Some Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones received HyperOS builds based on Android 14, but the update was never available to every model or region. In August 2026, Android 14 is no longer Xiaomi’s current Android platform, so this is a model-specific guide to the earlier HyperOS 1 rollout—not a current universal update list. Check your exact model and software branch, then use the phone’s built-in updater rather than installing a ROM just because it says “HyperOS” or “Android 14.”

Availability information checked August 18, 2026.

What “HyperOS based on Android 14” means

HyperOS replaced MIUI as Xiaomi’s newer Android-based system branding. HyperOS is not a single Android version: some HyperOS 1 releases were based on Android 14, while other devices received HyperOS builds based on Android 13. Later HyperOS releases use newer Android bases. Check the Android version separately from the HyperOS version in Settings.

Xiaomi’s original global announcement scheduled the first stable HyperOS releases for Q1 2024 and named Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, and Xiaomi Pad 6 in the initial group. The announcement was not a complete list; Xiaomi said more models would be announced later. The page is now retained for historical reference. Xiaomi’s historical HyperOS announcement

Which Mi, Redmi, and POCO phones were eligible?

Eligibility depended on the exact device, regional software branch, and rollout. The examples below indicate model families associated with the HyperOS 1/Android 14 period; they are not a guarantee that every variant received that Android base, or that a build remains available for installation now.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Brand Examples from the HyperOS 1 period What to verify
Xiaomi/Mi Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi 13T series, Xiaomi 12T Pro, and Xiaomi 14 series Exact model, region, and Android base. Xiaomi 14 models launched with HyperOS based on Android 14, but a series name alone does not establish the software branch on a particular phone.
Redmi Selected Redmi Note 13 and Note 12 models, Redmi 13C variants, and China-market Redmi K-series models Exact model and whether it is a 4G or 5G variant; regional equivalents can use different firmware.
POCO Selected POCO F5 and F5 Pro, X6 and X6 Pro, and M6-series models Exact model and regional branch. Similarity to a Redmi device does not make its ROM interchangeable.

This is an illustrative, not exhaustive, set of examples. Xiaomi’s current HyperOS information warns that availability and schedules vary by region and that supported-model lists can change. Xiaomi HyperOS global availability information

Why the same phone can receive the update at different times

Two owners who use the same marketed phone name may have different update results. Xiaomi distributes software by device and software branch, and rollouts can be staged.

  • Regional ROM: Global, EEA, India, China, Indonesia, Russia, Taiwan, and other branches do not necessarily receive builds together.
  • Carrier or import status: A carrier-sold phone or a phone imported from another market may follow a different schedule or branch.
  • Variant: 4G and 5G versions, or closely named models, may not share firmware.
  • Rollout stage: A stable release may be distributed gradually, paused, or limited to a pilot group.
  • Installed software: A modified ROM, unlocked bootloader, or different base build can affect whether an update is offered.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
  1. Open Settings → About phone → Xiaomi HyperOS. Labels can vary slightly by device.
  2. Note the device name, HyperOS version, Android version, and complete build number.
  3. Look for a region suffix such as MIXM, EUXM, INXM, or CNXM where displayed. These suffixes can help distinguish software branches.
  4. Confirm the phone’s exact model and market of origin. Do not infer compatibility from “Redmi,” “POCO,” or another family name alone.

A POCO phone and a Redmi phone may share hardware yet require different packages. Use a package only when its model and ROM branch match the device.

Install an offered update through the built-in updater

The over-the-air (OTA) update is the preferred route for ordinary users: the phone’s updater checks the software intended for that device and branch. Xiaomi’s documented update path is Settings → About phone → Xiaomi HyperOS → Check for updates.

  1. Connect to reliable Wi-Fi, charge the phone to at least 50%, and back up important photos, files, messages, and authenticator recovery information.
  2. Open Settings → About phone, then tap the Xiaomi HyperOS panel or icon.
  3. Tap Check for updates.
  4. If an update is offered, check its version and changelog. Confirm whether the listed Android version is 14 if that is specifically what you need.
  5. Download and install the update. Keep the phone connected to power and do not interrupt its restart and installation.

Update settings may also provide options for automatic updates or mobile-data downloads, depending on the device and software version. See Xiaomi’s support pages for additional HyperOS update settings, mobile-data update settings, and automatic updates.

If an update is offered but fails to install

If the updater reports an abnormal installation or you suspect the downloaded package is incomplete, Xiaomi recommends downloading the latest package through the updater. This does not bypass eligibility or authorize a package for another region.

  1. Open Settings → About phone → Xiaomi HyperOS.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
  3. Choose Download latest package and let the phone download and verify it.
  4. Restart and retry the update.

The menu label or its availability may differ by software version. Xiaomi describes this option as a troubleshooting step in its HyperOS update troubleshooting guidance.

Manual recovery ZIP installation: an advanced option

Use manual installation only if you have a verified official recovery ZIP for the exact phone model and matching regional branch, and Xiaomi’s updater supports the package. A recovery ZIP is not a fastboot ROM. Do not substitute one package type for the other.

  1. Verify the exact model, ROM branch, package type, and intended software base. Obtain the ZIP only from a Xiaomi-controlled source when Xiaomi makes one available.
  2. Back up your data and follow the package’s own installation instructions; do not assume manual installation preserves data.
  3. Copy the ZIP to the phone’s internal storage, commonly the Download folder.
  4. Open Settings → About phone → Xiaomi HyperOS. On some supported flows, tapping the HyperOS version area repeatedly reveals additional update controls.
  5. Open the three-dot menu, tap Choose update package, select the ZIP, and let the updater verify it before proceeding.

Xiaomi documents this selection flow for supported ROM installation cases in its Android beta installation instructions. The option is not necessarily exposed on every stable device or for every package. If the updater rejects the ZIP, do not rename it, bypass signature checks, or try a package for a different region.

  • A Global ROM is not automatically compatible with an EEA, China, India, or other regional device.
  • Cross-flashing may cause verification failures, loss of cellular service, or a phone that will not boot.
  • Do not relock a bootloader after installing software from the wrong region.

Fastboot flashing is not a general download shortcut

Fastboot flashing is an advanced repair or maintenance route, not the next step when an OTA is delayed. It can require a Windows computer, USB cable, exact fastboot ROM, compatible flashing tools, bootloader-unlock eligibility and authorization, and experience with device drivers and partitions. The wrong procedure can erase data or leave the phone unusable. Xiaomi warns that unlocking, flashing, and rollback can reduce security protections, expose or corrupt data, affect warranty status, or render a phone inoperable. See Xiaomi’s flashing guidance. This is why a generic set of flash commands is not safe for every Mi, Redmi, or POCO model.

Troubleshoot common update problems

The updater says no update is available

First check the complete build suffix and the market where the phone was sold. The update may be staged, intended for another region, or paused; the advertised model name may also hide a different variant.

  1. Verify the full build number and exact model in About phone.
  2. Install any intermediate official update that the built-in updater offers.
  3. Try Download latest package if the updater provides it.
  4. Do not force-install a foreign regional ROM to get ahead of the rollout.
  5. If the phone was purchased through an official local channel and remains ineligible, contact Xiaomi support. Xiaomi advises checking official local-channel purchase status when investigating update availability: update availability support.

The package fails verification

Common causes include a wrong model or region, the wrong package type, a package older than the installed build, a damaged download, or a beta package restricted to approved devices. Stop rather than trying to bypass verification.

The download stops or the phone lacks space

Use a stable connection, keep the phone charged, and free enough storage for the downloaded package and installation process. Restart the download through the built-in updater rather than reusing a file whose integrity is uncertain.

The phone appears stuck or bootloops after installation

A first restart can take longer than an ordinary boot. If the phone remains stuck, force-restart it once; use recovery only when the device’s official instructions support that action. Avoid wiping data before confirming that backups and account credentials are available. Xiaomi lists factory reset only as a last resort after backup in its HyperOS troubleshooting guidance. If the problem persists, contact Xiaomi support or an authorized service center.

The phone lost mobile service after a cross-region flash

Do not keep installing other region packages or relock the bootloader in an attempt to repair it. Cross-region firmware can create compatibility problems; seek help from Xiaomi or an authorized service provider with the exact model and build information.

You want to downgrade

Do not assume a simple, supported rollback is available. Xiaomi says its smartphones do not support system rollback as a normal operation. Unofficial downgrades may involve bootloader unlocking, data wiping, anti-rollback protections, and a risk of bricking. Xiaomi HyperOS troubleshooting and rollback information
