Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor one bhajan video, use OBS Studio’s Media Source and enable Loop; for a playlist, install VLC and use OBS’s VLC Video Source with Loop Playlist. Both are free software, but OBS must keep running on a computer that is sending an encoder stream to YouTube. YouTube must also enable live streaming for your channel, and you need the rights to stream each recording and its visuals.
Choose the right way to loop bhajans
| Your need | Recommended tool | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Repeat one video | OBS Studio Media Source | Enable the source’s Loop option. The computer and OBS must stay running while you broadcast. OBS Media Sources |
| Rotate through several videos | OBS Studio with VLC Video Source | Install VLC, create or select a playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. The VLC source requires a compatible VLC installation. OBS Media Sources |
| Run without leaving a streaming computer on at home | Cloud playout service | StreamNeo is #1 to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. See the cloud option below. |
OBS is open-source software, free to use, with no watermark or commercial-use restriction, according to the OBS Project Help Portal. “Free” refers to the software; you may still have costs for a computer, electricity, and internet access.
Check YouTube live-stream eligibility first
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. Check eligibility in YouTube Studio before setting up OBS; YouTube lists encoder streaming as one way to go live. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming
Set up OBS for one bhajan video
- Install OBS Studio. Download it from the official OBS Project site.
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the broadcast, then use Sources → + → Media Source.
- Select the video. Choose a local video file. OBS documents common formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. If playback fails, check the file format and whether the file plays in a local media player. OBS Media Sources
- Enable looping. In the Media Source properties, turn on Loop. This repeats the source inside OBS; it does not start a YouTube broadcast by itself.
- Check the picture and sound. Confirm the video fits the canvas as intended and watch the OBS audio meter while the bhajan plays. Avoid clipping or unintended silence.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In YouTube Studio, open or create the intended live stream and follow YouTube’s encoder workflow to connect OBS using the stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or show it in a recording. Do not publish the stream key.
- Test before the devotional broadcast. OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends testing settings for a few minutes before the first real stream. Check the stream preview in YouTube Studio, picture, audio, and connection before starting for viewers. OBS Quick Start Guide
- Start and monitor. Start streaming from OBS, then monitor OBS and YouTube Studio. Keep OBS, the computer, and the network connection active for the duration of the broadcast.
Set up an OBS playlist for several bhajans
- Install VLC as well as OBS. OBS’s VLC Video Source will not appear unless VLC is installed. On 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC. OBS Media Sources
- Prepare the playlist. Put the bhajan files in the order you want to play them, then open the OBS scene and choose Sources → + → VLC Video Source.
- Add the playlist. In the source properties, add or select the playlist files and arrange their order. Confirm the source plays each item correctly.
- Enable repeat. Turn on Loop Playlist so playback returns to the beginning after the final item. This repeats media; OBS still needs to send the encoder stream.
- Connect and test as for a single file. Use the intended YouTube live stream and encoder stream key, check audio and preview, and run a short test before the public broadcast.
Use YouTube-appropriate encoder settings
The exact stream settings depend on your upload connection, video resolution, and YouTube’s current recommendations. Choose a resolution and bitrate your connection can sustain, and use YouTube Studio’s stream health and preview as checks. The referenced OBS guides establish how to add media and test an encoder setup; they do not prescribe one universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval for every channel, so avoid copying a single value without checking the current YouTube guidance for your stream.

Clear rights before streaming a bhajan
Religious or traditional subject matter does not automatically make a particular recording free to livestream. Rights can apply to the recording, arrangement, performance, and accompanying images. Use material you own or obtain permission that covers live streaming and any archived stream, and check the rights holder’s requirements.
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content from another live broadcast. If YouTube identifies a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the content remains, the broadcast may be interrupted or terminated. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a stream. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption if your channel is not allowlisted. Troubleshoot common loop and stream problems
- The video plays once and stops: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For a playlist, confirm Loop Playlist is enabled.
- VLC Video Source is missing: Install VLC and restart OBS. Match the installation architecture: 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. OBS Media Sources
- YouTube will not accept the broadcast: Check that live streaming is enabled for the channel, that the correct stream is open in YouTube Studio, and that OBS is using that stream’s current key. Do not reveal the key publicly.
- The preview has no sound: Check the source’s audio routing and the OBS mixer meter while the file plays. Make a test stream before relying on the setup.
- The stream drops or becomes unstable: Check OBS and YouTube Studio’s stream-health information and whether the computer or internet connection is interrupting the encoder feed. A local loop does not keep broadcasting if the computer, OBS, or connection stops.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast: Review the stream’s copyright or policy notice, confirm you have the necessary rights, and contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting if the material is licensed. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams
