Sony may consider submissions for support, but selection, funding, promotion, and a publishing deal are not guaranteed.

Register through PlayStation Partners
Submit basic information about your studio and a short Project Plan. Sony describes the plan as an elevator pitch and says a full game bible is not needed at this stage. Its April 7, 2026 guidance on showing your game to PlayStation says the plan should explain who is making the game, what it is, when and where you hope to launch, why it stands out, and how it plays.

Wait for approval and sign the GDPA
Registration approval and signing the GDPA come before access to PlayStation’s developer tools, publishing resources, documentation, and dedicated Help Center support. Sony directs approved partners to Help Center > Documentation and suggests searching for “indies” to find its detailed “Indies Tips” material.

Submit the specific game title
Once you have partner access, use the PlayStation Independent Partner Title Form to submit the game. Sony says the form routes titles to internal teams looking for standout experiences to support through areas such as editorial, digital events, and social. Complete it fully and accurately so reviewers can understand the game.

What to put in the Project Plan
Give a direct, concrete answer to each point Sony names. Lead with the game’s playable hook or distinguishing idea, then explain how the team will deliver it.
- Team: Who is making the game and what is the team’s vision?
- Game: What is the game, and what is the core experience?
- Timing: When does the studio hope to release it?
- Launch locations: Where does the studio plan to launch?
- Distinctiveness: Why does the game matter, and what sets it apart?
- How it plays: What are its core features, style, visuals, and overall feel?
Sony’s 2026 public guidance does not establish that a pitch deck, demo, or other specific attachment is required for registration. A 2021 Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan guide suggested examples such as a short game description, team history, title images, concept art, in-engine visuals, music, gameplay video, B-roll, and engine captures. Treat those as historical examples, not today’s required submission checklist; follow the current portal instructions for any requested materials. What happens after submission—and what is not promised
A submission makes the game visible to teams that may offer support; it is not the same as applying for a guaranteed publishing contract, funding, or marketing campaign. Sony says it receives many submissions for a limited number of support opportunities and explicitly warns that selection is not guaranteed. It also says a formal partnership deal is not necessary for many indie success stories or PlayStation highlights; keeping PlayStation updated and communicating well may help create opportunities. Sony’s representatives describe awareness as a possible starting point for future opportunities, not a promise of selection.
The public guidance does not give a review timeline, promise a response, publish a scoring rubric, or specify every live form field. Approved partners should check current instructions in the PlayStation Partners Help Center. The detail Sony makes public is enough to start preparing the Project Plan, but not to predict whether or when a particular title will receive a decision.
