There are two ways to make prerecorded yoga sessions play continuously on YouTube. To repeat videos that are already on YouTube, turn on Loop in the playlist player; that repeats playback for the viewer but does not create a live broadcast. To present local video files as a live stream, send them through an encoder such as OBS to YouTube Live. Use OBS Media Source for one repeating session or VLC Video for a playlist of sessions.
Choose between a looping playlist and a live broadcast

Repeat an existing YouTube playlist
If the sessions are already uploaded and you simply want them to play again in YouTube, use the playlist’s Loop control. This is a viewer playback setting, not a creator-side live stream.
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist box beside the video.
- Select Loop. The playlist will repeat continuously in the player. See YouTube’s playlist looping instructions.
Broadcast one prerecorded session with OBS
This workflow sends a local yoga video through OBS as a YouTube Live broadcast. Your computer, OBS, and internet connection must remain available while the encoder is streaming.
Check channel eligibility first
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and confirm access before scheduling a broadcast. Follow YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.

Create the YouTube stream and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live to enter Live Control Room and set up an encoder stream.
- Copy the YouTube stream URL and stream key shown for the stream.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the server URL and stream key. You can also connect through OBS’s YouTube integration where available.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your YouTube stream. Do not publish it or include it in a recording or screenshot.

Add and loop the yoga video
- In OBS, select a scene, then choose Sources > + > Media Source.
- Name the source if desired, then select the local yoga video file.
- Enable the Media Source’s Loop property so playback restarts when it reaches the end.
- Check the preview for framing, audio, and any black bars or unintended overlays before going live.

Start and monitor the broadcast
- In YouTube Live Control Room, open the stream’s preview and confirm the video and audio arrive as expected.
- In OBS, select Start Streaming.
- Wait for the preview to show the feed, then start the live event in Live Control Room.
- Check the public watch page, including on a phone if possible, and monitor audio and video after starting.
YouTube recommends setting up in advance, checking the Live Control Room preview, and verifying playback on the watch page and mobile devices. Its encoder guidance is at YouTube’s live encoder tips.
Broadcast a sequence of prerecorded sessions
For a series of yoga classes, OBS’s VLC Video source can play a local playlist. VLC must be installed for the source to appear; OBS specifically notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.

- In OBS, select Sources > + > VLC Video.
- Add the session files to the playlist in the order you want them played.
- Leave Loop Playlist enabled to repeat the sequence. Shuffle is off by default, so the listed order is retained unless you change it.
- Connect OBS to YouTube using the stream URL and key, then preview and start the broadcast as described above.

Prepare the stream for a long yoga session
Leave upload headroom
YouTube recommends keeping 20% headroom beyond the total stream bitrate. If your encoder sends a combined audio and video bitrate of 5 Mbps, for example, aim for at least 6 Mbps of stable upload capacity. Use a wired connection where practical and avoid relying on a connection that is already heavily used by other devices. See YouTube’s encoder tips.

Test the whole path before relying on it
- Start a private or unlisted test stream, as appropriate, and confirm the picture and sound on the watch page.
- Listen for music clipping, missing instructor audio, or a mismatch between the video and sound.
- Check the stream from a mobile device and confirm the title and description accurately identify the content as prerecorded sessions.
- For a long broadcast, keep the computer powered, prevent sleep, and monitor OBS and the network connection.
Plan for YouTube’s archive and DVR limits
YouTube can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, and rewind capability may be limited or unavailable for very long streams. Give the playlist and live event titles and descriptions that accurately tell viewers what they contain, including that the sessions are recorded rather than happening live. YouTube’s playlist policy prohibits misleading viewers about playlist contents: YouTube playlist policies.
Troubleshoot common problems
