Charter’s announced CFO transition does not include a change to Spectrum prices, plans, or service. Jessica Fischer is scheduled to step down on October 15, 2026, when Kevin Howard is scheduled to become interim CFO while Charter searches for a permanent successor. Charter said its financial outlook and financial policy were unchanged in the announcement. The separate changes most likely to affect customers are the integration of former Cox markets and Spectrum’s planned customer-service transition.

What is changing at Charter?

Charter announced on August 31, 2026, that CFO Jessica Fischer would step down on October 15 to relocate for another professional opportunity. Kevin Howard is scheduled to become interim CFO that day, and Charter said it would begin a comprehensive search for a replacement immediately. CEO Chris Winfrey described Fischer as “a key part of our executive team” since she joined Charter nearly 10 years earlier and became CFO in 2021. Charter’s CFO announcement.

This is an executive succession, not an announced customer-service or product change. Charter said the transition did not change its previously provided financial outlook or financial policy; the announcement did not specify any effect on individual Spectrum bills or accounts.

Will the CFO change affect a Spectrum bill or service?

There is no announced direct effect. Charter’s CFO announcement does not say that prices will rise or fall, that plans will change, or that service quality or staffing will be altered because of Fischer’s departure. It also does not establish that prices or service will remain fixed. Customers should use direct account notices for any personal plan or billing changes.

Charter’s second-quarter 2026 results offer company-wide context, not evidence of a customer-level consequence from the CFO transition. As of June 30, 2026, Charter reported 31.5 million customer relationships, including 29.4 million internet customers, 12.5 million mobile lines, and 12.5 million video customers. The results predate the August transactions and do not show that the CFO announcement caused the reported trends. Charter’s second-quarter 2026 results.

What is changing for former Cox customers?

Charter completed its Cox transaction and acquisition of Liberty Broadband on August 20, 2026. That corporate transaction is separate from the CFO transition. Former Cox customers have a more concrete service-related change: Spectrum products, packaging, and pricing became available in former Cox markets on Spectrum Day, September 16, 2026. The availability of Spectrum offers does not by itself establish that every customer’s plan or bill changed automatically. Charter’s transaction announcement and Spectrum Day announcement.

Mobile offer eligibility

Charter described one year of free mobile service for eligible former Cox internet customers who did not already subscribe to Cox Mobile. This offer is not stated to apply to all Spectrum customers. Check with Spectrum for eligibility and the terms that apply to your account.

Customer-service integration

Charter said it plans to return Cox’s customer-service function to the United States over 18 months after the August 20 transaction. It has not published an account-by-account migration schedule or specified how every local support process will change. Charter also said former Cox markets would receive Spectrum’s Customer Commitment in the future; that commitment should not be treated as already in effect everywhere.

Is Spectrum being replaced by Cox?

Not according to Charter’s announced plan. Charter said it plans to change the parent company’s name to Cox Communications within a year of the August 20 transaction while continuing to operate as Spectrum. A planned parent-company name change is not an announced renaming of the consumer-facing Spectrum service. Charter’s transaction announcement.
