile cleaning zones or provide a dusting procedure for this model.
How to dust the assembled model
- Stabilize it first. Set the model on a level, steady surface. If you need to move it, support its broad structure rather than lifting it by a small decorative element.
- Use a clean, very soft brush. Sweep accessible surfaces with light strokes. Do not force bristles into narrow gaps, where they could catch details or dislodge pieces.
- Work around loose or removable parts. If an element seems loose, do not brush across it. Leave dust in a difficult crevice rather than pushing a tool into it, and avoid pressure on the buttons, controller plug connection and dioramas.
- Use a cloth only on broad, accessible areas. A soft cloth may work on larger surfaces, but avoid rubbing across small details. LEGO recommends a soft cloth or sponge for hand-cleaning pieces; it does not specifically recommend wiping dust from the assembled display. Its cleaning guidance does not prescribe dry-brush dusting.
The brush method is conservative general advice; LEGO has not published a model-specific dusting recommendation. The official care guidance reviewed also does not endorse compressed air, vacuuming, cleaning gel, adhesive putty, household sprays, polish or disinfectants for this model.

If the set needs more than dry dusting
LEGO’s cleaning directions apply to LEGO pieces, not to soaking or spraying an assembled display. For hand-cleaning pieces, LEGO says to use water no hotter than 104°F (40°C) with a soft cloth or sponge; mild detergent may be added, followed by a rinse with clear water. For electronic components or sensitive pieces containing metal, LEGO advises a cloth moistened with water and mild detergent without perfume or oil. These instructions do not establish that the assembled PlayStation model can safely be immersed, soaked or sprayed. Keep moisture controlled around the assembled model.
LEGO warns against washing pieces in a washing machine or dishwasher, drying them in an oven, microwave or hair dryer, and leaving them in direct sunlight to dry. High heat can change brick shape.

Open display or a case?
A case is optional; it can reduce direct dust exposure, but it is not a verified dust-proof solution for this set. LEGO’s storage guidance recommends a dry place away from heat and direct sunlight and lists minifigure display cases as one storage idea. It does not recommend a particular case for this model.
