To capture an entire webpage with GoFullPage, install the extension from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, open the page, then click the GoFullPage toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+P. GoFullPage scrolls through the page, assembles the sections, and opens the completed capture in a new tab for download as an image or PDF.

What GoFullPage does
GoFullPage is a browser extension that creates a single capture of a webpage longer than your current viewport. Instead of taking only what is visible on screen, it scrolls through the page section by section and joins those sections into one result. The finished image or PDF opens in a new browser tab.
Use the official store listings rather than a download mirror. The Chrome listing identifies the extension as “GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture,” version 8.9, updated September 25, 2026. The Firefox listing shows version 8.9, updated September 24, 2026. Store versions and dates can change, so check the listing immediately before installation.

Install GoFullPage safely
Chrome
- Open the official Chrome Web Store listing.
- Confirm the listing name and developer information so you do not install a copycat.
- Select the button to add the extension to Chrome and approve the browser prompt.
- After installation, locate the GoFullPage icon in the browser’s extensions area. Pin it if you want one-click access.
Firefox
- Open the official Firefox Add-ons listing.
- Check that the name and developer match the listing, then choose the option to add the extension.
- Approve the requested browser installation prompt.
- Keep the GoFullPage button on the toolbar or in the extensions menu for the capture step.
Capture a full webpage
- Open the target page. Navigate to the normal webpage you want to save. Let its text, images, and other sections finish loading before starting; GoFullPage must scroll through the page to collect them.
- Start GoFullPage. Click the extension icon, or press Alt+Shift+P. Both the Chrome and Firefox listings document this shortcut.
- Leave the tab alone while it works. GoFullPage scrolls through the visible sections and assembles them. Moving around, changing the page, or navigating away can interrupt the capture.
- Wait for the result tab. When assembly finishes, GoFullPage opens the completed capture in a new tab.
- Download or edit. Save the result in the format you need. The listings describe cropping, annotation, and emoji editing as Premium editor features; those tools are separate from the basic capture.
Choose an output format
GoFullPage’s result can be saved as an image or PDF. Pick the format according to how the file will be used.

Pages that need extra care
Very tall pages
A single exceptionally tall image can exceed what the browser can store in one bitmap. Firefox’s listing says GoFullPage reports this condition and splits the capture into multiple images opened in separate tabs. Save every part and, if you need one file, join the parts afterward with an image or document tool.
PDF documents
GoFullPage’s normal workflow is for webpages. The vendor FAQ cautions that the extension cannot access PDF documents for scrolling capture. If the address opens a PDF viewer or a direct PDF file, download the PDF itself or use a PDF-specific export process instead of expecting a webpage capture.

Custom scrolling interfaces
Some sites put the scroll bar on an inner panel rather than on the document. Others control scrolling with custom JavaScript. The vendor FAQ warns that these designs can prevent normal capture. A page may therefore work in one view but fail when its content is inside a dashboard, modal, or independently scrolling column.
Lazy-loaded content
Because GoFullPage scrolls through the page, content that appears only after scrolling may load during the process. Start only after the initial page has settled, and wait for the result tab rather than judging the capture while the extension is still moving through the document.

Troubleshoot a failed or incomplete capture
The shortcut does nothing
- Confirm GoFullPage is installed from the official Chrome or Firefox listing and that the extension is enabled.
- Use the toolbar icon instead of the shortcut. Another browser command or extension may be using the same key combination.
- Reload the target webpage, wait for it to finish loading, and start the capture again.
The result is blank or stops early
- Check whether the page is a PDF; GoFullPage does not provide normal scrolling capture for PDF documents.
- Look for a custom scrolling region. If the page scrolls inside a panel rather than the main document, the extension may not be able to control it.
- Wait until the page’s visible content has loaded before retrying. Do not navigate away while sections are being assembled.
The page uses a dashboard or nested scroll area
Scroll the page manually to identify which element actually moves. If only an inner container scrolls, GoFullPage may not capture the full content. The FAQ’s limitation is about the site’s scrolling implementation, not necessarily a browser error; use the site’s own export function or capture the container with a tool that supports element selection.
The page is too tall for one image
When the browser cannot store one extremely tall bitmap, Firefox says GoFullPage reports the problem and opens multiple image tabs. Save each tab. Treat the files as ordered segments when combining them, because they represent consecutive portions of the original page.

The capture fails repeatedly
- Return to the regular webpage (not a PDF viewer).
- Allow the page to finish loading.
- Retry from the extension icon.
- If the site uses custom JavaScript scrolling, use an alternative export method.
- On Firefox, use the support flag icon on the capture page to report the issue, as requested by the Firefox listing.
Privacy and permissions: what the listings say
The Chrome Web Store listing says the developer disclosed that it will not collect or use user data. Mozilla’s listing says the developer reports no required data collection while separately identifying optional technical and interaction data. These are statements from the developer and the respective store listings, not an independent privacy or security audit. Review the current disclosures on both listings before using the extension with sensitive pages.
When GoFullPage is the right tool
- Use it when you are already working in Chrome or Firefox and need a quick visual record of a normal webpage.
- Use PNG or JPEG when the deliverable is an image; use PDF when recipients need a document-like file.
- Expect limitations on direct PDFs, nested or script-controlled scrolling, and exceptionally tall pages.
- Use a different workflow when you need repeatable, automated captures across many URLs or when no interactive browser should be involved.
