For a higher budget ceiling of about $75, compare the CMF Buds 2 Plus, which SoundGuys recommends in that bracket. Choose the Soundcore P31i instead when calls and workout stability matter more than maximum ANC.
Affordable noise-cancelling earbuds at a glance
| Model | Best for | Noise-cancellation evidence | Trade-offs and extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anker Soundcore Space A40 | Best starting point near $50 | RTINGS says its adaptive ANC reduces low-frequency plane rumble as well as mid- and higher-frequency sounds, including chatter and computer-fan noise. | RTINGS reports over eight hours of continuous playback and four extra case charges. LDAC, multi-device pairing and app EQ are listed; the integrated microphone is a weakness. Its price can rise above $50. |
| CMF Buds 2 Plus | Best cited choice under a roughly $75 cap | SoundGuys measured 83% average ambient-noise reduction in its testing; this is a review result, not a guaranteed real-world outcome. | Adaptive ANC, LDAC, customizable EQ, IP55 and more than ten hours of battery life are listed by SoundGuys. Check the current price rather than assuming a fixed one. |
| Anker Soundcore P31i | Calls and exercise on a tighter budget | RTINGS says its noise attenuation is weaker than the Space A40’s. | RTINGS notes a more natural-sounding microphone, exercise comfort and stability, IP55, 7.3 hours of earbud battery life and four extra case charges. |
| EarFun Air Pro 4 | Feature-rich value comparison under $100 | SoundGuys reports about 75% perceived-loudness reduction at the highest ANC setting in its testing. | SoundGuys measured about 8 hours 44 minutes per charge and about 41 hours with the case. Listed features include Bluetooth 5.4, aptX Lossless, LDAC, 10-band EQ, wireless case charging and an app find-my-earbuds feature. The reviewed page gives an $89.99 MSRP; verify current pricing. |
Why the Space A40 is the best place to start
RTINGS names the Soundcore Space A40 its best budget noise-cancelling earbuds and also recommends it in its under-$50 guide. Its adaptive ANC is described as reducing both steady, low-pitched sounds such as plane-engine rumble and higher-frequency sounds such as background chatter or a computer fan. That range makes it a more convincing all-round budget pick than choosing solely by a single noise-reduction figure.
The key condition is price: RTINGS says the Space A40 can occasionally cost more than $50, so it is not automatically an under-$50 buy. Its microphone is another compromise; RTINGS says speech sounds distant and sharp. The review reports over eight hours of continuous playback and four additional charges from the case, alongside LDAC, multi-device pairing and app-based EQ.
When to spend up to $75 on the CMF Buds 2 Plus
If your limit is closer to $75, SoundGuys names the CMF Buds 2 Plus its best noise-cancelling option under that ceiling. SoundGuys measured an average 83% ambient-noise reduction in its tests. Treat that as the publication’s result under its own test conditions, not a prediction that every listener will experience the same percentage in a commute, office or aircraft.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The model also offers adaptive ANC, LDAC, customizable EQ, IP55 and more than ten hours of battery life according to SoundGuys. Because the guide’s price references differ, check the live listing and seller before deciding whether it fits your budget.
Choose the P31i for calls or workouts, not maximum ANC
The Soundcore P31i is a use-case alternative rather than the top pick for noise cancellation. RTINGS reports weaker attenuation than the Space A40, but says the P31i has a more natural-sounding microphone and better comfort and stability for exercise. Its IP55 rating may also suit workouts better than a model without the same stated rating. RTINGS reports 7.3 hours of earbud battery life and four extra case charges.

Where the EarFun Air Pro 4 fits
The EarFun Air Pro 4 is worth comparing if you want a broad feature set and are willing to consider a price below $100 rather than staying strictly under $50 or $75. SoundGuys reports that ANC at its highest setting reduced perceived loudness by about 75% in its testing. Its test runtime was about 8 hours 44 minutes per charge and about 41 hours including the case.
SoundGuys lists Bluetooth 5.4, aptX Lossless and LDAC support, a 10-band EQ with presets, wireless case charging and an app feature to find the earbuds. The reviewed guide gives an MSRP of $89.99, not a promise of the current street price.

How to decide which pair suits you
- Set a real spending ceiling. If you need to stay at or below $50, buy the Space A40 only when its live price meets that cap. If you can stretch to about $75, compare the CMF Buds 2 Plus.
- Match ANC to the sounds you want reduced. Plane-engine rumble and other sustained low-frequency noise are different from nearby speech or sharper sounds. RTINGS describes the Space A40’s performance across those ranges; SoundGuys’ percentages for CMF and EarFun are that publisher’s own measurements.
- Prioritize fit and seal. Earbud fit affects practical isolation and long-wear comfort. The cited reviews do not establish one universally best-fitting model through a uniform cross-brand test, so take advantage of a return policy if fit is uncertain.
- Consider calls separately from cancellation. The Space A40’s microphone is a cited weakness; RTINGS identifies the P31i as the more natural-sounding call option of those two.
- Compare battery figures carefully. The figures above distinguish earbud runtime from total runtime with the charging case where the reviewer reports both. They are review measurements, not a promise that every use pattern will produce the same result.
What ANC test figures can and cannot tell you
SoundGuys says it uses a Brüel & Kjær 5128 test head and measures isolation, ANC effectiveness and frequency response with ANC on and off, assessing results by frequency range. It also says, “We test and measure all of our noise canceling earbuds the same way, regardless of the price tags.” That consistency describes comparisons within SoundGuys’ own testing; it does not make its results directly interchangeable with RTINGS measurements.
For that reason, do not rank the CMF’s 83% ambient-noise reduction against EarFun’s roughly 75% perceived-loudness reduction as if they were the same metric. Use each result as context for that reviewer’s assessment, then weigh fit, calls, price and features against your own needs.
