To reduce selected animations and motion effects on iPhone, open Settings > Accessibility > Motion and turn on Reduce Motion. The setting changes some interface transitions and effects, but it does not remove every animation in every app.
Turn on Reduce Motion

Tap Accessibility, then tap Motion.

What Reduce Motion changes
iPhone uses motion effects to create a sense of depth on the Home Screen and in apps. With Reduce Motion enabled, certain transitions and effects change or are disabled. Apple’s examples include:

Screen transitions use a dissolve instead of zoom or slide effects.

Apple’s guide also identifies movement in wallpaper, Siri animations, typing autocompletion, animated Messages effects, and animated images on the web or in apps as areas with motion-related settings or effects. The Reduce Motion switch should not be treated as a guarantee that all of these—or every animation in every third-party app—will stop.

For animated full-screen and bubble effects in Messages, look for Auto-Play Message Effects in the Motion settings. Turning it off prevents the effects from playing automatically. You can still play an individual effect by tapping Replay below the message bubble.

Reduce Motion and Vehicle Motion Cues are different
Vehicle Motion Cues is another option under Settings > Accessibility > Motion, but it serves a different purpose. Reduce Motion changes selected interface effects. Vehicle Motion Cues displays animated dots near the edges of the screen to help reduce motion discomfort while you are riding in a car or another on-road vehicle; Apple says it can be set to turn on automatically when iPhone detects such travel. Can you add a shortcut for Reduce Motion?
Apple lets you choose accessibility features in Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut, then activate the configured shortcut using the button action supported by your iPhone. Check the list shown on your own device to see whether Reduce Motion is available for your iPhone and software configuration; Apple’s shortcut instructions do not establish that it appears on every device.
